Thanks for the review. One of my biggest issues with the Komplete Kontrol software is the fact that the UI is so small. Which makes it very hard to read and work with. It is definitely unusable for musicians with not so good vision or visually impaired people. A no-go in the 21st century. The font and size of the window is so small, it's already very difficult for people with good eye sight to read. This has been a complaint since years. NI never reacted. They did claim and boost in blogs in 2018, how great NI caters to the visually impaired, but that is all a propaganda and not more than hot marketing air. Besides their fancy words, nothing happened. The current UI is laughable. For anyone with accessibility issue, consider Arturia, which has an options to upscale the user Interface. Native pays lip service to accessibility, not more.
Came here to see if there was a way to scale it, and there isn't somehow! It's way too small, and it's a great program overall but that's a huge hindrance

Some questions: 👉1: Under Liberary: My Komplete Kontrol (latest version from today official download) doesn‘t show the „globe button“ at the left side. 👉 2: Once for example Prism loaded (as described in 4:00) I don‘t have the + button (Detail View) to show more functions of that VST. How can that kind of simple navigation buttons not existing on the latest version? 🤔 👉 3. Here is no option to change the size/scale of the software screen itself. Checked the Resolution setting unter Apple Setting. All fine. 🤔 👉4: There is no TOUCHSTRIP just SCALE and ARP 🤔

I find that kontrol creates slight input lag compared with opening the instruments directly.... but i like it as a sound browser, so... when I've found a descent sound with kontrol, is there a quick way of unwrapping (considering the kontrol software as wrapping paper), that is loading the actual plugin on the channel and removing the kontrol plugin preferably with a single click?

I've been considering getting a Komplete Kontrol keyboard and using it with the Komplete Kontrol software. It's confusing to me why NI used the exact same name for a piece of hardware and a piece of software. I've been looking at used Komplete Kontrol keyboards and am wondering if the software that is included with the purchase of a new keyboard is the same as the free Komplete Kontrol software offered at their website? That would make purchasing a used keyboard more appealing as these are pretty pricey and if the software is free, that's less reason to pay more for new. I am also having this problem. Komplete will load up the instruments that I was able download free with my Maschine controller (i.e. Massive, Monark, The Gentleman), but it's not able to access the huge library of drum samples that came with the Maschine controller. Incredibly frustrating and I can't find any mention of this issue on the web, including all the NI forums (that, or I don't know how to word my grievance correctly). When I specifically navigate to the folder that has all the drum samples in the "Files" part of Komplete, and try to import the batch of samples, it says the file already exists in the Library... very frustrating, as I am trying to use these drum samples as plugins in Reaper, and have really grown to like the Komplete user interface in Maschine. Does anyone else have this problem???
I found out if ur opening it up for the first time u need to open it up as a standalone app first (not in ableton, logic, etc) then it’ll load up all of ur sounds THEN u can use it in your DAW
Alright, so go ahead and open Native Access. Then Press install all. Then after that reopen it as a standalone app, then open it in your DAW software. Press Edit then preferences then plug-ins then Locations, add the folder you installed all the plug-ins in. After that, hit Rescan. The go-to Manager, and if you've done everything correct you'll be able to open, and use all the plug-ins :=)
Would you please tell me how did you add these instruments and effects in the first place in KK? ... I went to Library tab and added the path of a certain collection library and hit "Rescan" but it couldn't add any instrument and/or effect.

martin hughes if this hasn't been answered yet, I'll help you out. It's more of an interface for Komplete Kontrol midi keyboards. Just like the maschine works on it software smooth and fast the Kontrol keyboard does the same thing in other daws. You can control NI vsts from the keyboard itself

Komplete Kontrol has tons of free stuff that comes with if you download Komplete Start, PLEASE download Komplete start is is SUCH an amazing package and it's free and it's worth hundreds of dollars
Yes it can! I have a basic off-the-shelf MIDI keyboard controller and it works fine. It doesn't have the pre-mapped dials or other bells and whistles, but the input works perfectly.
On Windows 7 Complete Control is crashing on launch. I have the 32 note controller, and I am a blind computer user using screen reading software. I wish there were more hot keys for functions, as nothing reads in the ap window itself, and I can not get the keyboard to play. I can get to the items on the menus when its working, and that's about it. I liked the video, however everything you do with the mouse, should be able to be done from the QRTY keyboard. I think you should cover both methods.
It is really a shame that Native Instruments has not bothered to fix the display scaling issue after all of these years. So if you are using a 4K monitor then forget it. It is problematic even with a 2550 x 1440 display, which is what I am using. Komplete Kontrol is still optimized for 1024 x 768 displays. And while I get that the software is paired with the Komplete Kontrol keyboards so you don't need to look at the monitor as much, there are some virtual instruments for Kontakt that simply require a monitor to use them effectively, and you need to be able to see what the heck you are doing. The many cries from NI customers over the years have fallen on deaf ears. They always seem to have an excuse to explain why this hasn't been done.
I completely agree. Three years ago, NI published a blog boasting how great their accessibility effort is. Nothing more than cheap propaganda. In fact, they are actually misleading potential buyers, who buy their software based on their false accessibility promise. Since more than 5 years now people have complained about the small font and UI size. It's a joke really (even in 1920px HD resolution). Native Instruments simply doesn't care about people with visual impairments or people with not so good eyesight. Otherwise, they would have increased the display resolution, font size aso a long time ago. Something that Arturia has done years ago (on a much smaller budget). NI lack of regard is shameful really, considering their big budget and the amount of revenues they make each year. Absolutely inexcusable and dishonest on top of it. Komplete Kontrol software is just a Kontakt wrapper and the way it is developed sucks. The interface is like from WindowsXP era. This product is not really up to the task and certainly has to be completely redesigned. Super hard to read, and almost no customization. I have endless problems with loosing library connection, plugins not being recognized etc. Instead of working on the music I keep fixing problems every few weeks
What you did not say was, after installing the VST if all those sounds appears automatically in the left panel of the soft, if after installation, this plugin scans all your hard drive to bring all what you have in your hard drive in the left panel! That is why I give you a no like, sorry!

Bit confused on this. Why would you use this in standalone? You cannot record anything in Kk. I can see why in Vst mode.

Yes, you can just run the VST itself.

Doesnt have to connect to MIDI. You can directly play the instruments from Komple Kontrol from within your DAW.

I think just for workflow choice. DAWs put a lot of different professions. It integrates with their Midi hardware as well
Kontakt is it’s own VST instrument. Komplete Kontrol lets you browse any software instrument that is NKI compatible

Komplete Kontrol software (which manages the keyboard) is absolute piece of garbage. Stay away from it...
