News flash! When someone makes a Will, that someone has the right to give their money and possessions to whomever they want to leave it to. If your grandparents wanted to leave your cousins more money, they would have done so.
Why does OP have to give up his cat. That was incredibly cruel and controlling of his wife. As for the woman with the implants, NTA. He just wants to think he can always recognize whether someone had them. She proved them wrong. Do you really think you want to be such a know it all?
Who did he buy the bottle for? How dare he open YOUR BIRTHDAY GIFT AT ALL! You had every right to pour it down the drain, or regift it to whomever. He was totally out of line.
Never let relations know when you get 'found money'. Admitttedly, inheritance is near impossible to keep secret unless the testator requires it of the executor. Other people are notorious at being eager to help spend other people's money.
First story reminds me of my grandmother, now long since dead, who ROUTINELY spewed that WASP racism, even torpedoing a relationship that had ONLY started between a women and myself. Pure evil.
The neices are angry with the wrong person. The joy-riding car thief stole their opportunity, and your parents were also responsible through neglect before the act.
Wow. You must be a far left liberal. Blaming others for a pos being a pos. I should be able to leave a pile of cash in my truck and come back a month later to my truck and money. Then again I live in rural Texas where you get caught, you aren't going to like your reward
I'm a social drinker myself but even I know better than to ever ever ever ever ever ever bring a bottle of alcohol to the home of a recovering alcoholic. I've known many alcoholics who can't control their drinking and it's not pretty.
You can discuss that the cat will help you emotionally at your loss. At 12 yrs old time may solve your baby problem if you lose bubba to old age before a child joins the family. I know I would hold it against a spouse if bubba passed away while living away from me.
First story: Getting someone fired because you disagree with their personal beliefs and were butt hurt by their moronic comments, makes you a Karen, not a hero. It is not your job to police people's thoughts, unless you are anti free thought and free speech. As for the Karen vs Rancher story, I think the author watches too much Yellowstone
Had some city folks move to the country side and then try to compain about the manure smell from the surrounding farm fields, they were basically told "it's the country side, if you don't like it go back to the big city".
You know, my brothers and sisters and I were taught, from the time we were small children, that you respect every person you meet unless that person does something that negates that respect. I had an adopted nephew who we all loved dearly. There was a song many years ago, the words in part being: "Jesus loves the little children, all the children in the world. Red or yellow, black or white, Jesus loves the little children of the world." We lost that nephew at only 38 years of age a year ago. It was a terrible loss for his Mom and Dad, and his sister (also adopted). My nephew was a wonderful person and he is sorely missed. I'm so opposed to racial discrimination and the hatred of one race for another. Hatred of any human being is absolutely WRONG. I might hate or despise wrongful acts by others, but I refuse to hate any human being.
Brother flexing the Whiskey. OP NTA. This was not meant to be a gift, it was your brother being completely malicious, it was uncalled for and vile. you do not owe him or anyone anything.
I do not understand why people want other people to go against a will. People make wills for a reason if it was supposed to be different then they would have written it different or just not left a will.
Honestly that reminds me of a episode of the later season of Roseanne when Darlene and Becky were both young adults. They were working at Roseanne's restaurant The lunch box, they happened to find a wrapped gift in the restaurant that was a bottle of brandy. And the card on it said, dear Leon congratulations on 5 years of sobriety. Love Roseanne
Inherited money is payment for all the time & energy that you gave them @ their bar & on the ranch. Nobody else in your family put in the effort & time. Keep it!!
As a city woman myself I hate city people moving to the country side and than try to push their city life on rural hard working families that lived there for centuries Doing the kind of work you expect of an area with farmers and ranchers. They forget that thanks to this hard working people they have food on their table.
People called the mayor, the police and everything? Really? Must be a town of 10 people. In the roommate, the story. So your roommate you’ll move out if she pays the difference for your rent on your new place. The reason they’re not moving into their own place cause it’s too expensive.
If you move out to let the bride and groom take your home from you, they will CONTINUE TO SEE THEMSELVES AS THE CENTER OF CREATION. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND THE REST OF US AS WELL, BREAK THAT EGOTISTICAL BUBBLE THEY INHABIT. JUST SAY.....NO!!!
I don't get some people who want to live in the rurale country, from all places where you can buy a house why buy a proporties next to a farm with livestock and then expect that farmers will give their way of living and working because the new folks can't stand the smell and noises that comes of a farm , they're nuts . I can't afford rurale country living otherwise....😊, i don't care about the smells and noises that come from a farm
I really don't understand the title story Karen, Why on earth would somebody who hates the country and ranches /move/ to the country in a house /right/ next door to a ranch? Of all the places she could've went?
Story about Bubba. NAH. I hate to say that, I was ready to say NTA if you had NOT brought up that the cat is aggressive to strangers. That being said, your wife has very justified reasons to want to avoid bringing him back if you plan to adopt especially. I understand you love him, 12 years is a decent age but not incredibly old one of my cats passed at nearly 22, I have another that is 19 and still very spry. If you plan on more children. And he remains aggressive to strangers, you may end up being right back where you were when you sent him to live with your parents. Home hopping is not good for him either. It's a rough situation with both having justified reasons for how they feel.
Inheritance story. NTA OP harsh as her life is, she is where she is because of her life choices. She chose to remain single while popping out children by different fathers. Her poor choices to have children she could not afford are not your responsibility. Your grand Mother was aware of her circumstances, and yet she still chose to split the inheritance equally. She had her reasons and they should be respected.
Absolutely NOT the a-hole. You know what, I'm glad to see that you've recovered from the alcoholism. That has to be a wicket thing that I've never endured -- I'm almost 79 years old, and I do not drink either and I don't allow it in my house. And, no, you should NOT give your sister your share of the inheritance. I've been through this myself, and that doesn't solve anything, giving your inheritance to another.
I don't think the cousins have the right to determine how the grandparents left their money. No, I don't think you should split the money. You never know how someone (your cousins) will react until there's money involved. No, you are NOT tearing the family apart, they've done that by their jealousy!
The $45,000 inheritance. Just look at the money as repayment for all the unpaid work you did, and tell the others that you will split the $43,000 based on the previously unpaid labor they had done to help out grandmother. Since they didn't do anything, they don't get anything.😊
"Oh no, my distant, mostly-estranged cousins won't ever talk to me again if I don't share my inheritance with them!" Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
The drone story in the United States you actually own the airspace above your property! If someone is flying a drone above your property low enough enough to look into windows you can knock it out of the air! And there is nothing the drone owner can do to you!
This is absolutely incorrect. In the United States, all airspace is exclusively controlled by the federal government and *none* of it is privately owned. Drones have the same legal status as manned aircraft and it is a felony crime to endanger them -- in some cases you could sue the drone operator for harassment, but in no case would you be legally in the right to take matters into your own hands.
When my sister had her first baby, my parents decided to set up the crib early. The idea was to get their dog accustomed to the baby being in the house. They put a squeaky toy in the crib and would squeak it to simulate the baby. We went out one day for a few hours. When we got home the bumper was torn out of the crib. Well, in spite of the panic that followed, the dog was fine with the baby. Apparently, Bridget just wanted to see what was in the crib. She would sit there with her chin on the edge of the mattress and just watch the baby.
There is absolutely no reason to get rid of a cat just because of a pregnancy. Cats are very protective of new members if their family and have been known to save the lives of babies in all kinds of ways. They have alerted parents to babies that have stopped breathing, are choking, being abused, chased off aggressive animals to name a few. It is only advisable to avoid cleaning the litter box or wear an N-95 mask and wash after if it can't be avoided.
I'd choose the cat. I wouldn't have gotten rid of the cat in the first place. If she had brought it up before getting pregnant, I would havd considered it, but I would not consider it when she pulls bs like that. It sounds like the miscarriage might have been a bit of a blessing. Though that guy is an asshole for abandoning his cat. The kid isn't more important. The kid is equally important. And the wife is less important. And the cat was first. If the partner has an issue with the cat, the partnership ends. If a kid would be problematic with the cat, then you don't have a kid. That's the responsibility you take on when you adopt a pet. If you already have a wife and then adopting a cat would be an issue then you don't adopt the cat. But if you already have a cat, then any issue your partner has with that cat is a real breaker if they can't get over it.
In the US it doesn't take refinancing to get someone's name off a house title. All it takes is a Quit Claim Deed to be filed with the County. Now to get the name off the loan is another thing. Can you take the Divorce decree to the lender and have it removed?
Why is it in these stories that so often the family members that will steal your car /also/ are incredibly terrible drivers that /immediately/ get into accidents, like they seemingly literally can't go for a single drive without crashing it, or maybe they've done it before but this is the first time they've been caught at it? Of course it could also be because the /reason/ they're going to steal a family member's car is because they don't have one of their own because /again/ terrible driver.
When you write your will, always include a penalty for fighting the decisions you made: “I fear my wishes may cause jealousy or resentment. Reflect on your own actions. Any attempt to dispute this will invalidates the inheritance to that person.” It’s also a good idea to mention everyone, even if you left them nothing: “I leave nothing to my brother, Robert. This is intentional. He knows why.” You can also include loving messages and explanations about the gifts: “l love all of my grandchildren. I’m so proud of them all. I hope this helps toward their financial independence. I’ve included an extra amount for Sally, in thanks for all her generous help as I got older. I can never repay her for helping me stay in my home.” The very best advice on writing your will is to go through an attorney. You can print off a form online and DIY. Don’t. Unless you don’t have anything for your survivors to fight about
I had a director of communications who took credit for my graphic design awards. I went to our superior and made a complaint. Two weeks later he left our university for a new position at an other university in a bordering state He had copied my awards with his name on them and had them hanging on the walls of his office.😡 Don't take credit for the work of others!
youve definatly gotten a lot better with your readings, as it doesnt here sound like an inflectionless AI. some improvment can still be done as the stories sound a bit rushed and not yet like stories comming from the writers themselves. my advice is to try to put yourself in the mental space of the writers like you were them and the stories will come across more impactful and overall much more entertaining. do keep in mind please the criticism offered here is completely ment as Constructive, and not destructive. there's a world of difference. one is well intended, the other isnt.
That is incorrect. FAA Part 107 license requirements apply solely to *commercial* drone operations; recreational drones are explicitly exempt from that license requirement under U.S. 49 USC 44809.
@@DesiArcyGenerally, yes - flying a drone in your neighborhood is legal, as long as it's in your line of sight and below 400 feet. It's illegal to capture photos, sound or engage in a neighbor's family activity without permission, according to California Civil Code Section 1708.8.Sep 9, 2023
@@AndreasPelonis You'll notice that the state laws lack authority to restrict the actual flight of the drone, which is exclusively federal via the FAA. Section 1708 is also a law pretty much unique to California; it's an anti-paparazzi statue which was rammed through by taking advantage of the media narrative surrounding Princess Diana's death.
I don't think you should divide the money evenly. I think you've done more for your grandparents than any of the others. You didn't plan this, you didn't cause this problem, they did. Yes, the family members are being ridiculous. Your family members are trying to take advantage of you. No one else is entitled to money your grandparents left to you. Splitting the money will only encourage your family members to continue to impose on you. I've been in a situation somewhat similar, and it's a rabbit hole you don't want to go fown.
When my grandchildren were born I was present at the hospital then spent the first 2 weeks they were home staying with my daughter to help her. After I went back to work I would leave work m, drive 40 minutes to her home to see her he babies then drive 30 minutes to my home. Going to see my grands if I have to drive to another state(not every day but at least once a week). Can’t understand this grandmother at all.
To the one whose grandmother left $45,000 to him. Do not split the money with ur cousins. You need to think about yourself and your future. Pay off ur bills, have the wedding save money for ur future. You never know what might happen where that money will be handing.
On the granddaughter's inheritance, the cousins are totally wrong. They were not there for the grandparents, as the OP was. It isn't a question of having money, it's a question of our cousins' "entitlement" and the cousins are entitled to no more than your grandparents' will!
There should be a contract that needs to be signed when someone moves next to a farm/ranch or race track. You are moving next or near too a place that can be noisy of smelly. You have to acknowledge you are, and and average racetrack,farm/ranch noises, smells that will happen, you can't complain.
The first story is the typical city person who thinks they can move our into the country and do whatever they want. Where I live, it's common for people to move out here and think that they can let their dogs run free. They don't understand that the leash laws apply out here too. The dogs have a tendency to chase livestock and kill chickens and when I was a kid, the dogs would mysteriously disappear. Back then the farmers kept a shotgun to stop the problems because the city people thought it was their dog's right to run free in the country. The last time I had to use that method of animal control, the owner came asking if I had seen his dog. I told him that if he was letting his dog run free, then most likely his dog did something and got himself shot. He wasn't out here in the country for very long once he understood that.
Taking pictures and videos at a public pool is protected by the first amendment. Assuming this was in the us, she had the right even though it's creepy, and the op was in fact committing several crimes. Assault, theft, and criminal harassment (could be switched with disorderly conduct or disturbing the peace). Taking the camera was theft. Grabbing in from her hands was assault. Showing off the stolen property to other people in front of her, taunting her, and inciting others to taunt her are all harassment. And if that lady actually has money, that cop probably cost the tax payers a hefty chunk of change. The cops weren't obligated to act, but they did fuck up by threatening her for reporting several crimes that were actually happening and that she was the victim of. I don't feel bad for her, but I do think op is just as bad and being in a cell next to hers. She did commit crimes by going into people's property and filming into their windows. The tax issues aren't criminal, but they would have some civil penalties. Its only a crime if it's intentional and ignorance is negligence, and it's easier for the IRS to go the civil route, anyway.
Oh, and the police wouldn't take her stand for not paying taxes. They'd take her stand for not having a business permit. And not having a permit is also a civil matter, usually. It depends on the business. The fact that it's food, she might have other compliance issues, and some of them might be criminal.
Don't give up trying to have children. A woman I know had 4 miscarriages but she had 4 children. My school teacher.and hunting partner and friend tried for 11 years to have a child. So they gave up trying. Then it happened and she became pregnant. They had a healthy boy.😊
Photographer u are a good photo taker already why else would your [entitiled] relatives want u to photo their childrens special events £100 a session sounds good half or less for everyone else
Your dad failed you and you don't need to forget or forgive. Luckily, my dad was a wonderful father and loved all of his three kids, two boys and a girl. Obviously he doted on my younger sister but never neglected us boys.
The old grandmother complaining about the pictures should have complained to the parents if the child, it is not the photographers job or responsibility to give her pictures. Also, she is claiming the pictures are bad, well if she never got any pictures, how would she know that they are bad? She needs to keep her lines straight as she sounds like she has no clue, she just needs something to complain about.
at 28.53 story would your family split it evenly with you if you asked ???? me i dought it so keep it for your self there just money hungry im sure if they went to grand parents houses more often they would of gotten more
Im willing to bet Karen was looking for a large tract for her fiefdom HOA ambition. Wouldn't be surprised if the fence breach was her.
News flash! When someone makes a Will, that someone has the right to give their money and possessions to whomever they want to leave it to. If your grandparents wanted to leave your cousins more money, they would have done so.
Your grandparents gave you the money, because of what your were to them. Keep what you've been given. Knowing you were there for them
Why does OP have to give up his cat. That was incredibly cruel and controlling of his wife.
As for the woman with the implants, NTA. He just wants to think he can always recognize whether someone had them. She proved them wrong. Do you really think you want to be such a know it all?
Bubba or the wife? Goodbye wifey.Bubba is the best name ever for a cat!! Rest in peace for my last 2 bubbas.

That last story was priceless! LMFAO!!!
Money gifted to you from your grandparents you worked the bar for free they may just have wished to finally give you the income you should have had
The problem with city Karens in rural areas is that they believe they are smarter, richer and they can just accuse and sue everyone to get their way.
Had some city folks move to the country side and then try to compain about the manure smell from the surrounding farm fields, they were basically told "it's the country side, if you don't like it go back to the big city".
They have two paychecks coming in to your one source. Stand your ground. Make them find somewhere else
You never give up Bubba cats. They are family. Your wife is being unreasonable.

Brother flexing the Whiskey. OP NTA. This was not meant to be a gift, it was your brother being completely malicious, it was uncalled for and vile. you do not owe him or anyone anything.

The way I see it with family and the money . Would they do the same for you ? Think on that .
People called the mayor, the police and everything? Really? Must be a town of 10 people.

I adore the voice that sounds like it belongs to a larger, mature male for the story from a 6 to 7 year old girl. That’s what makes these fun!
Wife , cat, my best friend, I'm sorry for you. Me, I'll keep my pet. Your wife needs to check herself
Keep it. It was you grandparents wish for you
Yes been accused of being a race traitor as well on insta. Everything now is private. 1:20

In regards to emotionally "gutting" the dad... Sometimes people need to experience that so that they can feel remorse and change and grow

Any attempt to dispute this will invalidates the inheritance to that person.”
It’s also a good idea to mention everyone, even if you left them nothing: “I leave nothing to my brother, Robert. This is intentional. He knows why.”
You can also include loving messages and explanations about the gifts: “l love all of my grandchildren. I’m so proud of them all. I hope this helps toward their financial independence. I’ve included an extra amount for Sally, in thanks for all her generous help as I got older. I can never repay her for helping me stay in my home.”
The very best advice on writing your will is to go through an attorney. You can print off a form online and DIY. Don’t. Unless you don’t have anything for your survivors to fight about
I had a director of communications who took credit for my graphic design awards. I went to our superior and made a complaint. Two weeks later he left our university for a new position at an other university in a bordering state
He had copied my awards with his name on them and had them hanging on the walls of his office.😡
Don't take credit for the work of others!
the one where the roommate expects op to move out so her BF can move in since they are getting married. why don't they move into BF's place?
youve definatly gotten a lot better with your readings, as it doesnt here sound like an inflectionless AI. some improvment can still be done as the stories sound a bit rushed and not yet like stories comming from the writers themselves.
my advice is to try to put yourself in the mental space of the writers like you were them and the stories will come across more impactful and overall much more entertaining. do keep in mind please the criticism offered here is completely ment as Constructive, and not destructive. there's a world of difference. one is well intended, the other isnt.
28:27: Babe enjoy the quiet, and make sure they keep up their end of the not talking to you bargain.
Keep all from cousins. If grands wanted them to have money they would have given it to them
The story with the drone is clearly bullshit. Drones are not allowed to be flown in residential areas without a license,
.
There is no excuse for racism in any situation.
I can't stand these people who ruin other people's lives because they don't like something they said. Petty people who need to get a life.
And the grandparents leaving the op money? Yeah, well, the cousin's parents got $85K so why aren't they giving money to their entitled brats?
Your family is being rediculous. Keep what your grandparents wanted you to have. If this causes a rift that on them.
To the one whose grandmother left $45,000 to him. Do not split the money with ur cousins. You need to think about yourself and your future. Pay off ur bills, have the wedding save money for ur future. You never know what might happen where that money will be handing.
The first story is a literal psycho tracking someone down online.
The Xmas I think in away she is the ass because it's the first Xmas without what the problem for once switching who you see on different days
Don't give up trying to have children. A woman I know had 4 miscarriages but she had 4 children. My school teacher.and hunting partner and friend tried for 11 years to have a child. So they gave up trying. Then it happened and she became pregnant. They had a healthy boy.😊

Getting revenge for a comment on anything on the Internet is *_the_** most pathetic.*
Hey i was friends with a kid when were teenagers at the time that was the11 th kid out of 16 children, and boy were they poor.
