We ran the Racebox Micro at ROSSA alongside SkyRC and the ROSSA speed traps. The Racebox results were spot on and enabled me to see how far past the traps I was when I hit peak speed. I loved it so much I immediately ordered a box full of them for our store! Due in this week.
I've been waiting for someone to review one of these. More precise, lots of data, a little less intuitive, though. Definitely going to pick one up and looking forward to playing with it. Thanks for the video! 👍
I'm pleased to see a new product option to record speeds, but im not sure these will catch on. Just too many steps involved for the average speed run user. Most of us just want to know speed. Not cheap either. This looks more aimed towards circuit/track data. Either way, I think there is certainly a spot in the market for a more cost effective speed run GPS device.
Very cool, been checking them out since I saw them in speedrun builds :) typo' MICRO bud :) another great video... love your content James, keep that progression coming :)
Thanks a lot JM I really appreciate you sharing and helping us step up our speed run game.👍🏾💪🏾 ordered it and it’s on the way. You reminded me that the sky RC gnss use to show the decimal and one day with app it was gone. I also did a comparison video of the garmin 201 runner and skyrc gnss on my other channel Matrix RC 3 years ago. And I discovered the gnss indeed does round up or down if the speed is .5 and above 👆.4 below 👇. I’m a nerd too and it was a fascinating discovery. What motivated me to test it was a debate from other RC speed runners who claim that you could fudge the speed on the skyrc. I forget the guys name but you may recall his channel but it was in response to you and Raz shifrin speed run on how you and others was getting faster and faster in the 180mph range. He wanted to stick with the garmin 201 which he believed was more accurate. Which was debunked by raz testing and showing that it was off by 3-4 mph. So with this new and more precise technology we will have guys battling over a millisecond. 🤣👍🏾 and it will bring more truth to the speed we do. And you can’t argue what’s true. So I can’t wait to try mines out when it arrives. I’ll keep my cars on the shelf til then.
As RC nerds, if we plug it into our receiver which is a selling point to me. Do you think it will draw enough power away from our speed runs? Probably not but want to hear your thoughts about it. Thanks for reviewing this. Just nervous about showing your location.
Very cool but a bit more complicated than the gnss might hurt sales but I’m sure now gnss will come out with a knew model and the war begins just like cell phones lol
Do you plan to run both the GNSS and the new Micro on the same car to prove it out⁉️ - The new unit looks cool but, looks to be lot more work to get the info out of it (pros and cons for sure) I hope SKYRc/GNSS units get an update to allow for more info but, keep the software user friendly (like it has been) Thanks for sharing this new Speed/GPS unit with us 🩷
@@a2rc yea he said in the video that he is going to run them both for comparison. I can’t wait to see. And hopefully skyrc update theirs too. They did it before

Wow, big step forward. Awesome to see the engineering going into these.
YOU BETTER CALL MOMMA BACK 🤣 thanks for reviewing this for us!
@@RandyPrater870 you better believe I did
Looks awesome..
That is pretty incredible. I'm actually surprised there is not a bunch more options. Nice unit.
Agreed, amazing new unit! Have one myself and it does a really good job
Thats cool they decided to make a smaller version of the mini.
And made it a stand alone unit

TOP!!😊
Picked one up after watching your video!
Nice video McCoy great new gps

Nice unit, does it come with the clear case or is that extra?

I just got mine yesterday! Pretty neat I grabbed the micro and the mini
Mini will good for motorcycle or car
Unfortunately it's not a stand alone so your phone has to stay with it
Sorry typo mini s correct the mini is not stand alone the mini s is a hard cased micro more like our regular GNSS from sky rc or power hobby

@@jamesmccoy204 Awesome and Thank you 🩷
now we def need to see a 224 back up pass with this new unit…
So far the skyrc has been right on with the RaceBox but we all will be running the RaceBox as a second gps next season I'm sure
Looks nice. The link provided doesn’t show a case or power connection…..
@@chrisrobey77 they all come as in the video now
@@jamesmccoy204was also concerned about that. Thanks 🙏🏾. Can’t wait to test it out.
Ive tried to create tracks at 3 different ovals now. It wont stay connected. I even strapped my phone to the car. nothing :(
Try Schumacher racing contact gt8 40 shore 103mm dia..beat that record 👌
