  • It's that time of year people where the storms come thick and fast which makes our cycling rides that bit more of a challenge. Following storm Arwen, today we set off in search of a cafe that did a good old Black Pudding for Mike, however Mike's new Veloflex tyres put paid to this as we had an untimely puncture at Standbury which is just on the outskirts of Haworth.
On this ride we had the usual bike talk where spoke about how the land was formed in this area and more importantly what we carry on a bike ride to repair roadside breakdowns.
If you like cycling related videos with a narrated theme throughout then this might be the cycling channel just for you.

      That's a good idea Phillip.
His spare inner tube looked like it was too large to fit in the tyre which is why it took a bit longer than it should have done.

Mike should have a surprise journey to Bury or Stacksteads for his favourite pudds. It's proper fresh over tops anytime of year. I used to live over that way. Wycoller has a story based on it by Emily Bronte.

I've seen the blackpudding shop in Rawtenstall but Mike can snuff them out from 5 miles away.

It was a nice little local ride out Jay but we set off a bit too late as we were assessing the weather. It has been shocking recently !

I prefer heavier duty tyres and inner tubes Gary as they out way all the minor savings a performance tyre will offer when it comes to reliability.
The main thing is that we had a chuckle and a mini adventure .

If ever there was an advert for Gatorskins at this time of year.. talk to Mike! 🤣
Not having the cream walls on road bikes either, personally I think they should be reserved for gravel and mountain bikes, just my opinion though!

I fitted a pair of 28mm to my winter bike on Monday. Gators are a tight fit but don't half offer you some protection John. I personally prefer reliability over marginal gains.

@@MrDazP1adv3ntures 100% agree. I fitted them to my Bianchi for the winter. Got a few mumbles from some of the lads at the club but long as I’m spared from being forced to the roadside fixing a flat then I don’t care!

Definitely notice the difference from the GP5000s I took off.

None of us are pro riders so the expensive light weight tyres won't make us any quicker and if they did, you are just hanging around waiting at the next junction for everyone .

Hi Mark, I have done a lot of hills around there. One of my next videos is to Hamish's cafe above Blacko

What type of inner tube is Mike using i only use continentals or swalbe stops me getting punctures

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures
      @MrDazP1adv3ntures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I'm not sure Andy. In winter I will use Halfords own 700c inner tubes because they are so thick .
