I have a love-hate relationship with this show. It's so fun but so toxic. I never watched the last couple of seasons
I personally love it, but I get where you're coming from. I barely see any character as aspirational. It's like a fake reality show, we're getting a look inside a world that can be very vapid and rotten. It's not to be taken seriously and the character's are not good role models. I guess all that glamour and money makes it easier for most of us to detach and just see it for what it is, but young people could become influenced.
I liked Serena in the beginning ❤ but i love Blair's personality so i ended up liking her too. Chuck was my favorite, and yes, i was there for the fashion too. My fashion is a mix of them both 😅

22:48 I loved your analysis of both characters, but I have to disagree here.
Blair and Chuck were had *the most* toxic relationship I’ve ever seen on television. he constantly cheated on her, he sold her for his company and he couldn’t make up his mind as to whether or not he won’t even wanted her until the end of their relationship. I don’t think that shows that Blair loves herself more than Serena. Before that, she was in a relationship with Nate, who she barely liked, and he barely liked her (and also cheated on her). she just wanted to be able to say that she was with her high school sweetheart, or that her first boyfriend was the one, which i think most girls want. But she pursued it to a toxic degree and would just try to make the relationship work even though they weren’t even compatible. Her and Chuck were always on and off again over him, doing some seriously diabolical things to her and sometimes sometimes vice versa. I don’t think it’s a matter of loving herself more. I think it’s just that she values traditional, long-term relationships, and loyalty more than Serena.
Serena tended to the end her relationships over very silly fixable things that had more to do with compatibility because I think Serena valued having fun experiences and compatibility and didn’t care if it was with one guy or multiple. I just think she was less traditional and more have the goal of having fun. And I honestly feel like she respect herself because she would end her relationship when she saw she wasn’t compatible with someone, sometimes prematurely. There were times where she would stay in toxic relationships but never to the degree that Blair did. Two sides of the same coin.
Wow I totally see what you're saying here... this actually made me realize I am more like Blair in the instance I value traditional lifestyle soo much that I actually see Blair's side more. This basically made me realize I guess what I value more considering I always thought Blair was the "right" one.

Blair evolved a lot. She actually had balance between masculine and feminine energy through the things she went through. Serena to me had a lot of dark feminine energy it was very automatic and not her default. She didn't really evolve as a character but I like her
