    I have meet Jon and Ben at many meet-ups, great guys. Thanks for reminding me of how great Alaska is, recently booked a First class award travel from London to Dulles with 50K Alaska miles + $300. One of my best redemptions.

    ENTJ travel youtuber, you're filling a visionary leadership role in this space. Great insight into Alaska. We were loyal to Delta for years, and Alaska has the majority of our attention. I spend a ton on shipping, so 2X on their business credit card will come in handy.

      love meeting fellow ENTJs! If you spend a lot on shipping, the Chase Ink Business Preferred for 3x might also come in handy for you!

    Dang.. Awesome discourse! I immediately went to bofa and applied. $15k instant approval... Thinking a good approach may be citi strata booking thru travel portal for 10x though sheesh. So many variables. Sitting on 200k thank you points that need squandered as well

      @@geobreezetravel Nothing planned atm. My travel habits are sporadic and domestic. Not a great fit for finding limited release award seats. Got in the citi game for the turkish partner but united seems stingy lately. American/Alaska seem to have more availability for my travel style.

    As a Seattleite, i ❤ Alaska! Caveat: if you charge your flight with an Alaska credit card you won't have any flight protection (like you do with Chase Sapphire)

    • @geobreezetravel
      @geobreezetravel  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      this is true! those trip protections can be a life-saver if something goes wrong!

    Btw there is absolutely no issue with applying directly through Chase website. You don’t need to use someone’s referral link unless you want that person to earn some free points through you. I hate when these TH-camrs hide certain details and not clear about everything.

    • @geobreezetravel
      @geobreezetravel  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There's no issue with it. The main reason to make sure you use someone else's link (doesn't have to be mine, it can be your spouse's) is to make sure SOMEONE gets the referral bonus or else the banks just pocket that money. The banks have enough money. Your family can save more if you remember to use each other's links.

    Actually, Alaska has been awarding Elite Qualifying Miles (butts on seats) miles for meeting certain spend amount on their credit card since last year but there’s a limit.

    • @lewis20002000
      @lewis20002000 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Whenever you're flying a One world/Alaska partner airline give them your Alaska number, thus the mileage will be credited to your Alaska account. In their use case, they were signaling out AA.

    Could you please explain again how someone could use Amex or Chase points to book flights on Alaska and still receive Alaska miles for that flight? Is it as simple as just redeeming your points via AMEX to book the flight? I’m new to this game and have not transferred or booked anything with points, thanks!

    • @geobreezetravel
      @geobreezetravel  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you book through the Amex or Chase portal, Alaska looks at it like you booked a cash flight. The redemption rate on the portal isn't as good (1-1.5 cpp), but you'll also be earning Alaska miles on the purchase, so it might be worth it.

    Do you book on Alaska but fly OneWorld metal to acquire Alaska miles? Is that what you and Jon mean by fly American but credit your miles to Alaska Airlines?

    • @lewis20002000
      @lewis20002000 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Booking on Alaska website would automatically assign whatever miles to your Alaska account, but double check with that airline to make sure. In all cases, use the airline number who you want the miles to go to.

    • @geobreezetravel
      @geobreezetravel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes, and you can also search for "[airline you're flying] + manage reservation" for booked flights and edit the frequent flyer number assigned to your ticket there.
