I notice the Harbach kits have 100k bleeder resistors instead of 50k, is this a better idea? Just refurbishing a Heathkit SB1000 in the UK.

Thank you for the comment , the 100k resistors dissipate less heat than the stock 30k ones. The capacitors used today far exceed the original stock ones.
