Open an Adobe Illustrator file and place a raster image on your Artboard. Select the image and navigate to Object Image Trace Make to trace the image with preset settings. To edit the paths immediately after performing the Image Trace, choose Object Image Trace Make and Expand.
With the Image Trace function, you can vectorize pixel-based images automatically in Illustrator. People often refer to this kind of function as Autotracing.
