I really appreciate the perspective of this video. A lot of it was as if we were right next to you. I have always had Arctic dreams, but I'm also disabled and would never be able to hike like that. This made me feel like I was right beside you! Dramatic panoramas are beautiful, but those of us living vicariously through a screen appreciate the close ups, too!
I agree, as I know I would never have the courage to climb the mountain! I would be paranoid about slippingw or encountering a polar bear looking for a snack,
I live in Australia and like you probably will never get there. I’m 70, lived in Sweden years ago, been past the Arctic circle in Norway but with Covid, travel that far may be years away or not at all. Thank you Cecilia for showing us this area. I’m fascinated with Pyramiden.
Hey Tamera, i too am disable but i will make it so Svalbard...unfortunately our trip was cancelled twice due to covid and have developed lung disease since and i probably will never be able to hike like what Cecilia does (anyway you need to have a gun to get out of longyearbyen) but once i get there i will try my best to do things...and make some youtube videos i really want to inspire people struggling with special needs and show them whats available. I wont know how i will be coping until i am there but for sure it will be daring for me. I have big travel dreams, i hope one day you can travel to destinations you dream of and make the most of it. I agree with you these close up shots were great to get a feeling it reminded me when we went on Etna (italian volcano in sicily) it was my daughters dream to hike on one of the crater.. We did it...the moving rocks, steep grounds were very similar, at times a bit scary but we loved it so much we came back on 3 seperate occasions over the years try different sides of the volcano and craters. Svalbard I am so ready! All the best Tamera Take care Sabrina 🇨🇵 🇬🇧 and Thank you Cecilia😘
Cecilia, I really enjoyed watching this hike with Lyn, Grimm and Fenris!! I can’t do this kinda stuff anymore because I have Magic Encephalomyelitis. Before this I lived for exercise, walking/hiking, running, cycling and 4 times weekly gym sessions and 3 long swims. It’s so beyond sad that it’s been taken from me along with so much else but I found your videos last year and decided I’d watch, previously I’d avoid stuff I used to do but can’t anymore but watching your vids is something I really look forward to now!! I’ve binged watched so many I’m struggling to find new uploaded content 😳 I’m so glad I found you guys!!! Take care, drink plenty and have time to rest!! 🍦🌻🥰🙅♀️🙅♀️
Absolutely stunning views! I'm glad you and Lynn are so outdoorsy and fit, because that hike would have killed me, lol. I'd have ended up in a heap at the bottom. I love that the dogs were so good with this adventure. I'm so excited to see Polar Night in your newly remodeled home! Thank you for sharing your life with us!
Amazing hike! Such phenomenal views :) I think it is awesome that you spend so much of your time outdoors staying fit and enjoying nature. Grim is your perfect workout companion :)
Such stunning videography!! 😍 Never ceases to amaze me! Also, how incredibly strong are you both! Y’all didn’t just breeze past a bloody tuff hike, but also handled your floof babies so well, while at it! 🐩🐕 .. with possibilities of a Polar Bear encounter & what not! WOMAN POWER! 💪🏼
My goodness, Cecilia!!! This is absolutely my all time favorite video of yours to date!! The close ups of the fall vegetation, the slo-mo shots, the drone perspectives, the gorgeous, inspiring guitar music, interspersed with the comedic antics of Grim and Ferris, and your crawling up the mountainside, Fenris snuggling closer and closer as you’re trying to talk and the stunning views at the top! Lynn is such a good friend (the kind that will be right beside you in all your crazy adventures), and seems really nice, and is beautiful to boot! Please tell her hello from us and thank her for allowing herself to be filmed. And thank you for such a stellar video.💝😍 It’s still 110F where I am, and autumn is my absolute favorite season, so I loved it doubly for that reason. Have a well-deserved rest now! 😘
What a wonderful reward for a slippery climb! Gorgeous. I can’t help but imagine what the top is like in the middle of winter when the winds are fierce and the snow is flying! Grim is quite the class clown. BTW I am now addicted to June’s Journey. Not sure yet if I’m thanking you! 😁
Love the music. Incredible hike and glad you didn't hike alone. A bit scary at times. The dogs are always so energetic and happy. Even though it seems barren there is beauty all around you. Stay safe.
So beautiful. Takes me to my own mountain climbings days... I like the music change in the video from others, too. Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience.
Wow, what a hike! I was nervous watching you! Grim and Fenris are so adorable! Beautiful photography and music selection. How nice to have a friend like Linny! Thanks for taking us along on your beautiful hike!
Cecilia, your videos are always so peaceful and grounding, and I am always impressed by your sense of adventure and positive outlook on life. Thank you for making these videos!
I love autumn. 🍁💛 Good thing Grim and his brother don't get tired. It's a long hike. Grim can't tell you with words, like: "Cecilia, I slept badly, my joints hurt me. I can't do the hike today."
You are always so upbeat, love that about you. So nice to have some one to hike with. Some people would say the landscape looks barren but I think it looks serene. About when do the northern lights start up? Dogs are such great company. Cheers
Can't wait for your northern lights videos 😁 I'm always intrigued of places that are absent of the sounds of society. No cars or trucks, no highway noise, no airplanes... how awesome thank you
I'm visiting Svalbard for the first time in little over a month. So I've been binge watching a ton of your videos lately, just to get a feel of how it really is up there. And i am so excited!
Oh, how wonderful! Would love to hear about your experience! Svalbard is way up top now on my "bucket list". Cecelia's stunning videos are such a gift! ❤
It's amazing that even in September by around 11pm it's still so bright. Such a crazy concept to someone like me who has lived in a place where the sun rises and sets every day...
stuff like this gives one an appreciation for trees and other plant life, which are what take piles of rock and gravel that you walked over and turn it into soil and dirt, somewhat more practical to walk over -- not to mention usually anchored and stabilized by roots. twould be a much easier climb at the same gradient but with proper soil coverage instead of all those rocks
So entertaining and delightful to watch. The dogs are so adorable and such wonderful companions. You are so brave climbing up that mountain. It gave me vertigo just watching. But what a view! Thank you for sharing this with us. 😍
You ladies had several of us right beside you, Thank You for that wonderful walk and the views are awesome . I think about the travelers to your country so long ago, how brave the pioneers where. I enjoyed your show with the lady that does polar bear jewelry. It is so different to where I live, Arkansas in the Ozarks foothills which is also beautiful. But you guys are so brave and interesting. You may have to open a B&B for people who will be drawn to your lovely town....
Wow, I loved all your Videos so far, but this one was especially beautiful 😍. The music was soooo great and fitting. And it had the perfect volume, because sometimes the music is very loud, when listening through headphones. Thank you so much for your work! 💚
Some days you just have to go walking. A blue sky with the Sun on your back and a mountain ridge under your feet is one of the best feelings in the world.
"We chose to walk on the ground" my smart ass thinking **as opposed to walking on the air??** then she explained why and I can't help but think why am I like this?? lol Great video as always Cecilia! Love seeing Svalbard in full on summer mode and transitioning into fall.
My goodness Cecilia, your videography is seriously award worthy! I was watching you hiking and climbing, and it made me appreciate when you moved the camera through the grasses, because that would have been my view once I fell over. LOL Thank you for sharing the natural beauty of where you live. It truly is awe inspiring! 🤗❤️😊
Wow! So beautiful out there. All the mountains there are so flat, inviting to go up and spend so time looking at those amazing views. I would do such hikes almost every two weeks in Summer (providing the weather is good - plus, no wind, good visibility), at least that would be the ideal :). The mountain next to your cabin is also interesting. I would go up a little bit, sit on some stone and look at the view in front of me. Of course, you can't climb up there, but just a little bit, to get a better view.
What a beautiful hike !!! It was hard but the view was gorgeous !!! You're very lucky !! It was a good idea !!! Thank you so much for this wonderful video !! It's like a dream !! It's magic !!! :-)
I am not a hiker (and never was) but I LOVE watching you do your hikes…… and I am so glad I found your channel… what interesting terrain! All those loose rocks… and what are those cute white puff flowers?
Good job both of you! That was some climb for sure. It's always good to have a friend to do things with since our dogs would leave us in a heart beat LOL!!!
Cecilia!!! What a wonderful hike! Gorgeous views!! Grim was obviously excited the whole way, probably smelling everything in Svalbard from the top of the hill (cocaine for woofers). Cheers from Texas!
