- The Celestial Shortbow Herald is a really fun build that I enjoy playing for the open world. With tons of sustain, and movement speed I'm kept confident while farming metas/champs.

Thanks for the build! I've tried a few different builds but this one is the one that clicked with me. I'm using DPS gear but it's still really good at soloing champs.

Hey ur build looks cool and as i return to the game i wanted to try it BUT i can't use shortbow on my revenant and idk why is there something i missed ? is it not possible anymore ?

Idk if you have it wrong or not since I don't have stance unlocked in pve. But in pvp, elevated compassion doesn't selfheal if you get boons, on others yes. So is this different for pve? Can you test and check combat logg and comment back?

Hi! I got a shortbow for my herald but I cannot equip it (it says it requires Renegade in order to use it)...

@@spudzie9117yes! For some reason most ways I've tried to build for greatsword just feel squishy to me. Although I haven't tried dwarf.
why cant i use my shortbow on herald? says renegades use shortbow and heralds shields

Followed yr build to a tee and not seeing results. Steadfast rejuv is only consistenly at 2 upkeep. Wat am i doing wrong 😢
Are you letting your facets toggle for boons? Don’t consume them till you swap for the upkeep. Then for mallyx, just pop the elite and that’s 6 stacks + quickness.
i know you said it's for open world, but does it work in fractals and raids too? 🤔
You’d have to change the stats, and traits to make it more damage dealy. At that point the build would change haha

Yes. Pure power is better than pure condi shortbow.
Can you do something similar with Vindicator?
Not with all the healing I don’t think. Vindicator doesn’t have that access to regen like herald does, also alliance stance doesn’t have upkeep skills.
You can have probably even more defense, take a look at Lord Hizen. The dodge Vindicator build is nigh unkillable and you have permanent boons as well.
vindicator has perma boons and you can use jade bot to get regen at start. vindicator is way more unkillable than herald @@spudzie9117

I love condi herald, mallyx is only demon related class in the game, so i can enjoy with my demon fetish.
i dont like shortbow tho :P

well shortbow is getting a relatively big buff by having all it's skills have base piercing which adds an extra layer of aoe.
Though I like the idea I feel that going to hug enemies for the sake of the elite skill defeats the idea of using a ranged weapon. But I also don't think we get much bang out of our buck out of Shiro's double hit?

Revenant builds are indeed unkillable but damn is their dps low af. So low that even though I enjoy playing rev, the dmg output is so low I do pretty much everything slower than any other build.
I prefer my heals around 7500. This is why I don't run Herald.
That’s only for the first 8 seconds in demon stance. It’s more than what’s listed of course. With quickness, and damage reduction. While doing great damage.

Not using the second weaponset is straight up griefing.
Although celestial gear has all stats, with the traits used and build shown your primery dmg output will still be condi with an almost neglectable amount of power dmg when pulled of properly.
Thus getting a condi offset (like the usual mace/axe) would grant this build alot more dps output when meeleing is an option - i know it is stated in the video but mentioning that one shall not swap off the shortbow or swap rarely is just wrong.
Second: Rising momentum is a useless trait on any herald variant that has boonduration and constant swiftness application.
Movementspeed in GW2 is hardcoded.
The only option to be faster in combat than you already are with swiftness is by superspeed - with rising momentum you will always just still be at combat movement speed + 33% swiftness and sometimes boosted by glint elite.
As the build for openworld purposes seems to be focussed around as much self healing as possiible "Elder's repiste" would be the better option.
Lastly in my opinion shared empowerment should be picked over shining aspects.
As seen in the video footage your might uptime is pretty much zero (although it didnt have to be, facet of strength could have been used more).
With proper facet usage and shared empowerment you will keep 25 stacks of might easily wich will bump up the DPS by a HUGE margin, not just a tiny bit at the expense of roughly 4k+- healing give or take per legend loop - which should not be a survivability issue at all given how much passive healing the build already has.
Also: killing enemies faster means alot of dmg being negated - the other kind of "healing"

No, not even close. Our traits are entirely different. He takes salvation for his build. And different traits in corruption/herald.

I miss the old old rune of tormenting 🥲 I use full celestial for basically all my open world builds on revenant (so i save a little gold😅) with tormenting rune, should I just use revenant runes for all builds?🫣
I like revenant rune because it acts as more “celestial” stats with added vitality. So my heals are more useful. It’s minor, so tormenting is also good if you want more damage.
@@spudzie9117 if the difference isn’t too big, I’d rather keep what i already have😅 although I like trying new stuff, but the costed me a kidney iirc 🤭🫣
