Tbh, I didn't pay much attention to those options. I only use the Default setting (Normalized Curve Parameter) if I need a percentage (0 to 1 means 0% to 100%) or segment length if I need a fixed distance. I guess there will be difference on curved lines.
I use reference line most of the time. I only use model line when I need to see them after I load them into other family or a project. Reference point and model line are totally different.
