Weird Al vs. Pharrell Williams - Tacky vs. Happy

Just tired of the incomplete or choppy comparison videos so played a little with Camtasia Studio to get, in my opinion, something pretty close to perfect. This one was pretty much a gimme since Weird Al recorded this at about the same speed as Pharrell Williams (Weird Al was known for recording his parodies at a much faster speed than the original, not so much nowadays) Mind you this is not a move-for-move comparison but sound-for-sound so there is audio for both songs. You can hear where his parody mimics perfectly the original. These songs match so perfectly you can barely hear that there are two playing unless you listen deliberately for each.

_Happy_ is basically vanilla ice cream with choco sprinkle on top. The video is good, the editing was... very good, at least for me. And it's fits perfectly with song's theme.
_Tacky_ , in the other hand, basically a fruit soda mix capped with strawberry ice cream for float. Unique cinematography and everyone involved basically trying to one-upping themselves while having fun, and the energy basically bleeds outside the screen even more than _Happy_ .
Both are good, if different. But Weird Al fans tend to be internet proud bunches who are vocal and have strong bias against mainstream music. Including me.

That was pretty cool! _Tacky_ was heard more prominently by me, but it was great that you let both videos play. Of course, _Tacky_ is a better song, but I think most Weird Al fans agree with me there.

Lyrical they are both there. I must say I heard Tacky before Happy. Its just the way Yankovic's makes it sound its as if both songs are the original and release at the same time. Wouldn't it be rad if Pharrell and AL made a co-lab!! no?!!

Al's choices for parodying are all good songs, but I generally come to prefer his versions. Then again, I was the weird little kid who loved my dad's 78 copy of Beep Beep, or The Little Nash Rambler, or whatever it was called. When I was a bit older, I listened to Doctor Demento. Some weird kid used to send in tapes to the doctor. I think his name was Al--like my dad.

I thought it was pretty crazy that Weird Al and Pharrell write songs together. I'm not sure about other songs, but this song and the song "Word Crimes" are both accredited to Weird Al and Pharrell.
