Water going through your plasma cutter. I burned through a bunch of tips before I figured out how to dry the air really well. Put an inline dryer before it goes into the machine. It will take a bit before the inside of the line drys out. Drain the compressor tank as well. These things hate humidity in the system.
no doubt the best mobile welder videos i've ever seen on TH-cam!! i've been a young fabricator for almost a year now and love the things i can learn from your vids! Appreciate the great work brother, keep inspiring people like me.
The old saying when you own a business and its pretty true "Work 80 hours a week so you don't have to work 40" for someone else or doing a job you really don't enjoy.
That plastic piece that you couldn't figure out what it was for on your plasma cutter, is the Swirle Cup and you need it. Otherwise the sparks will blow back into your face without it.
16:30 that carb bowl also has a sediment bowl attached to it under the fuel valve. It would be good to remove the sediment bowl and check for any debris. It’s supposed to catch anything that makes it down there before the carb.
I was going to say the same thing but you beat me to it. I had a fuel problem on my water blaster with the same engine and the sediment bowl had crap in it and well as the main jet.
It pays to do maintenance or just practicing stuff to improve skills when the work isn't there on any day. I recently bought a Thermal Arc 202 AC/DC tig welder and today is practice and learn day. I have a stainless job coming into the workshop in ten days time, nothing major, just welding shelf runners back into some racking. But I need to learn the techniques and machine so that is what loose days provide for. Top stuff young man.
Yeah man! Practice is good advice period. I have been running the torch out here brushing up on my brazing skills. Just mild steel at the moment. I've got no cast to practice on. So windy where I'm at today. Hard to enjoy outside this Sunday. The sun is shining though...just a thirty mph wind...gusts over 40 mph. Yuck!
I feel ya man. Dude right now I've been spending my Sunday trying to get all my tax stuff organized and then I gotta go out and fix my generator. the last time I was on an emergency call the starter cord snapped on it.
Dude you are my favorite YT channel. I’m planning on saving up and starting out on my own in a year or two and I’m learning a ton from you. Thanks man!
Don’t go on my knowledge alone. There’s a lot of stuff in this business I just can’t catch on camera. Have money put aside and OWN all the equipment before you make it your full time
The hell with that eastwood plasma cutter, I was looking at those and the guy at the eastwood store said that those regulators mess up all the time. I went with a Primeweld cut 60 and it is the cats ass, for what you got that eastwood one for you get a much better plasma cutter.
Look it up on Amazon. I bought a new torch head for $29 and it works great. Just need to know if it’s a pilot arc or contact style “normal” arc. They are all pretty universal but those 2 styles have different connections
You can find a cheap but decent plasma cutting torch on Amazon or Ebay, etc for under $100, maybe even around $50 IIRC. Look up AG60 plasma torch, the consumables for that style are cheap and it works well. Just make sure to get one with matching connections for your machine.
Excellent video a great insight to a day of when you own your own business👍👍all ways something to do and love how you say it as it is more should be like you and how your never worryed about giving anything a go👍👍👍👍
🔥 I have the exact same air compressor on my truck and I use Non detergent motor oil From wallmart 30w for over 6 years no problems. Fyi Everlast 102 I plaz is a good one ive cut 1" thick with it before it beats my old 875 miller any day and. Wayyy cheaper💥
Exactly it has to be non detergent since the compressor has no oil pump and thus no filter so it needs to keep all sediments down at the pan and not swirl them around continuously which is what ruins a compressor prematurely. Different story for screw compressors but these piston compressors use 30w non detergent as you stated.
Hi Anthony, I'm Alex from Australia. Watching your videos inspire me to get out there and do something for myself, although I am 65 and obviously not as fit as you are. Can you give advice as to starting out in welding as a new career as I'm no quite retirement age. I do have knowledge of stick welding as well as some mig experience in carbon steel. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hey man I have one of those torch’s I just kept because the machine went bad you can have if you want it I went hypertherm so it won’t work on anything I have it came off an htp but the torch is the same.
How do you like that Eastwood? I got an Eastwood mp250i elite welder and i absolutely love it and am looking into a plasma now….haven’t made my mind up for gas torch or plasma yet but I’m leaning more towards gas.
Is that a versa cut 60? If so we have the same one at work. It did the same thing it would spit and sputter and the arc wouldn't stay lit. The little plastic air diffuser was broke on ours to. Once we replaced it works perfect. Eastwood sells a kit with all of it for $69. Item# 21543 on there website.
Hey 👋. I see your in shorts 😁. That has got to be nice! I'm out here in my garage, sitting by the wood stove at the moment....it is 31° with a 25 mph wind...feels like 21° 😁. I've got to chuckle a bit....this phone gave me a weather alert saying warm.... and windy. Warm? 😁 got to be some kind of program. They got the windy part right! Been chilly in Florida though as of late. I'd take 60s though...but not now. It's coming. Burr for now. Happy welding and whatever! Just stay productive and busy. Try to anyway.
What's funny is you said they can't force you to do something you dont want to do your wrong they force you to have driver lic that's one example pay taxes but also for compressor oil non detergent sae 30 oil is all you need

If you don't already, drain the water out of your compressor at the end of the day. It should help prevent some of that rust build up.
Definitely!

Swirl ring, vital piece of plasma process. It directs the ionized air to create a vortex
Love the honesty and the no bs approach.

Every day that you can get something accomplished is a day well spent. Keep up the great work!
You can just use engine oil in compressors usually a 30 weight of some sort
Fire , fire 🔥! Run, get outta my way !
I have the same plasma torch it’s a s45 I believe you buy those parts you need on Amazon.
If possible it always nice to have a back up compressor.

pt 60 torch is a pretty good retrofit for most plasma cutters around 100$

You can look up some big stores' inventories online, so you can avoid having to go and not find what you're looking for!
I like the new intro!!
Really Injoy the content! Did you ever look at everlast or YesWelder for a plasma cutter?
I usually just work on my shit so I can be ready to work again the next day.
Has he ever done a video on his shovelhead? I've seen glimpses of it.
oil drain great idea , id be surprised if it doesnt get snapped off , try a fitting and rubber or flexible braided hose
That’s a great idea
Air compressor oil is SAE 30. Throw that east wood away and buy a hypertherm already
