This is very helpful. I find the explanations in the HSK standard course books use a lot of grammatical terminology that makes my head spin. For example: "When a verb or verb phrase is used as an attributive modifier, 的 should be put between the modifier and the word modified." It's not a very difficult concept, but they make it overly complicated by the way they try to explain it. By contrast, you explain grammar points in a way that is easy to understand. I am reviewing HSK 3 and starting HSK 4, but it was useful to review these HSK 2 grammar points, and it is wonderful when they are presented so clearly. Thank you!

I think it confuses me because it’s inconsistent.

Next video difference between 紧张 and 着急? Also the difference between saying "我做完了作业” and "我把作业做完了”.

    • @EverydayChinese
      @EverydayChinese  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

我做完了作业 and 我把作业做完了 have the same meaning.
A basic sentence in Mandarin is formed with a subject-verb-object (SVO) word order, as in English:
Subj. + [Verb Phrase] + Obj.
In the 把 sentence, the object has moved, and is just preceded by 把. You now have SOV word order:
      Subj. + 把 + Obj. + [Verb Phrase]
      紧张 VS 着急:
      紧张[jǐn zhāng]
      1.
      (精神处于高度准备状态, 兴奋不安) nervous; keyed up:
      look nervous; 神情紧张
      overcome one's nervousness; 克服紧张情绪
      2.
(激烈或紧迫, 使人精神紧张) tense; intense; strained; hectic; jettery:
      intense but orderly work; 紧张而有秩序的工作
      a tense situation; tension; 紧张局势
      3.
      (供应不足) in short supply; tight:
These goods are in short supply. 这些货物供应紧张。
      着急[zháo jí]
      worry; feel anxious:
Just take care of yourself and don't worry. 别着急, 安心养病。
Keep calm. Don't be anxious. 冷静点, 别着急。
