The Comp fight at 1:13:41 was always kinda funny to me despite the context surrounding it. Lexxus is still reeling from what happened to Shawnna and, now forced to fight against his own crew under penalty of her life, he's clearly reluctant & even lets Comp get a few good solid hits in...but the dude just won't stop running his mouth off, constantly taunting Lex the whole way through. Already stressed to high heaven because of his 'deal' with Crow, Lex snaps and beats the absolute crap out of Comp, thus beginning the final leg of the story. Beautiful.
defo on ps3 it would be sick all the same gameplay but a different story and better graphics and more clothes/haircuts/beards/tattoos and more rappers like biggie, 2pac, 50cent and eminem oh yes that would get sold out quicker than gta5 and alot of people would just love for it to happen but i doubt it will ever happen unfortunately

This was one of very first videos I watch on TH-cam 15 years ago and seeing this still on here make me happy, Def Jam Fight for NY is one of my favorite games it has so much replay ability, awesome variety of clothes and jewelry, simple pick up and play, more artists than the first one, the story was very good and so much more .
Brings back a lot of childhood memories playing this game when I first played it I didn't know the combo moves I was getting beating a lot but got better with a created fighter but most of the opponents was hard to beat in Story Mode.
This game will never get a sequel because the hip-pop/hip-hop/rap genre has moved on (for the worst) lol imagine having Chief Keef, Drake, soulja Boy as lead/supporting roles in the next game, no fucking thank you! This game was only so good cos it came out at the pinnacle of mainstream rap culture. Just glad this game came out when it did and gave me such good memories playing by myself and with my friends.

You know what still confuses me? This story's protagonist, he's so mysterious. I mean, in the beginning he saves D-Mob out of nowhere for unknown reasons, but at the end of the story he waits for a moment as the cops are coming after killing Crow. What is he, undercover cop or just another O.G. in the streets of New York? Just sayin'.
That maybe the long time comment? But I'll add my answer nevertheless. If you haven't done so you could always write a fic about the Def Jam story and make up the background for your character. If you have to you could make some story revisions.
I was going to do my own spin on this game also! I was talking to a friend and he told me there was already a VGM(Videogame Movie) on this game and he sent me to this video. This whole video is amazing. -The editing is good -The timing is great -progression of the story Well done Lexxus. You're officially subbed. The songs of the soundtrack were very wise choices and fit game very well. This is a great game with an intuitive fighting engine. The only downside is that the story mode can be beaten too quickly.
