Have you ever had to do this on a concrete subfloor (the house is built on a slab)? If so... how did you re-install those tack strips?

I have! In fact, I’m doing another one right now!
It is extremely tedious, even though the tack strips say they are “multi use“ for both concrete and wood subfloor I can never get the nails to actually attach! The method I’ve seen used is to simply get the tack strip exactly where you want and try to drive the nailing in one single hit straight down without moving left or right. That NEVER works for me! So, I simply purchase some construction adhesive and plan the drying time in to my build. Take out all of the nails that are supposed to attach it to the subfloor, apply the construction heater to the back of the strip, stick it down to the concrete next to the foam pad and squish it down and hold it to the manufacturers specifications. Once it has cured, you will have extremely attached tack strips!
