In the early 2000s I was working for a New England based open wheel Modified racing team. We picked up a set of Greenlee knockout punches, with case, for $40 at the winter indoor automotive flea market. The set was like brand new, if not new. Our side nerf bars passed through the body panels. The Greenlee punches cut a perfect hole which was far superior to using a hole saw. I fabricated a flaring die to flare the holes for added rigidity.
Nice video I bought a Greenlee 1/2" - 4" Slug Buster Hole Punch kit a number of years ago for work The kit can be used by hand cranking or a hydraulic hand pump We were running 2" , 3" and 4" rigid conduit and had to punch hundreds of holes My Boss paid 1/2 as he knew it was going to save a huge number of hours If I remember right , that kit was between $2500 and $3000
Greenlee makes conduit or trade size punches as well as actual hole size labeled punchs for switches , gauges etc . They also have D and double D punches for holes for oil tight and other switches and indicator lights. They even have rectangular punches up to at least the size needed for a Decora or GFCI Receptacle. They are definitely the top of the line for punches, conduit / pipe bending and wire pulling
Wow, great find. Congrats! I really ought to look in to estate sales - I've never been to one before. And I tend to shy away from garage sales just because most often there's nothing of interest. Mostly items for kids, or ugly clothes and furniture, lol. But estate sales seem like they might have more interesting stuff.
The old ones are called Knockout Punches, The new one is called a Slug Buster Knockout Punch, because it will cut the slug in two pieces, this is my understanding from a salesman.
For about $250 less, harbor freight has a hydraulic i think 5 piece...... Took a beating for years, no problems.... One of the best hft deals imho..... It's yellow, and better, i call it green$me...And the 3$ strippers. Are excellent too...i did get the ratcheting Greenlee big wire cutters.,.... And.......they're not Klein's......

Should’ve used a The Last Jedi disk instead…
