Subnautica 2.0, Grasshopper Base Tour

- Subnautica base does not need to be large and elaborate to make you feel good about it. It's all about the uniqueness and details. Make it logical, make it fit the environment, imagine some purpose for it, make it welcoming and cozy.
Grasshopper Laboratory resides in the central Kelp Forest biome, surrounded by unusually large number of stalkers. You can watch them play around with metal and chasing small fish. However they are not afraid to chase you too should you stay near them for long enough. Boasting 2 large Alien Containment units, Laboratory is fully equipped to handle all kinds of alien life research. At the moment Gasopods are a life form of choice. A 2nd floor is well equipped to support a variety of leisure activities for up to 4 permanent crew members and occasional visitors. Having 2 well placed observatories, one can enjoy mesmerising view of the surrounding kelp forests, especially during the night. Being near the surface, the base doesn't feature advanced power source to support heavy machinery, but does contain enough solar panels to keep things going. - เกม
I was working on my base the other night, and discovered something neat with the alien containment tanks and the large rooms: you can place the tanks either one in the middle of the room, or on either side (giving you 2 tanks in the room kinda like what you have here) but when you have 2 large rooms stacked like that, you can do it one way in the top room, and the other way in the bottom room. And when you do it like that, it connects the three tanks. I have 2 in my bottom room with a hatch on each, and the top floor tank, which also has a hatch, acts as the passage between them. I found it pretty cool you can do that.
Wow the more things you learn. Im defenitely trying that.
I usually just have 4-8 large rooms on top of each other, the one top I have my stuff in, all the others has Alien containment tanks.
because then your floor is just an aquarium, and of course, the one at the bottom has 1 tank in the middle to connect them.
Same with multipurpose rooms
@@Kingslayer11 i thought multi purpose rooms only had one spot for a tank
I love it´s triggering music when you enter a Observatory!
I completed this back in 2014 and am playing it again on the Series X. I didn't build much of a base back then. I just wanted to complete the game. Now I want to be more creative. Does anybody else get overwhelmed by thinking about your base and how you want it? Then I start comparing mine to others and mine doesn't seem too hot. LOL That's an awesome base. I always pre plan my base and how I want it in my head before I go to sleep. Only time I can focus and imagine how I want it. Going to subscribulate.
i think this might be one of my favorite bases so far. the kelp forest is one of my favorite biomes in Subnautica and i love the very earthy planty feeling that this base has. honestly, its small and cozy and its kinda my ideal lol.
i'm so glad you're back!
I Have an HQ in the Grassy plateau neighboring the Floating Islands and a Forward Research Facility for big specimens in the Tree Cove cavern... Now I'm planning to do a Mining and geological research facility in the Grand Reef and I came here to get some Ideas lol... nice job!
I really like your bases. The video description shows how much tought you put into them. I also enjoy the fact you build them in regular gaming modes, instead of creative, making it so that every resource was gathered so you had to plan ahead for it.
great seeing you improving base building and using the 2.0 update to its fullest potential
Excellent use of space. I always get overwhelmed by the large rooms...
Your bases never fail to amaze and inspire me
You've got a really good eye for a homey-feeling base!
You make me want to get more creative with my base building. Your videos are wonderful
Agreed, by alot
Beautiful base ❤
Cool base!
That my friends is what we call passion🗿♥️
Beautiful. Are there more to come? I’m looking for inspiration for the living large update using the partitions.
he's back!
Seeing oarfish build a new base in subnautica gives me inner peace.
Anyway, how do you like the new 2.0 update? To me personally the large rooms work way better in the OG subnautica since there's so much more space for them, and the glass roof looks way nicer in places like the Lava Zone, Grand Reef, Blood Kelp etc then in BZ biomes.
Subnautica just has better environment when compared to Below Zero and you can do more here.
@@OarfishChannel Agreed.
i def need a tutorial cause this looks amazing
Please make beautiful bases in each biome
ANOTHER OARFISH VIDEO LET'S GOOOOOOO!!!! EXCITEMENT! also Merry Christmas! Also..HOW did you get that many stalker teeth down there??????
Merry Christmas to you too! If a game save lasts long enough, you will eventually find places with lots of Stalker teeth. They just accumulate...
@@OarfishChannel Thats cool, it means stalkers tend to stick to one area like a small cave or such to play.
sexy base , nice job
Babe wake up. New Oarfish video.
très classe j'aime bien sais dans l esprit de capitaine Némo bravo
Love this base!
Did you have to put the windows In before you put in
the Alien containment?
I had a Feeling that there was going to be a Base video
Kinda got the same idea
But i build under mushroom forest
And my first floor is entirely for crafting with each new room branch out for different purposes (Bioreactors, Scanner, Moonpool, water purifier...)
My base is just below yours at the red grass area well between the kelp and safe shallow.
can u show tutorial, or upload save with that base? i want to build this, it's so great
cool
hola! una pregunta, los dientes debajo de tu base, ¿son dejados por los acechadores al ver que es una zona resguardada?
how do you make the alien containment light up yellow like thay
They need to add the jutebox.
Hpw do u make the alien container go through the second floor
can u post a tuto for this im having problems building a base please
how do you support so many windows and glass roofs?
aonde vc encontrou esse tanque de contenção alienígena?
How did it make such a large room?(the room with 2 fishtank and workbenches). Like is it a mulitpurpose room or something else? What exactly is it?
It a room from subnautica below zero that they added to subnautica
I feel bad for those gasopods lol
Hi good sir, you have great videos here. Need a little help here becasue I'm so confused, still considering which subnautica should i buy? The OG or BZ?
Ty! Original for sure.
How there is light in the aquarium?
BTw, does putting a glass roof on the large room require any reinforcing? Since this is new I have no experience with it.
Yeah definitely, however besides the old stuff, wall sections inside big room add to structural integrity too.
@@OarfishChannel So I guess I'll reinforce before dropping the glass roof on.
How did you manage to put 4 alien containments in two large rooms? It’s only letting me do two at a time, either on top of each other or side by side
Maybe you need some resources
@@Guts_rage125 nah, I had everything I needed. Gave up anyway 🤷♂️
Do you have mod in your game?
Damn it. I was wondering if you could put four alien containment modules in a large room to create one huge tank, but it splits them in the middle of the roomUnfortunate. Now I'm wondering if you can stack a large room on a large room and create a 2x2 containment on either side.
You can! And you can also stagger them, so if you stack two large rooms and put a containment on each side of the bottom one, you can connect them with a single containment in the middle of the upper room, sorta creating a pyramid-shaped containment. Not sure if that explanation made sense, but I suggest playing around with it in creative mode 😊
how are the aquariums glowing so much
Because of the creep vines
what are the cords?
Question: how did you make the lights in the alien containment?
Kelp glows
@@OarfishChannelbro ur lyin those do not glow
@@jackwest728why th whould he lie about it
You have to plant the creepvine seeds, not just a cutting of the leaves, in order to get the kind that grow more seeds. The seeds are what create the glow effect. Also creepvine will only grow tall enough to get seeds in a double-high containment. A single one isn’t high enough and the creepvine can’t finish growing
*me wondering why theres a bunch of stalker teeth under his base*
They probably chewed on the base and lost their teeth
That save is eons long so it happens eventually...
buen habitat pero no me gusta el hecho de no tener sala de escaner
How much wil it cost to buy your base for observation
Also you should make a Glow Whale Observatory
You should make a
Glow Whale Observatory
And a Reefback Observatory (IDK if I said this twice)
Subnautica is video game crack.
*promosm*
it's just a bunch of desks and chairs lol
But only I can arrange them like this 😉
Oohh! Is this envy i’m seeing? For sure it is!
@@sierra6993 what a stupid comment, how does that make any sense
@@burneraccounthandle people who criticize other’s stuff like that are often just jealous lmao
@@sierra6993 i'm jealous of this? are you stupid?
