love your videos!!! i really enjoy the art work from these old titles, i miss the days when newstands were all over and they were flooded with horror comics
Fantastic video! I’ve been wanting to read this for years but have had a hard time getting ahold of these editions. Even when they were in print, just because they were so expensive. But I just requested volume 1 of the complete collection from my library, so I’ll give it a test run. :)
Great video Michael! I read all the black & white Essential volumes of this years ago. Great artwork and cast of characters with some interesting subplots. Thanks for the discussion and close-ups.
Love the video!! Tomb of Dracula is awesome. If anyone's wanting to get the physical form Marvel Masterworks is your best bet,, volume 3 is coming out in October and the first 2 volumes aren't hard to find.
Good stuff! I managed to acquire Vol.2 of the Omnibus a few years ago for a very reasonable price and I have the first 3 volumes of the complete collections as well as that Essential ToD. Great artwork throughout and a fun read. Drac is so hilariously arrogant and self-aggrandizing!
That was a pretty nice presentation. Thanks. I just purchased the whole lot (except from 4 issues including of course #1 + 10), of off eBay. Simply because I was soo dissapointed that the Omnibus didn't print the letters from the original books. Can't wait to recieve them!
I only read a handful of Tomb of Dracula when I was a teenager and recall loving it, particularly the artwork. I preordered the first Marvel Masterworks of this series, which is released right in time for Halloween on October 26th!
The black and whites weren't comic books, even though they were in that format, but full sized magazines. This allowed them to escape the rules for comic books and actually had some bare breast and bottoms in them. Vampire Tales was another of them.
Tomb of Dracula is one of the few Marvel comics that I read very little of, but your review makes me want to pick that one up. I loved the character of Dracula in Marvel, especially his runs in Dr. Strange, which I read all the time. I seem to recall him fighting Thor once, when they were both trying to get lightning to strike each other. That made me laugh for some reason. 😀
Dracula's part of the Marvel cannon?? Never knew that!! That reminds me, did you know that Kool-Aid Man had a series of Marvel comics in the 80s? I saw a funny video that theorized Kool Aid Man would be the next big MCU villain based on his comic appearances.
Rooting for the bad guy can be a lot of fun; poor Dracula was just trying to defend himself form those mean vampire hunters. I agree that the tryout drawing was well worthy of hiring that guy to do the series. You'd think they'd lock people into contracts to always finish more series than they tended to do.
I had the entire TOD collection when I was a kid but my parents made me throw them in the trash, they were afraid I would get nightmares. Evetytime I think about this, it stings.
@@michaelk.vaughan8617 🤣🤣🤣 At the time I didn't mind that much cause I was more into super-hero comics as a kid. But when I reached my teenage years and got into horror, I realised the true horror of the situation! The treasure I had in my hands. The great work Gene Colan was producing too. I always aim to get those all back.
Blades 1st appearance was in The Tomb of Dracula. 👍 I Have a few of the original comics of The Tomb. Crazy all the Stuff we have both read. Got 2 Be Our ages.🤷♂️ You should see the pigments in some of the original comics. LoL. Did You ever write in 2 the Comic pages at the End of Most Comics??? Some of My favorite X-Men, and Their Annuals are With Dracula. If You haven't read them .....You need 2. A Storm, and Wolverine Vampire is a scary thing. 😨 Ah...You Showed Blade.👍 I can't do Comics any Way , but Real. LoL. This from the professed Kindle reader. LoL.🤣 Great Video. 👍😁👍
I’ve actually read a ton of comics on my tablet. It’s pretty much just for comics. I tend to read stuff new to me that way and if I like it I get it in print. I only can do this because I have a full size tablet.
Comic book scare....dismal period.....EC comics out of business....I'm intrigued. On Amazon Australia Tomb of Dracula v1 is listed at $633, and v2 is a steal at $177 🤣🤣 That artwork is great.
Jack Palance, like Charles Bronson and Jimmy Stewart, was from the formerly great state of Pennsylvania.....

Marvel deliberately under prints it’s books. I suspect Doctor Doom is in charge of their reprint program.

Oh man, I wish I had the second omnibus! For the price it’s going for you would think it’s printed on gold!
That was a pretty nice presentation. Thanks.

That fight with Thor does sound fun.
Yes he's also had a run in with the Silver Surfer & the X-Men.
Well done
Thanks!
I have the monster of Frankenstein omnibus.the Dracula one is tough to find and very pricey. Great video sir new viewer here!!!!!
Excellent! Thanks for watching!
Great review! I used to have a really old single issue of this, not sure what I did with it…
I wish I still had mine!
Cool! I think the B&W version you show at the beginning looks better. Too bad it's on the cheap paper.

I forgot about that! He will probably be showing up on Disney + any day now!
The Dracula IDW Artist Edition is pretty awesome.
I had a look at that. You are right, it’s great.

You would think! The creative team sure worked out well on this book!
I just sold my entire Tomb of Dracula run . All issues and Giant-Sized . Kinda regret it but oh well ... on to another run .
I hope you got a ton of money 💰
