This vid is soooo right, the minute in origins a metal blade on your wrist being thrust into someone's neck didnt kill them, I knew this franchise was going in the wrong direction, RIP Assassins Creed
I think it may be way to early to decide if it will be good or not, Im sure Ubisoft knows what they're doing and have something planned for the game. As I see it, This will basically be an improved Origins, with better graphics and gameplay, in a new, probably bigger world that isnt just a big fat desert, So new exploration, set in an awesome era with the war between Sparta and troya or whatever, with tons of emphasis on Greek mythology etc. I think it will be great.
The reason why they're not wearing hoods is because the whole idea of hoods came from the medjay and Bayek in Origins. This game is set hundreds of years before Origins, the creed wasnt founded at the time of the game. I do understand where you come from with the "It shouldnt be called an AC game", but it isnt all about Templars and Assassins playing cops and robbers, The old civilization also plays a big part in the lore and story of Assassins creed.
I agree. When I saw it being advertised I was boggled as to how it relates to assassins’ in any way. You’re a mercenary. The game looks cool but there’s NO mention of the creed. At least origins was supposedly the beginning of the order.
I would've liked the game if they would go back to the original combat... How is it that AC1, AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations on 360 and ps3 had better combat. It was so smooth with the counters and realistic dodging etc etc etc. I look at the combat/free running in these new games and it looks hideous, fake and with extremely stiff characters. It's sad... And just a side note "Ancient Greece" especially 400 BC where this game takes place, was occupied by Albanians, not Greeks. But I guess they can't go against the lies history has been telling them for thousands of years...
Ofcourse it's a copy and paste of origins, You cant expect them to come out with a new enginge and new everything every year. Or even every two years. Its essential for games to reuse stuff from previous games, otherwise they just wouldnt have the budget to push out game after game like this. But is it really that bad that they are "copy and pasting" Origins? New characters, a new story, many improvements to just about everything I can imagine, just in the same Engine / time era (sort of). I dont think that Odyssey will be that bad at all.
TrueNordic As I said, I personally love AC ORIGINS, and just as an information I expected change since AC was said to not become an annual franchise, so I expected at first this game to come out next year and therefore have good changes
+ARSO If by "Good Changes" you mean a completely new enginge, new animations, new props etc. It isn't the time thats the issue, its the money it costs. AC Origins took 2 years to make because of the incredible amount of new props, animations etc. that they had to make for the game. Just because this one is comming out after only a year, doesnt mean that it will be worse than Origins in any way. They didnt have to make new animations and props, atleast not as many as they did before anyways, So it makes sense for them to release it after only a year, as they are reusing a big majority of things from Origins.

First of all the both games took three years to make not 2, Odyssey is simply using the name of the assassin to sell more, it’s a 300 simulator based on a witcher world , that’s clearly not what the fans want , I was expecting to see new things, not new props or animations but definitely new things as I have clearly stated that Assassin’s Creed was NOT supposed to come back to a yearly release so that would indeed give them the extra time. You don’t seem to understand the issue of this game that I have clearly explained in the video: it’s not an Assassin’s Creed game about The Assassin’s Creed! That’s the problem not the props or add ons or new features or setting or mechanics or location or wtv! Fans and loyal customers want an Assassin’s Creed that evolves the story not one that just is there to fill a gap in between two years ! This game is doing exactly like solo a star wars story, releasing sooner than everyone expected and trying to do things that not a lot of people asked for while it seems to fail at standing out as an important and must see/play! In other words it will clearly not do well. Ubi seems to be trying to create the demand for assassin’s creed games which as a customer you don’t want to feel like the company is trying to hard to make you buy their game, especially when it’s not what you kinda want , the process of offer/demand is therefore not existent and this game will likely sell less than Assassin’s Creed Origins and for good reasons. Now if you don’t just get that, that it’s not that this game is bad or anything but rather failing at multiple things regarding the fans than don’t bother explain yourself mate
TrueNordic the assassin’s need the old civilization stuff to progress the story, now let me ask you something do you believe the story progresses if there is first civilization stuff but no assassins nor templar nor present day?
It's still an AC game, the isu there, pieces of Eden are there, Templars are there, freedom v chaos are main themes, the leap of die is still there, modern days there, Parkour's still there, from Kassandra promotional statue it looks like the Robes are even there, it seems the only things missing are the order itself and a hidden blade

Agreed. Precisely why I skipped Origins and why this doesn't interest me. Looks like a fun game on it's own though.
Although Black Flag is one of my favourite games. I think AC3 was the last ‘good’ Assassin’s Creed story. True templars and assassins.

It's just a Origins with same graphics and physics but different story.Nothing new....

The assassins creed games arent just about the fuckn assasssins tho, theres been tons of shit regarding the old civilization and shit
