If primary rectifier diode is short check and replace below: ONLY primary sections components listed below.
Check all rectifier diodes. (Replace all if possible)
Check MOFET (2N80)
Check C945 (Near opto coupler)
Check IN4148
Check 100 ohm resistor
Check 10 ohm resistor near MOSFET
I replaced all the above components and my SMPS is working fine.

Sir I have checked all the sections properly, cannot understand still no output, SB +5V is OK on purple wire, but no +5v on green wire. Cannot understand the problem please help sir. Cannot bring any Voltage on the Green wire in any case.

My smps dead as up u told I did test MOSFET ,capeciter and register all looking good power cable also working but it's dead I tested power wire in side of smps that's fine too ,fuse also good

I have Cooler Master Rs500 Smps . Smps No Shorting problem. Green and perpal DC 5v out . But when green and black short for Smps strat then smps not starting.
कुशवाहा जी, मेरा एक smps 160 का है, उसे ac पावर दे तो stand by वोल्टेज 4.4 दे रहा है, और जम्पर लगा दे तो on तो हो रहा है पर fan स्लो है, बाकी 3 नो रेल पर 3.3, 5 12 v शो करता है पर जम्पर हटाने पर बन्द हो जाता है !! आउट पुट में 3 caps डैमेज नजर आए तो उन्हें रिप्लेस कर दिया है, पर कोई अंतर नही पडा है जस के तस है !!! Mosfet, transistr, शॉटकी डायोड छोड़े तो लगभग सभी कम्पोनन्ट smd टाइप है !!!!सॉल्युशन बताए प्लीज !!!

@@RajkumarKushwaha जी, धन्यवाद आपका मदद के लिए !!आपके कहे नुसार आउट पुट साइड के ज्यादातर कपैसिटर बदल दिए है, क्योंकि सभी बहुत ही ऑड वैल्यू के है और मार्केट में सभी नही मिल पा रहे थे, इसलिए जो मील पाये वो बदल दिए और अभी के लिए समस्या हल हुई है और कंप्यूटर अब ऑन हो रहा है !!! पुनःश धन्यवाद !!!

Aap jo three pin diode bata rahe ho jisse 3.3V nikalta hai, uss IC ka mera SMPS pe number hai P40NF03. Yeh net pe search karne se mosfet bata raha hai. aap ne bhi 12:39 pe kaha ki wo mosfet hai.
Aap kripiya clear kijiye ki wo diode hai ya mosfet?

In my case, the usb devices would be detected and then disconnected automatically.So I checked the south bridge and north bridge on my motherboard and both were extremely hot to the touch (like a hot cup of tea).South bridge is directly connected to the USB ports.I remembered that I had cleaned my motherboard by removing all components including the heatsinks of north and south bridge.So i removed the heatsinks and reseated them.and finally got a cpu fan and positioned it directly over the heat sink of the north and south bridge.No problems after that.Extreme heat makes components function in an erratic way. Try this first.
Agar smps ka fan chal raha ho par computer mein koi display nahi aa raha ho toh kya problem hoga smps mein ?
Aap ne bataya ki agar output section ke diodes kharab ho toh smps on nahi hoga par mere smps ka fan chal raha tha aur computer mein display nahi aa raha tha toh maine smps ko nikal ke alag se on kia toh kuch seconds fan chalne ke baad fan band ho gaya aur sath hi andar se blast hua. Smps ko khol ke dekha toh fuse, rectifier, dono input capacitor aur do input transistors jal gaya tha. Toh mera question hai ki kya transistors kharab hone se out voltages nahi a rahe the aur computer ka display nahi aa raha tha ?
Mera dusra question yeh ki kya input transistors kharab hone se hi rectifier, capacitor aur fuse blast huye ? Output diodes sabhi ok hai
Dear very good. But you did not show the voltages on mosfet and 2 transistors. Secondly, you did not explained how to check all these components without connecting ac 230 volts. There is no link given in description regarding SMPS you talked about. Thanks.

Frequent connection and disconnection of USB devices is also caused by defective 5 volt capacitor on 5 volt output line.
