  • The initial checkout of a Lasko 20" box fan model 2723C. This is a model from the Canada that was made in the early 2000s. It has an unusual combination of features that never appeared together on any models sold here in the US. It's quite a good fan, the airflow is very high volume, the noise level is low, and the power draw is reasonable.

    The front grill and blades remind me of 90's lasko, carry handle from the weather shield model of the time, and back grill from the 3733 box fans.

    Super cool find and I can’t believe that blade is running on a powerful tunacan motor with tons of amps to it so glad you got it I enjoyed the video can’t wait to see you use it in the window

    You know maybe we can convince Lasko to bring back the galaxy line up with this design

      Maybe somewhere in Neverland. The days of quality economy fans are gone.

    Interesting! The Air King box fans had the D blade paired with the PSC motor for a couple of years in the early 2000’s. We still have a few of them floating around at work. This is the first Lasko I’ve seen like that, though.

    Seems to be the exact same 3 speeds as the Lakewood K223. Sounds exactly like mine. Except the 223 has a shaded pole motor.

    I must say, that’s a very oddball find for a fan. I believe there are similar examples of these that I’ve seen here on TH-cam. It’s kinda funny how they paired D blades for some of these Canadian Laskos with the PSC tuna can motors.

    I remember seeing this fan on a Canadian Tire catalog from 2005, it was also advertised as being super quiet. That fan really untreated me and I was awfully surprised that you got a hold of one. I would definitely be interested in this fan if you ever decide to part with it.

    This one had me scratching my head when I first saw it in Daily Vlog # 14 , I kind if figured it was manufactured in Canada because a lot of there fans are designed slightly different from ours . But I was astounded to see the performance of it , even with it containing a psc motor which is some cases are more efficient due to the capacitors and of course thicker and heavier blade sets such as this one . But still though I'm curious to how the blade set is combined with shaft which usually the 90s style blade set fits over a thicker shaft . I'd love to see a clean and service of it and I enjoyed the video Jordan.

    Honestly, I am now expecting you or TheSuperFanMan to find something strange like a cyclone pedestal fan with the D blade and the old motor housing.

    They are the invaders in home comfort: they started out as a metal company, tried fans in the 50s, and are now one of the only companies left making fans.
    I don't understand how something like this happens. Who in the world decides, hey, let's make a new design for our fans, but before we do that, let's take half the old design, half the new design, throw them together, and sell them only in one country??? Is there something about Canadian culture that people want a badge in the corner and a blue switch, but Americans can't stand that combination, so this will fly off the shelves only in Canada? Last I checked people don't care much of anything about fans. WhAt?!?!

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  ปีที่แล้ว

      I suspect the design changed and they were just using up parts that there existed a large stock of. But why in Canada and not the US is beyond me. The only thing I can think of is the American consumer market is so absurd that perhaps they thought fans with the 'old' blade wouldn't sell as well, but at the same time I can't see the average consumer even noticing the difference.
