Doug I am 64 years old and have followed you for a number of years- I got so excited when I saw you in that pack boat that I started yelling - He is gonna go get Beaver sticks to to carve a Beaver stick with. My neighbor came over to see what all the commotion was and here I am giddy as a eight year old. This made my day brother. You are a visionary artist in both wood and film. Thanks for what you do here! Great Beaver too!

I loved how you left the evidence of the beavers signature on the piece you chose. I live near a river and will come across a chewed off branch. I have made walking sticks leaving the signature at the top. Well done.

The beaver is cute. I seem to focus on animals figures to try and carve. Mine are not realistic , kinda on the cartoon side until I get better at carving eyes . Thanks Doug

Too cool! I watch: Post 10 on TH-cam. He clears out beaver dams out of culvert & clears other types of water ways & drainage. It is very relaxing a lot like Doug's videos.

When you picked it out, were you trying for a certain wood species, or just something that caught your eye? Sure seemed to carve easily.
Figured they would all be poplar or alder so was really looking for the best beaver chewed stick lol

Hello Doug, thank you for the wonderful videos you have put out. I have one request for you, could you please explain what these three types of carving are: Flat Plane, Bark, and Chip. I see them used everywhere but no one tells you what the difference is between the three. Thank you again for the education you have provided for me and a lot of other new carvers.
