    Thank you. I just sent three soil samples to Penn State. Easy and inexpensive.

    there is a limit on how much sulfur you can add a year. i do not remember what it is. you will end up burning the roots from the sulfuric aciid reaction if you use to much. you need the warmer temps for the microbes convert the sulfur and lower the PH. the PH wont move in the winter with sulfur.

      Yes. The limit is .7 lb per 100 sq ft. per year. His target was 5.2 lbs total. This would take about 8 years to rectify this much. I think the blueberries would probably be dead by then.

      OOPS! I goofed in my previous comment. The target should have been 2.6 lbs. He was covering 50 sq feet per plant, not 100. so 4 years would be required.

      Also, if that's aluminum sulfate he's using, rumor has it that aluminum is harmful to blueberries, so he should probably be using elemental sulfur, or Iron sulfate.
