We Start at Another Hot Lake Right Now - Classic Bass Champion's Tour Stop 1 Lake Okoboji

It has been almost 20 years since I had been down to this lake and it has changed a lot. Last time I was there there wasn't a lot of big fish and now it is one of the premier lakes in our region for big bass. I was able to catch one of them in practice but that only lead me astray from what was going on. I was amazed that the fish on the lake were way behind the fish up in the Minnesota. Anyways, the fishing season has started and we once again are in the hole and need to climb back out. This is how the day went.

Do you think all these anglers and yourself out prefishing affected your spots on the day of the tourney? I'm just curious on your thoughts.

That is a very good question.
On the west side of the lake I stayed out deep and I don't think they were grouped up yet where I was fishing. There may have been fish still coming up to spawn. That 6 lber was possibly prespawn? I know I have to get away from catching one or two and practice and leave in this format. There were a lot of post spawn largemouth but I heard there were still some spawners coming up.
On the east side my plan b spot was where the first half leader was. I caught a short and 3.5 in practice there and left. The other rock places just weren't loaded. There was a lot of people fishing in current related areas. So those I'm sure were pretty smoked.
