Only close bolt when on target & ready to fire/No "sky-loading", although they are safety rules, they are VERY practical because you don't want to "cook", (or even warm), your round longer than necessary. What I said are observations I made from watching the Pro's ways to winning. Thanks fer sharing because I am a factory Howa shooter & I get them rebarrel'd when need be, imo - the Howa 1500/Weatherby action, (copy of the old Sako action - & a Superb copy at that), are as good an action as money can buy, wether it be production OR custom. I am DEFINITELY NOT a fan of round-bottom actions like everything else out there in custom or production with the exception of Mauser & clones.
Hey Eric! Thanks for the comment! Yes bolt down when on the target! Still practicing and will get the hang of it. I used to shoot a Howa with a custom Bartlein barrel and it shot incredibly well. I will te barrel to that again one day. I agree with you on the action. It’s really great value.
Yes Sir, here in j.s.a. also, (spell is correct - it's the "new" spelling), &......world-wide agenda is disgustingly obvious, BUT - Thank goodness - none of this can't be manufactured "privately"......lol
@@ecprecisionshooting No worries fellas. I subscribed because I like to support small firearms channel just staring out, that I I’m a rifle enthusiast as well. Cheers 🍻 🍻 from Australia.
Think about this, NRA Long Range Champions have been shooting 308, and 6.5 for years and thus there is a knowledge base for standard loadings that will always deliver the best results in all rifles. Thus, while entertaining, working on a load for 6.5 is not a necessary activity. That’s good because any 6.5 notion will have a washed out barrel by the time load development is finished.
Amazing to me is how shooters put their hands on side and thumbs up. If you look at your hand normal position. You are now actually turning it against its natural position.
It's done to minimize the influence your hand has on the gun. If you wrap your thumb you instinctively add pressure to the firearm by squeezing. Now, if you could add the exact same amount of pressure the same way every time then it wouldn't matter. Because that's very difficult not wrapping your thumb solves that problem. When trying to achieve extreme precision consistently everything matters.
Hey skilpadjie. As long as your doing it consistently it probably doesn’t matter where your thumb sits. The straight grip like mine favours itself the thumb on the side
Copy that 👍. Believe it or not but there are still shooters out there who think that Howa rifles are not accurate. They know nothing other than what what they hear from others.
Good stuff! Greetings from Portland, Oregon
Hey Andre!! Thanks a million!!
I have had one Howa 1500 Stainless Varmint in 308win and with Lapua Scenar 168gr is was a nailer.
Sounds like a great recipe you have there!!
We will need you people sooner than you might think .Keep practicing ..😅

Harping on people to follow competition rules when they aren't shooting competition is a bit silly. The way they shot in this video is perfectly fine.

Is it easy to find loading components in sa? It’s like pulling teeth in the us without getting ripped off..
Matthew, we have to import most our components from USA! Hehe! We struggle to get a reliable flow of components! And wow it’s expensive too!!

Are saying that a 6.5 barrel will be worn out by the time you get a load for it?
Mooi Boys. Good Shooting

Very nice..
Thanks so much 🙌🏻
I shoulda bought one. My buddy has a Howa 1500 and it's more accurate than my old Rem 700
Hey! Don’t you worry! I have a video coming up showing how accurate my friend is with his Rem700 😅😅
Waar het jy die primers en punte in die hande gekry?
Andreas, Ek het die primers by die CO-OP in Lorrain PE gekry - Hulle nou uitverkoop. En die punte van Habitat Africa se Online store.
@@ecprecisionshooting Great dankie, Awesome video!
Mate, what OAL were your 6.5's to feed with the magazine. Cheers, great vid

What brand of rifles are you fellas shooting?
Howa 1500

Only 400m. What rifle and scope is the 308?
Yea only 400m haha! The .308 is a Howa varmint barrel with an Element Helix 6-24 FFP scope
