I didn't mention it in the video, but this is one of the first sleight of hand routines I ever learned (as a teenager many moons ago.) "Stars of Magic" was one of my first 'real' magic books and Vernon's "Cutting The Aces" has been a part of my repertoire (in one way or another) ever since. Here's hoping future students finds this info as inspiring as I did all those years ago.
I have the book and I’ve performed the trick many times. This is a great way of handling. Love the kicker at the end with the flush! I may be inclined to “kut to the kings” and the kicker at the end is the 4 aces 🤙🏼
Thank you for this incredible tutorial Doug! I learned the routine super fast and have already started performing it. Each video you keep making gets better and better 😄
I was surprised to hear you say you don't care for Vernon's Ambitious Card routine in Stars of Magic. Is there a different Ambitious Card routine you recommend, or is it a routine you don't like, in general?

Also, while I'm here, out of curiosity, does any perform Vernon's Ambitious Routine from Stars of Magic? Just curious :)
I've heard a few different acr but not Vernon's. I'll have to look it up!
Is that the one he fooled Houdini with?
Can’t say I’ve seen it, sadly.
I perform Harry Lorayne’s version from The Magic Book.
Shoulder view makes it much easier to learn, please use it more 🙂

The flipper move looks like it could be fun as part of a multiple card selection as well…
Fact. I use it all the time
Hi Doug, you are really teaching very useful tricks and techniques, if ever you will be passing through india you are most welcome at my house.🙏👍
I hate the double undercut, but wow... it actually looks very nice in this routine

I use the cold deck cut for the last one after up the ladder
Level up!
I've been doing magic for close to two years now I do Darrel's version more than Vernon's
Nice to have so many options :)
