It's a little of topic but I think Doomscar is in a really good place in the meta right now as it can be foretold to get under PVDDR and just generally crushes lots of decks
17:20 could block lurrus with the beast, since alseid and dog couldn't protect him. Doing this, there would be no more fear from the lurrus/dog/alseid combo, and keep the chump blocking game until grow for a better position
Hey, I was the rouges player in your second game! I had a great time playing against you and enjoyed rewatching the game. A few notes: 19:50 - As soon as I played my first swamp I realised it should have been passage then swamp. That one was my bad 21:32 - Sorry 27:52 - Maybe its an oops but I would disagree. After playing your clarion spirit you still had enough mana to do some damage if you had it in hand. I think it would be better to prevent some big play than let you get an additional 1/1 flyer. 28:06 - I've been thinking whether this was a mistake on my part or not. Knowing what I drew next as well as seeing your hand I would have taken the clarion spirit but without knowing either of those Toski is an invincible 3/3 that draws you cards so that was my choice. 29:34 - This was defiantly a mistake that I missed, I wasn't playing around spellbinder. My thought playing story at sorcery speed was to simply give me time to think about my next play during your turn. Most of that game I thought I was dead due to the slow start I had. I think the saving grace for me was the fact that Lurrus could stick around for so long. In case you wanted to know that into the story drew me a didn't say please, merfolk windrobber, of one mind and another into the story. Cheers!
Sadly this matches my experience with naya toski perfectly, played a ton with it and I think the games where everything comes together and the deck goes off traps you into thinking the deck is better than it is. It has some pretty bad matchups and very few good ones. Side note, congratz on the new top video, mono red has been dethroned finally.
I play a stupid amount of the decks you post - they are generally solid even if not meta breakers - I don't think you should beat yourself up too much though - I think as of Omnath your decks single handedly warped the meta around you - and in the case of Omnath got it banned much faster than it would have been (IMO) otherwise. I see more of your decks on the ladder than anyone else - says quite a bit.
Maybe this is just because I'm a total noob at MTGA, but how do you get to the same deck view that everyone uses to show their decks at the beginning of these videos? My MTGA only has one view that I can figure out, with the collection on the left, and the deck coming out from the right, but just a list of the cards in the deck. Any help would be appreciated, even if it's something simple and/or obvious...:)
it's that icon after the question mark and gear icon, switches your deck viewer between horizontal and vertical. helpful in viewing the deck relative to its mana curve but not so much when customizing the number of copies for each card
I probably won't be trying this one, but i did wind up crafting that Tergrid deck in grixis. Did enjoy today's video though. Happy Father's day to your pops
Good work on the squirrely stuff, it's a fun deck. Like you I seem to get games were enough land early is an issue, but I think that's probably just the algorithm messing with me for winning a few in a row. Be careful of burnout dude, you don't have to explain yourself to the great unwashed masses, you keep doing you.
@@DangerKennyB I haven't seen mono red at all lately, but it's been W Lifegain every third game It's not unbeatable but it's just as annoying as mono red
No way. Against mono white you can stabilize much easier. Once you cleared the board it takes them forever to reset and do the final points of damage, while mono red can always top deck that burn spell or just come at you with haste, and thanks to embercleave every single creature is a massive threat
Love this deck. I play with it in real life, not only in arena lol but I use two Drannith Magistrate and i use one less elite spellbinder, and one less Toski.
Happy Father’s Day man. I have a friend who plays us at our LGS and I’m always saying that the deck is good and fairly consistent but what it always lacks and something to go over the top such as winota. I’ve always felt that it needed embercleave or goldspan for that extra damage.
CGB, I know you ignore these requests as policy, but: Magecraft? Abzan with the cats and witherbloom apprentice, sedgemoor witch and Plumb the Graves? Seems like a deck you might like.
It's probably: 1 Linden, the Steadfast Queen 3 Lurrus of the Dream-Den 4 Luminarch Aspirant 4 Alseid of Life's Bounty 4 Elite Spellbinder 4 Blade Historian 4 Heliod, Sun-Crowned 4 Daxos, Blessed by the Sun 4 Speaker of the Heavens 4 Selfless Savior Maybe more Lindens and no Blade? But something along that way
Could u next time make a reminder, that reminds like a day before!? I literally forgot about Father's day 😅 Btw nice Deck, I love Naya and taski is in my opinion awesome 😁 especially I combination with gemrazer
Am I missing something in the last game? Instead of tapping down one of the blockers, can't you just swing all, they block as much as they can, they take 4, then you bonecrusher their face for the remaining 2? Seems like you had the win there, unless I am not seeing a blocker or something.
Sometimes you can tell even before they played a land. Yorion Companion is always Sultai Ultimatum and Mono Red can often be sniffed out be looking at their cosmetics.
Game 1 proving the decklist>brains sadly... I'm fairly new and I can't afford to make a deck like that with my wild cards lol. Deep pockets aren't needed but sure help it seems.
I've never got a Jaspera Sentinel deck to work consistently They are always kind of clunky in the mana, either flooding out and not having the sweet cards or not getting lands and having to tap two creatures for mana is too slow :/
I played this deck a lot and henge is better than skalds, mutate on toski is essential with gemrazer, and a cheeky grumgully to make the spirits 2:2 makes things interesting especially with mutate making it possible to cast more than one. You just have to out value the opponent and trade like a crazy man.
Don’t get me wrong, naya adventures was the first deck I got through diamond woth, but I’ve found better success gemrazing on to toski. Then you’re less likely to get stuck with 3 in your hand, amd it’s trample ensures card draw every time. No need for the adventures shell. Although it can hit mana issues necessitating early dual w/g. But The naya version of it has gone stale in the meta. I think there’s a reason we don’t see it much anymore.
Darn! People turning the video off when Rogues start winning? I'm not surprised actually. I have gone a little mad myself a few times after witnessing that in your videos. Is that a reason I started enjoying them more lately? Probably :D
21:25 bold move attempting to bait out the counterspell with a spell that can't be countered. I wouldn't generally expect an opponent to go for that play.

I'm admittedly not a very good player but I just don't understand how people, in the current meta, play decks that aren't full of removals and sweepers.
the current meta still has the ultimatum in it, which if you play a removal based control against, you lose every time. there's also cycling, which again, is an auto-lose. rogues is also favored vs a removal heavy deck. you get the point, there are a lot of popular aggro lists, yes, but they aren't enough to where playing a list tailored against them gets you enough wins to justify it.
@@geolan31 I play a removal heavy Emergent Ultimatun deck. I'm currently in Platinum. I consistently beat Rogues and even cycling (deoending on when they draw their Zenith Flairs). I actually enjoy the rogues matchup if i am playing a deck with a fighting chance. It can be quite interesting because there is a lot to think about. Most decks againt rogues are just misserable though, and i totally get scooping after 3-4 turns against them. Just wait a little in the early game, they get stuck on 2 land sometimes. Or they don't draw every single thing they need and more. Doesn't happen too often, but often enough to try.

I still find it crazy that everyone knows exactly what deck your playing by the first card (or even land) played. Even down to the hand size
Once you play the meta a bit you'll get used to guess their deck by the first landdrop.
