- This was taken off the 1998 Mary Poppins DVD (the ONLY DVD release in the Masterpiece Collection line.) The standard 1994 Masterpiece theme is replaced with the version of the theme from the Walt Disney Classics logo (the muffled-sounding version heard on 1992-1994 releases), and actually fits with the logo pretty well. This also showed up on most 1996-1999 laserdisc titles utilizing the logo.

Hm...I've been going over it, I think I like this one a bit better than the VHS variation. It just sounds a bit higher quality (considering it's DVD format), and the lasting moments deem a bit better to me overall. Though in the end, this, the VHS variant, and the 80's "Classics" logos are all amazing logos because of that similar fanfare. To top it all off, the 90's Disney Pictures logo comes right after each, providing for one epic logo combo.

Oh, I see. Yeah, I think it'd look beautiful, especially in full HD. Now that I look at it, I think I like the WD Classics logo a bit more than WD MPC, even though they're both great. WDC was a bit more complex (a la Sorcerer Mickey), but that was the early 80's. Let's face it though, no Disney logo is worse than the first 70's Neon Mickey or the early 80's Disney Classics logo. Yeeesh. o.o
I know this is late, like very very late, but I liked the Neon Mickey logo. It was kinda cool for it's time

It should always be used from 1994 to 1999 with the original and distorted and remixed and remixed and distorted music versions from as to most.

Better quality than Video CD (VCD).
It's weird that the laserdisc and DVD versions of this logo uses the 1992-1994 WDC fanfare, while the VHS version uses its own fanfare.
But hey, at least it's just to not confuse people on what format of a Disney film from the WDMC releases you are watching it on.
Early Masterpiece Collection laserdiscs used the regular 1994 theme as well, but some reason beginning in 1996, they stuck with the Classics version of the theme.
That version is on my video tape of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh The Story Behind The Masterpiece.

Probably that Mary Poppins DVD where did you ripped this logo is very rare because I looked many openings of it and all of them have the 1991 WDHV logo.

I had the 1997 VHS of Mary Poppins as a child, this wasn't featured on it.
That's because this version of the logo was mostly exclusive to non-VHS releases by 1996, appearing on many laserdiscs and the 1998 "Mary Poppins" DVD.

Yes, it is a beautiful fanfare. One of their best, along with, of course, the blue 80s/90's/early 00's logo. And as for your idea, it sounds great; they should totally modernize this. But, visually, are you referring to the Masterpiece Collection animation, or the WD Classics animation that came before the MC?
