By this time he is a widower who made a huge mess at his first attempt to return to living his life. He started by wanting to take revenge on a family who wronged his family. This project was unsuccessful in terms of Emir’s direct aims. Instead, he learnt that revenge benefits no one. Feriha never took revenge on Hande, and Chancu, even though both these women stopped at nothing to humiliate Feriha and her family, and destroy Emir and Feriha's relationship. Feriha was naive, stupid, to tell lies but there no malice intended. and Feriga did no harm to her tormenters. Emir's attempt to humiliate Yavuz's family, and to destroy the relationship between Yavuz and his beloved sister, went wrong because Emir was reminded that Feriha never took revenge on Hande or Chancu. Fetiha forgave. Emir also learnt that it is not okay just to cause chaos and then to walk away from it. Feriha took responsibility for the chaos she caused and tried to fix it, even if it was at great emotional cost to her and her beloved Emir. After Feriha’s death, Emir tried to clear up his mess, by not walking away from Gunesh, making sure that Gunesh doesn’t end up in a marriage she didn’t want, even though it might cost him his life, or it might cost him to live his life in ways that he didn’t really want to live it. He knows that Feriha would feel uncomfortable with his attention to Gunesh, but he also knows that Feriha would think it unacceptable for him just to walk away from his mistake. He needs Gunesh to accept his apology or he has to do everything he can to make her know that his apology is sincere. Even if it means that he has to change the way in which he lives his life. For Emir, how he lives his life after Feriha, is not important. Nothing changed for him by Feriha’s death. He will love Feriha until his last breath. And the way he shows it to her, is to continue to learn about the values she deemed important, and to implement that in his life. Paying your and your families debt, not taking money from friends, accepting that working in lowly honest jobs has merit, taking care of the illegitimate child, taking care of family and also other people in your life. like Feriha took care of Guncçe and taught Koray how to act appropriately. Feriha is hero. Emir eventually understands her. His efforts in doing so, and his love for her, lakes him a hero too. Hopefully Feriha will be aware of the positive impact of her life on her beloved. Feriha’s achievements in her short life was enormous. She secured a financial future for her family as well as her husband maintaining to her own red lines, she developed and sharpened her own business skills, she and Emir brought together their their two warring families, She and Emir lived moments of utter joy in their love, while maintaining Feriha.s red lines, Feriha taught Emir that poor people are no different to rich people when it comes to basic human values, loving, and caring, joyfulness and more, she taught Emir that living a life without the glitz and glamour is as acceptable as one with all those trappings, she taught him that there is honour in working as a waitress, or labourer, as long as the rewards for the labour is honest. She taught him that poor people don’t want money handouts, even if they could use it. Poor people just want to be treated as equals and be given the same chances.
