Lyrics:
[Verse]
My baby's on the level
I try to read her mind
She's on the straight and narrow
I'm guessin' all the time
But I can't see the road
If I'm lookin' at the signs
I'm carryin' a load
And steppin' out of line
[Verse]
My baby's on the level (My baby's on the level)
I try to read her mind (I try to read her mind)
She's on the straight and narrow (She's on the straight and narrow)
I'm guessin' all the time (And I'm guessin' all the time)
Oh, well, how can I see the road? (How can I see the road?)
If I'm lookin' at the signs (If I'm lookin' at the signs)
I'm carryin' a load (I'm carryin' a load)
And steppin' out of line - เพลง
15 yrs later and I’m still wishing this version was on Spotify
Someone once said he doesn't see the appeal of Jack's music/abilities.
Wish I could remember to send him this vid back then.
My daughters 5. Listens to A LOT of music with me. Whenever I play this she IMMEDIATELY enters my room. Has yet to fail. I love this kid in a way I could never have imagined.
Thats hilarious I love it! 🤣😂
My 6 yr old did that when I played MCR the other day 😂
I hope my kids are like that one I don't have any but I play guitar so I'd hope to have the same affect on them
Welcome to being a great dad!
Guess you could say your babies on the level
Have I been under a rock or what??? This is fire 🔥
Damn man, every version I hear of this song just kicks ass on its own merit. This is what a great band of individually unique musicians looks and sounds like together as a unit.
One of the absolute best tracks that my neighbors listen to!!!!!
LOL
@@ronfleming6874😂❤😂😅
Best band Jack White's ever been in. They harness his melodic wackiness and guitar histrionics in a melodic way that keeps him in himself in a way that's pleasant. To me, anyway.
Me too 🙌🏼🎵🪄💣
Prefer dead weather but I like the rancouteurs
@@oukeith Allison Mosshart is pretty badass...Damn. That makes me think of Anthony Bourdain and the episode he had at her house and DW was one of the bands at a house party that segment was being filmed at. In fact, he spent time with the band afterwards all hungover the next day and whatnot. It was dope.
Nicely phrased, mon ami.
the guitar solo is greatness.
this song is great and youre the oldest comment. u are legend 😱😱😱
I LOVE the fact the song is just a launch pad for that BADASS SOLO!
BUT..then again...JACK IS NO F@#ING JOKE!
This song is so great. The double solo shit certainly wasn't invented by these guys, but holy shit. Allmans would be proud. Blue Sky.
This is one of those performances where the live version is better than the track version.
So much better!!!!
Avon by QOSTA. Can’t remember the location but it’s the one with the slide guitar intro
Way better than the studio v
Most of Jack White's music is better live
Hell f'ing yeah
I get goodebumps every time I watch this. I'll forgot it every now and then and remember. lol. So it never looses its awesome 😎
And Blossom on Bass..she killed it
It's a woman?
This mix is incredible. Whoever mic’d the drums is a master
Yes!!! I thought the same!
The bass drum sounds compressed and like garbage. Somehow he offcenters the mic and still manages to pick up airflow from the porthole, I don't even. Sounds like he needed to limit the air sounds (+-Db for Bass drum frequency/tuning) instead of compressing the sound in post production to make up for it. At this point in the game if you aren't gearing the mic to the specific frequency of the drum you're behind. It honestly bugs me a lot.
@@maskcollector6949 Idk dude the bass drum sounds fine to me.
I kept expecting Steve Albini to chime in...LOL!...Hed be like...Yeah,Man...this mic and that..BLAH,BLAH,BLAH.....dude is the BAD ASS ENGINEER!...he could record dead air and it would sound like ...good guitar player too!....
Lol you guys are funny to think this is actually not post with tucked samples .
cant believe this song isnt more known. i saw the video on vh1 when it was new and and just thought of it. man time flys
Strange ....literally the exactly thing just happened to me lol
@@davidroyal1188 its stuff like this that keeps making me pay the internet bill every month, ha
I've never cared for the song one bit tbh, but after hearing this live version. I'm convinced I need to revisit Broken Boy Soldiers and give that whole album a better listen.
2:32 that guitar tone is monstrous
Do you know what pedals he's using to get that sound?
@@trent7567 big muff + whammy
1:55 reminds me of Skynrd or the Allman Bros.
That Gretsch Triple Jet though! I'm a drummer and I'm in love with that guitar.
BADASS...with a twin reverb with all the knobs cranked to 10.!
Amen.
I Love 🌹 this Song
Those guitars throw me to heaven i don't need any other feeling
Dope as eff
sweet!
Love them guitars
KILLER 🤙
That solo is lowkey one of his best despite how short it is
Fuuuuuk this is so good!!!! Damnnnn best band of the last 20 years easy!
How did all of those people stay seated throughout this video? The walls are quaking and windows are blowing out from the jam but those folks are just sitting there. Obviously paid to sit still. What a great performance!!!
Crowd must have been all paid actors 😂 you couldn’t have paid me enough to sit still during this song! This ones a classic
Bru someone said it here before but this is so much better then the actual recording on the actual fucking album
I have only just discovered Jack White and all things, Jack White. I am fascinated.
the sound of jack's guitar is awesome! and bass pedal at the end of song...
The vocals are perfect, the styling is excellent and the Director is brilliant. This is about as close to perfect as it gets. I love & respect Jack White for so many reasons and he just keeps justifying my love.
Third Man's audio technicians are geniuses. Take that, a great receiver, 4 carefully placed speakers and you will hear the magic. My dog did, lol...He flipped out when he heard Jack on one speaker, Brendon on the other. Lololol! Brilliant.
Damn.. coolest song ever.. it has everything!!
Accidentally ran into this video while trying to look up videos about how to cook steak, happy little accident :) this sounds nice
Still love it! Mama still tryna figure it out 😘💜🤙💜
That was amazing
I friggin love this performance ... Ive watched it many times ... It doesnt get old to me.
Still on fire this baby on the level
1:55

Outstanding gentlemen.
The Harvest Angel
Adam
I remember when this video was uploaded. I was in high school and to this day I’m still listening.
same
I so prefer this version to the one on the album.
The mix is just awesome for a live recording.
Whoever the engineer was on this, they did a great job.
One of the best bands in the top 10 ever 🎉
So great!
Still one of my all time fav vids on TH-cam.
Jack keeps me going man
Wow! Now that is rock and roll!
One of my all time favorite live version of a song ❤️❤️❤️
I could listen to this 100 times in a row
Jack reminds me of my brother. He was a very gifted, charismatic lead guitarist as well. There is natural talent that some are just born with, and it’s almost supernatural to experience.
Im sorry you said "was".😢
I'm sorry to read this. May he rest in glory
I love the energy between the vocalists, they are like best of friends. Precious.
Only problem with this song is that it isn't long enough. Ends too soon
Dancing right now 💎😌
Genius!!! 💫
The audio is slightly better than the studio. Fantastic band! All of these guys are rockin'!
My god what a band.
This lives rent free in my head 14 years later.
2021 and still awesome
this live version still perfect in 2022
The lord grew with us :)
Love the guild aristocrat being played by Brendon Benson ‘cos I’ve just acquired one, top track my favourite love the bass and his use of his pedals (uk near Liverpool). Rock on Roll by !😂😅 😅😮😢
Superb performance , top notch harmonies all the way around.
One of the greatest Duets that I've seen in rock. now i need some zz top. lol
Awesome ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Can't believe I've never heard this Song.....No matter how long ago it came out...I could listen to this on the radio today and Vibe out.... Fuk'n Awesome...😎....✌🏼

Display of talents
Sounds awesome as heck.
great great great !
WOW!!!
I wish more songs were recorded played here. There just has to be more from this performance stored in the vault somewhere
Super!
That was freaking awesome.
It's phucking SICK . Dang good song!
Legendary
This song makes this Welshman “DIZZY AS A BAT” little Jacks favourite track as he gets to use dynamic effects pedals what a 4 string maestro.
that solo was so filthy jesus
Still rockin 2021
Not only a great song but the drummer rules in a John Bonham way!
I Love this song so much
Brilliant as always
10/16/2021
Let’s go
U know it 🤘
Timeless and always timely
Awesome!
Rock on Jack!!!
2021 loving life
Superb!!!! Love it!!!
The Raconteurs sound like a rock band should. Keith Moon Jr on the drums really helps.
I wish I could like this video more then once I absolutely love this song its amazing
GREAT
I love this!!
02:05 jack blatantly knocks into the bassist :')
