Thanks Fred
My brother always dips the new filter in oil before putting it in, he says the mechanics at his work do that all the time cause the filter is gonna suck up oil after you filled it. Dont know if its a must but they do it so i think they've got a point.
I’ve never seen anything like that. You would have to search the Internet. I would think that would be something that somebody would have to make for you. Or maybe just find a shorter shock that would adapt to the bike.
I would just check and make sure everything has been maintained. They are very dependable scoots if maintained. The CVT belt should be serviced every 14k. Good luck and ride safe my friend 👍🏻
Can you please tell places that I can buy parts for the scooter..I have the same one as you are working on in this video..I have tried amazone and eBay .but I can't find everything I might need..is there a parts store that you buy from? Thanks for this video.I am about to do the same check and repair you have done.
Do you have a video, or can you do one, on changing/flushing the rad coolant please? It's hard to see all the rad parts and hoses on this bike...so not sure where to start except at the top and the overfill jar...thanks so much! Hey, the bike of your wife needs to be done anyway:)? LOLOL Or do you have a video of redone the shocks on the front at all? Thanks!
I will definitely put that on my to do list when I get back off of vacation. I can always consider that as a video. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for watching. Good luck on everything.
I am looking at buying a 07 Majesty 400 with 5,500 miles. This would be my first scooter before going to the 650's. (Dreaming). I also found a Bergman 400 with 12,000 miles for the same money. What should I be more interested in, low milage, newer model, or cheaper repair cost. The Bergman 400 has abs since it is newer. How important is the abs?
@ I also found a 2011 Yamaha Silverwing with 5,000 miles on it for the price of the burgman 400 also. Is a 600 Silverwing something I should consider? Thank you.
It looks like a hole in the camera, but it wasn’t. It was actually a relief valve. The old one had oil on it, and it looked like it was an open hole, but it wasn’t. I slid the pick tool under the old filter it was just the way it looked in the camera.
Thanks Great videos. I have problem with my majesty, no spark coming out from the ignition coil, kill switch and side stand switch are working properly and there is no check engine. Any ideas where could be the problem? Thanks a lot for whoever has an idea or maybe you know a yamaha mechanic I can ask.
Appreciate your video mate.. so helpful. Saves me trying to collect all the bits and pieces and get right down to it! And doing things much the way I like it!
No, sorry I don’t think I have any videos on that. Did you recently change the coolant on the bike? If so, there’s a bleed screw on the cylinder head that needs to be cracked open to allow the coolant to get all the air out. I’m not sure if it’s on the cylinder head or actually the thermostat itself. If you don’t open that sometimes the bike will overheat.
Hello, the video was very helpful, now I know how to this correctly. By the way, can you help me with this ? I need the owner's manual for Majesty 400 2006 year and I can't find
Mine is a 2009. Not sure if I have the online owners manual or not. I definitely don’t have an 2006 manual know of a way to get it other than the internet.
I’ve ran it for sometime in my scooters, and it works pretty good. It also works in some motorcycle applications because it is wet clutch compatible. On the Suzuki Bergman 650 it does have a wet clutch system in it.
Hey buddy, I noticed you went from the front to take off the rad cap, but did you know you can do that from the RH unlocked compartment? there is a screw at the back that you undo, and that takes off a plastic cover allowing you access to the cap easily:) I saw that from a fellow in Greece.:) Anyway, my question is, how does one check the coolant hoses etc? do you have to take off the entire seat section, or can the bottom pieces come off to get to those? I think I have a leaking hose or the clamp needs to be tightened. After 14 years I would imagine the hoses need to be changed out as rubber gets bad, especially in changing climates like I have here. I'm looking for a mechanics manual, but if you have any tips that would be great!:) My bike is the same year as yours. 2009. I just saw you did some bigger road trips with bikes, I will have to check that out! I am a big fan of Noraly, Itchy boots and her loan travels around the world. She is quite something that dutch lady! Cheers!
Not sure on the plastics access🤔I took them all off year ago but it was a trial and error thing. Sorry I can’t be of more help. My son and I just returned from Alaska on ADV bikes and I was told Itchy boots was in the area but didn’t get the chance to meet her. Thanks for watching and ride safe👍🏻
@@ManCaveMayhem OK, thank you! Aw, that's too bad you did not get to meet her...she is a blast! Very smart and very brave woman. You will love her vids if you watch them...:) Congrats and that LONG drive up north!! Whoa! I don't think a bike will do for me on long hauls like that...nope. I will drive my 85 Camaro going places these days. :) Just got finished totally rebuilding her. I'd show a picture but can't here:( As for my Yamaha, I love the darn thing. I rebuilt the transmission, thanks to your videos, and it runs very smooth now! Upgraded to the Mallossi clutch. Nice:) Just need nice weather so I can get used to riding again. Been a while! LOL Thanks for your reply, that is always awesome! Cheers! Happy New Year!
I just bought a bike like this, same 2009 year...and now, I can get it tuned up, thanks to you and making such clear videos. I do have a question, instead of those terrible paper air filters that do not last worth crap and cost 100 for a new set...I see some have modified the scooter and put on KandN filters on both air section. One for carb and on the other side. Those you can clean, and probably never have to replace!:) What do you think? And you can keep those plastic parts OFF the bike once they are in...or just put them back for looks.
I have a question for you. Is there an indicator that comes on with this year model when an oil change is needed? If so, how do you get it to go off/reset it?
I’m not catching it at 6:00 the new filter is in. At 4:52 I’m removing the old filter. The new filter may look different than the old filter but they are the same the little button in the middle is more emphasized on the old filter due to oil around it.
Also I have a problem with the parking brake..kr will not push the brake pads into the disk enough to stop the scooter from rolling..the pass a good but I don't know where they were purchased because the scooter is use when I bought it

You should have said something about the small o-ring around the mounting pipe in the engine.

The filter you removed had a hole in the cover end but the new one did not. Be good to know the difference.

you are correct, the reason why he had to use a screw driver to recover the filter before inserting the new one which has no hole

How to turn off i-s on Yamaha majesty 250cc
Where can you get the oil an filter don't wanna get it online
I suppose you would have to go to a Yamaha dealer.
How to the cold my key lost

I agree a K&N filter set up would be much better. I personally would put the plastics back on it. It will also help keep the dirt out.
Does the 2005 have that bottom drain? I don’t think so.
Not sure about that🤔
What about the purple oil?
I’m sure that would work. Royal Purple is good stuff but I don’t have any experience with it in scooters.

Yes I did a video on how to turn your light off.
I think you put the filter in backwards.
No the filter was put in correctly that’s just a pressure relief valve on the outside some of them have them in some of them don’t.
When should the oil be changed
I do it every 3000 but that’s probably being anal retentive🤣
I love my majesty but I suck at the mechanics of it..all I can do is change the oil but not the filter, lol it’s a beautiful ride though

Thanks for doing these information videos you do for us fellow scooter 🛵 riders. Do you go by miles or by years on your oil and filter changes?
I do both. If the oil’s been in for over a year I change it. Or every 6000 sometime sooner.
What will the mileage be before service
I always change mine every 3k or once a year. But I tend to go overboard on servicing.
