  • This is a continuation of a explore Me and my Good Friend Andrew did, there was so much to take in and see. Can't even imagine what the history was like on this land we were exploring. So sad to see all this equipment and stuff left behind. Be respectful of the location you are exploring, Leave Footprints and take only photos and video. Have a good day and stay safe out there.

    So sad to see that beautiful barn being destroyed. For generations it was the center of that farm's economy. Raising dairy cattle, all the necessary equipment to farm crops to feed the herd, still there in the barn and mostly still in working condition! Wish that big barn was here, I sure could put it to good use. There was 2 tractors there, A 300 and an H in the back shed falling in on it. Many of those unwanted barns are being sold to contractors that take them down and rebuild them in Amish and other small farming communities. Better than having to pay a crew to demolish it and then haul it to a landfill.

    • @StantonsJourneys
      @StantonsJourneys  ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it still standing? Haven't been back in a while. It is very sad that all this just left and not being used for the farming community. I do love me some IH Tractors as you can tell in the video. Thanks for watching and commenting that information, it means a lot thank you.

    Farmall 300 was from the '50s. The baler was probably from the '60s. The most valuable things in that barn were the timbers and the cut stone foundation. Back in the day, I'd have tried to buy it off that estate and recycle it...

      It was a 300. We had a 1947 M that I drove as a kid (11/12 years old) hauling hay bales. Instead of the coil seat spring, it just had a single piece of springy metal holding the seat. The coolest thing about it was the independent braking. You had pedals for the left AND right rear tires and a piece you could flip over to connect the two so they'd work together...the thing was super scary on hills! The thing would also really haul butt! But once you got to a certain speed, the front end would start to shake!

    I work near there. The farm house was demolished this summer. The truck and the Camero are gone and the brush is cleaned up from around the brick house. The large barn was still there Friday but I couldn't tell if they were repairing it or just bracing it up to pull stuff out and salvage it as they dismantle it or what. There have been a bunch of vehicles and a backhoe over there last few days. For years we always assumed the brick house was abandoned too but a few years ago found out that someone was still living in it at that time.

    It's a shame to see everything going to be destroyed when that barn finely caves in.. I will never understand why family don't sell everything or auction everything off .. I understand that family / kids don't want nothing to do with what parents had but what they can call a auctioneer to sell everything off or just put a free sign out front it's no different than just letting everything just go to waste.... That's my feeling about it

    That was a "ground driven" manure spreader. No PTO so when you engaged the chain moving the wheels made everything GO. First for horses and later in life for tractors. Probably room for 10-20 cows there, back the spreader in and shovel/pitch cow manure into the spreader and away you go to the field.
