This is the positive alchemy of merging young and old. The Geeks + Jon = Match Made in Heaven. Jon is free of any of the negative binds of any Yes issues, yet gets to play with a younger band that is at peak Yes prime ability. He is free, and his performance reflects such. I saw the Rochester show and it was sonicaly mesmerizing and purely energizing. Feel so grateful to have seen it.
"a younger band that is at peak Yes prime ability." This is a far cry from peak Yes prime ability. Come back to earth. Two things not to lose sight of here: 1. This band is attempting to imitate Yes, on their own they could have never created these songs; 2. If not for the brilliance of Yes, there would be no interest in this tour. When these songs were recorded 40-50 years ago, Yes was made up of the finest rock musicians to ever assemble, and excluding Jon Anderson, that is not what we are seeing here.
We are lucky in 2024 to have the FEELING created by Jon and the Geeks. The feeling of Prime Yes. The sound of Prime Yes. We ALL KNOW it's not Yes. We all just want to feel what we used to feel, and this group allows for that in spades. I felt it that night. That's all we want. As far as coming back to earth goes, I'm still floating towards the stratosphere. It's a good feeling.
@Johnny-re9kg I am with you Johnny. I have followed Yes and Jon Anderson very closely since 1974, and attended over 80 live shows. There really is no more Yes, and I am happy that Jon has found a good fit so that he can continue to perform. He deservers it.
Almost went to this show... Instead saw Chris Botti on the 14th, which was a great show... it was for our 28th anniversary, and my wife loves Botti... But, I'm an old Yes head, and would have loved to see Jon with a solid backing band! His voice still sounds clear and strong... Thanx for posting!!
By the way I did see his old band mate Wakeman, solo, at the Egg a month or so ago... I hope those two can get back together to do some performing! Have no desire to see current Yes, with Howe, who is a real jerk, having met the man. I saw the real -- classic-- lineup a bunch of times, and a few other line-ups as well, over the years... But, the current band no thanks... Howe has been phoning it in for years anyway... The Howe of Yessongs, is long gone...
Ironically, this is what Steve Howe wanted.... which was YES music to go on beyond the lifespans of the band members. With Jon still alive, this is the last of something that feels truly authentic.
Jon Anderson , la sua voce è un dono , gli Yes saranno ricordati sempre come grandi innovatori del 900 , Chris ❤❤❤ sempre nel mio cuore , Steve & Jon sarebbero imbattibili insieme ❤️👍🥂
Now (from England) that is seriously impressive. The keyboards are much more prominent and "faithful" in this band (as they should be with 2 players) - and then there's Jon's voice of course!
....that's a SUPER short band! I'm so used to seeing Jon on stage looking tiny around the 6' plus crowd like Rabin, Squire, Wakeman...who all used to dwarf him...!
I had thought that there were only 5 members of The Band Geeks on tour, but I see 6 guys on stage in addition to Jon Anderson. Who are all of the musicians?
Steve Howe could care less about this. I am sure he is flattered that it is because of his guitar mastery that led Yes, together with Jon and the rest, to world-wide acclaim, that there is a band that wants to play the songs that Yes recorded 40-50 years ago. Steve Howe has already done everything and I suppose having won the award for the World Best Overall Guitarist for 5 consecutive years is enough satisfaction for one musician's career.
Still goosebumps every single time.Since school,a mere 48 years ago,at the tender age of 14.The maestro still delivers!

Great band, great song. Jon is Yes.
no
Yes...yes he Is
Still as beautiful as when I first heard it 50 years ago. ❤
Much more so. With age the song reveals how truly regal a thing it is. Beauty on a level seldom attained by mere mortals.❤

Just amazing ! A treat for the ears.
Wonderful, just wonderful.
timeless...
One of my favorites ❤ Band Geeks and Jon Anderson...YES!!!
Awesome video. Jon Anderson and the Geeks are amazing. Saw Yes 7 times. This rivals those for sure. Hope they come to Canada sometime.
Killer performance, thanks for the video
Jon, please do a Blu-Ray about this Tour 😢. You and the Band Geeks sound simply amazing

Jon Anderson hit a homerun joining forces with this band. I am really interested in the forthcoming album True, which is only a month away!
Thanks!

He’s on a platform
This was amazing. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing
The difference between this and Howe's band is huge.
HOWE HAS A BAND????
And they are mostly all same height as him (he has his platform of course!) Fabulous band

The guy playing the 12-string acoustic opening to the song is Jon's assistant/tech guy. He only comes on stage for a couple of songs.
Suite And You and I
Way better than how other YES sounds.
Dedicated to Janee.
Uh, Mr. Howe? Are you paying attention?

Terrible quality recording but Jon still has the voice of Prog.
Sounds awesome.
