Every year, between May and July, billions of migrating sardines come to spawn off the coast of South Africa. What was the most interesting thing you learned about sardines?
🐟sardines keep themselves locked; forming a cylindrical loop pattern in the deep ocean🌊
Forget the sardines, I need to know if the camera person was kept protected by his/her balls of steel?!! Those moments at 2:14 and 2:40 are crazy!!
😕
What i've learned = I think sardines are the stupidest fish on the ocean, because they prefer to get eaten by sharks instead of running away from the death gate.. If only they can separate one another,, ah, sardines Logic.
Thank you so much National Geographic about this knowledge! I get new learning that sardines is food some ocean animals. Sea animals haunted sardines fish 🐟 as their food. Killing sardines fish like seagull or tern, shark, and also whale! Oh, my Godness...
I think just human like me eating sardines, but not only me 😁😅.
When the whale came in that was like something out of a movie!
Truth
Right
Ikr
Its the Avengers..here whale is the hulk

This is My first time seeing birds swimming underwater. I never even imagine it was possible. Such awesome footage
Penguins are birds and they swim.
@@ligerraptor7805
Smh always has to be one of you! Didn't think I had to be technical, I meant flying birds duh! But yes all birds go in water, of course I knew that.
Ducks do that too😂
@@ligerraptor7805 what he/she means is seeing flying birds swim underwater penguins are water birds
@@TONEakaSHOWanhingas and comorants are birds that can fly and they are master divers and swimmers. We have a pond behind our house and they are there all of the time and after they get out of the water they will sit on a ledge or a buoy to dry their wings. They look like black gargoyles with their wings spread out. And when they fly they literally look like bullets. When they dive they will swim and pop up in another part of the pond. Quite amazing to see actually
Sometimes I take a look and realise that technology made life great.
For us
Technology except social media...
I’d love to be there diving with them! I love sharks and all kinds of marine life , I’m in school for marine biology and I hope to one day have my Own documentary series or tv show about marine life ! It’s a dream of mine
Go for it
Looking forward to see it. Stay safe, stay healthy and may your air never run out
Pretty Cure Forever
Jotaro kujo: good

The beauty of nature. I have been enjoying National Geographic since 1972 when I got my first subscription at 5 years old.💙🌎
oh, that's lovely!
Those birds looked like they had entered an alien dimension, like sub-space or something. Look again 1:58

TACTICAL AIRSTRIKE INCOMING
Oh my god! I lost it when the whale showed up!
How was this shot?! Scuba diving cameraman? It must feel insane to be in the middle of a feeding frenzy with animals of all sizes!
Probably a drone.
Cameraman never dies
That whale swoopin in being the guest of honor 😂
How did that camera guy fit on that scuba suit with such huge balls.... 🤣
Imagine being the wildlife filmmakers who came across this.
Sardines: We're trapped, let's run
Bird Gannets: Where'd you wanna go?
Sharks: Not so fast, baby
Whale: I'm about to end these whole men career
Ngl, the most scary part for me was the birds underwater
Sharks, The original crowd sourcing!
2:06 whale be like
Party without me.
Imagine being a sardine in your next life 😳
I'd rather be a shark.

On the bright side it would probably be a rather quick life.
This is better than any action movies nowadays.
This is too real to be true.. This is an amazing and thrilling footage!!
How amazing is this wow
It's truly magnificent. Never stop exploring!
This is awesome
Thanks for the support. We love being your portal to the world...and beyond!
dam sardines aren’t too smart cause that just makes them a bigger target
And then the survivors get trapped in a fishing net by humans. It’s tough being a sardine.
Respect to divers who film this
Whale: mmmmm all the sardines is mine
Me: oh that's why whales 🐳 are chubb7
Stunning Bryde's whale!
*Brutus
@@victordagameresteban682 Nope. Believe it or not, it's pronounced like _brutus_ but is spelled _Bryde's._ This is because the scientist who named these whales was Norwegian. 👍
wow the whales' arrival is like in a movie
The footage is amazing
incredible footage
'fishes' LOL
Some of the sardines were able to "escape" this ordeal. The ones that "got away" survived, able to "breathe" a sigh of relief. Whew! Only to end up packed and crammed in small pull-back tin can coffins so WE can now feast on them! I guess it ain't easy being little fish. I suppose krill and plankton ain't feeling sorry for the deens.
I was in La jolla like two weeks ago and saw a flock of birds just diving into the water and popping out. they went along the shoreline. It was amazing to see. Never dawned on me that there might be sharks feeding underneath as well.
I suggest you go to Shantou,China to shoot a documentary😄
Thank you for this fascinating video! It looked so cool but scary at the same time 😃
1 day ago? I watched this video already 😂
That whale ruin their party.
Amazing documentary! It's like watching movie. Kudos!

Shark: Come on, fellas. We’re having a buffet.
These sea predators go wild during feeding frenzies🦈
So much for strength in numbers.
I am absolutely here for the batman music. 🙏 Thank you.
I love you guys, an extraordinary video capture
Awesome
I guess getting packed like sardines is a sure bet for behemothic disaster
It’s true. cameraman never dies.
Whale: helo
fish are like- "bro you said we would be safer together!!"
Whale: *MINE!!*
That's amazing that the sharks literally leave the birds alone. I guess they've learned from experience that feathers don't taste as good? lol
Shark : Hold my teeth
Birds : Hold my Dive
Whale : Hold my devour
Um dos maiores espetáculo da natureza..A lei da sobrevivência. .👍👍👍
One day i will go to the sea world and feel it.
Kudos to the under water camera crew
In the end the whale prevailed 🐋
The whale made it over kill
This was unreal omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is this real footage or a simulation? genuine question
Love it 😊 amazing ❤️😻🤩 .thanks for the information.
these natgeo's videos should have a million of views, mmm
That sardine feeding is for the fin whale bro!
Why don’t the sharks go for the birds?
Same question i asked myself!
😅😅
there’s probably enough food to go around that they have no need to attack the birds
Next time I open some Sardines I will give thanks for their safe delivery to that can.
Wait til the humans come in with their huge nets lol
Thats got to be the best pirate I have ever seen.
The music sounds like something from a horror movie
this is...wild
Many of the individuals shown in this video are in fact blacktip and spinner sharks, with perhaps a few dusky sharks in the mix.
this footage is incredible
Cool
Sharks: Attackers
Birds: Bullets shooted by Aliens
Whale: Bomb
So so amazing wao
Seems like those sardines just don’t learn if they do this every year
Shark: OK! we eat part of them, until we're not hungry
Human: OK! web these fish up
Thinking about the hungry Shark game
Wow amazing
AMAZING
The whale reminded me of the mosasaurus feeding in Jurassic world
WOW!! THAT WHALE !!! 😯😯
This is beautiful.
Nice dear full support
Is that what we eat sardines in can?
amazing
How does the photographer not getting eaten by the whale?
the whale probably got some birds too
Seems awfully doctored
Whale is like a cartel
sardines have so many enemies and nightmares in ocean even if thousands of them swim together as herds, whales, sharks, seals, dolphins, sword fishes, barracuda fishes, tuna fishes, needle fishes, seagulls, albatrosses, pelicans, herons, as long as sardines encounter with their these opponents under water they always will be a good, delicious feast for these predators.
Ale akcja
What in the CGI
Them birbs be like WW2 ship bombing runs
Such a powerful fight.
Anyone wanna to go there in battleground ?🤣
That is insane!
Whales...for the win
