I've never driven a truck but I find myself mesmerized by the detail and concentration required to position these trucks in narrow spaces. Before you know it, I've subscribed and will now pay more attention around trucks. They've earned my respect thanks to this video.
Thank you thank you we need more people around us like you! Rest area requires special attention ,I had Soo many cars cut me off ...too many! I could post a ton of videos just about that!
I'VE BEEN PULLING IN LIKE THAT IN REAL LIFE. I REMEMBER ALABAMA REST AREA WAS PACKED EXACTLY LIKE THESE VIDEO. YOUR VIDEOS HELPED ME A LOT WHEN I WAS A ROOCKIE.
In 35 years of trucking, I seldom parked in rest areas longer than an hour. Enough to catch a nap, do paperwork and use the bathroom. Rule of thumb never park in a place that has 4 wheelers. I've known drivers robbed and even killed by criminals. In truck stops, 4 wheelers driving in truck packing are usually watched by truckers as it is not usual for them to be there also most truck stops have some measure of security to keep the lot lizards out. Not so with rest areas.
Well there use to be a big Rest Area on interstate 85 south in Kings Mountain NC and I’ve witnessed a state trooper pull thru it and the lizards came out of that rest area like rats off a burning ship!!
Your tutorials are fantastic for me as a new pass in the UK. The reverse for the test is nothing like real world driving. So seeing these examples of potential situations is a massive help! Thanks 🙏🏻😊
I’m 15 days in my trainer and he is usually sleep when I’m driving and need to find a rest area I’ll tell u right now I wouldn’t have even attempted that I would have kept on driving to see if I can find a better rest area with more space
I drive coaches and would love to have a game Like this to practice on. Busses are quite different to semis with longer overhangs front and back and no articulation. But love this game for practice as well. Thanks.
Great video. My rule of thumb was to swing as wide as possible, and it usually works out fine. I agree that I was always scared of going into the auto parking area, but that never happened.
I've been avoiding rest areas since I've only seen someone park in one where there were 3 spaces available and they just chose the middle. Since I just drive local I don't really need a rest area, and when I see them at 7am they are so crowded that trucks are parked on both ramps as well. This video gave me some confidence on practicing them now.
I'm figuring out, by playing ATS, that the nine-axle lowboy needs your truck squared _plus one-half truck length_ . For when you approach from the left or the right of a target parking spot in front of you. You square up the truck plus half-a-length in front of the truck on the left or the right corner of the target.
Some people are oblivious to the fact that there blocking the through way in the rear... I usually don’t go to rest areas but my co driver did so we just asked the guy blocking to move up a few feet.
I have a request, please let me know if u already did a video demonstration, but if u have ever been to a Petro truck stop they have slanted parking and you can't always do a pull throw, could u do a video on how one should set you the backing maneuver for these types of spots please and thank you.
I've got my class 1 licence although at the moment I'm still working/driving as a coach driver. I am, however, considering changing to a class 1 job. Let's just say my private life has a lot to do with the idea. What I do know is that this video/tutorial has proven to be very interesting. So thank you for the heads up.
Nightmare! Great job with the video and tutorial… however I tend to avoid rest areas because of the very scenarios described here. Tonight is a great example of the nonsense thats out there. Glenwood Canyon here in CO got shut down and everyone was diverted to a rest area until i70 reopened… pure insanity. And yeah had to knock on the door to say I got to get out. People pulling way too far forward!
Just tried this for the first time at a rest stop in Florida. And failed. Tried it a second time turning into the left instead of right on the other side. Failed again. I cannot see any way to get wide enough for me to get into one of these spaces this way at this rest stop and do not understand how some of these other drivers have done it. Seriously, I was tires on the curb wide when I started.
Great job on video...if only drivers would park straight between the lines not only in the rest areas but truckstops mkst of them cant even pull ahead straight at the fuel islands SMH
I know this video is old but you should try the welcome center to Massachusetts on 95 South out of NH... The spots are way too small and no room to swing properly for 53' trailers
OMG. What has my trucking world come to. I have driven a truck for 30 years and getting in and out of a rest area was never a problem. And I'm so glad I'm retiring in 3 months because it's not the same trucking world. Good luck.
Stay out of truck stops and rest areas. Get a fuel and shower early in the day. Find nice rural parking at night. If your on the east coast..... Sorry about your luck!
@@MyTruckingSkills o No problems , I keep playing and practicing with the 40 or 53 foot trailer then i switch to the 28 then it feels much easier should I keep doing that or no I just got my permit and learning everything new
People with cars should watch this because some of them tend to make truckers life harder by ignorance. I would make mandatory for the car driving schools to require the future driver to spend 4 hours with a trucker.
@@ZaraDavos I am not a truck driver, but I take off my hat what challenges those guys encounter. I would put your laughing friends in the driver seat of a truck and tell them to back up into a warehouse ramp with tight space and impatient car drivers around. Then I would laugh in their face. 😉
That park before the parallel park, I felt you “cheated” by asking the nearby truck to back up. I’m in a utility with a trailer and often find that cars park close to you and then go off to the shops. No one to wake up. If you had to back up from that position, you cant see what’s on the far side of your trailer. Am I going to scrape the trailer on the right as I back up and am I just wedging myself deeper?
NEVER use a spotter. If they screw up and you hit something, its still your fault. Also, sometimes they think they're helping, then are dumb enough to stand behind the truck instead of off the right front. Then you're at risk of running them over.
I'm a retired class 1 driver and this is the best diagram example I've ever seen. Fantastic!
I've never driven a truck but I find myself mesmerized by the detail and concentration required to position these trucks in narrow spaces.

Wow this is not an easy job. You have to really enjoy driving. And be a professional. My respect

I wish I could've seen this video when I was a rookie😊
Nothing like squeezing in between two trucks in the the middle of the night when you're already dog tired. 😆 trucking, folks
Those nights I get the best sleep 😴🥱
Yep 😊
I been trucking for a while now, and I'm about to watch this anyway. It just looks so satisfying.
This is a good lesson everyone driving need to watch an learn. I've been driving for 34 years an still learning. Good video budu
I’m sure you have saved many drivers parking accidents! Great job!

So you're saying rest areas have lot lizards? I'm just asking for a friend.
That's why you strap up ey !!!

Really good tips and advice. This is solid stuff

I hate parking at these rest stops....I go in and just come out and keep going😂😂😂
One thing I also learned, curbs can take out a mud flap, just be aware.
Дякую, Вам, пане Сергію
😂😂😂
So much information! Thanks we all park in the rest areas.
I’m always kind of crooked!! I hate it! Now I see it !!!
Ugghhh!!
Me too!!
Been there asking the driver on the driver side to backup
Very informative trucking video!
Thanks 🤗

Моё почтение водителям профессионалам! Такое впечатление что они спокойно могут загнать фуру даже в игольное ушко!👍👏👏👏
Thanks , I'm a trucker too 😊
@@ZaraDavos 👍✊
My trucking school is surprised with my backing and parking, I won't tell them my secret... ;)
You should lol!!!🤣🤣
Yeah, you really should. The more views this channel gets the better for our amazing creator. I tell every new driver i meet about this channel.
Did you practice with this game using a steering wheel
No steering wheel option
Each one 1 teach 1 bro nothing better in life than helping people

Great video. My only fear when parking is getting hit while I'm asleep. I try to find the safest spot when parking
You got three types of drivers , classification 1.natural 2.teachable 3,the rest have no business under the wheel
For sure
O my , such a good description 😊
Lol funny this happens to me a lot. I hate those guys that either park all the way back or forward now you can’t get in or out .
I’ve actually seen truckers park in the car lot and am guilty of doing it myself also

Great videos this the truck stops I see all the time. Cause I go to the east states all the way to NJ.
This is absolutely amazing.
I wish I could like the video more than once.
My wife is watching your videos ..
She's starting cdl training in a month ..
Awsome! Good to get some sort of feel, although not directly, how to park at rest stops. Thanks
What a great trainer
American truck simulator is could way to learn somethings helped me believe it or not😂
I've seen some rest areas with trailers all over the place. I had to back up and go through car entrance to leave.

Yeah, rest stop can be treacherous in and out
Great job! Thanks man.
👀
Man you're videos are very informative, thanks.
This week I will practice this
Very lovely and parkable.
I am new to driving and I need all the help I can get with all this backing up. Thanks for your Videos
Very useful ❤️
Thank you brother I've been always waiting for a video like this in a rest area. Thanks so much.

Thank You for the videos.. can you demonstrate how to pull into a space with a set of doubles. Thank You again!
No, not able to do that yet.
I love your app so far...just wish the other levels weren’t $7.00 each or I would support you by buying all of them. To me $2.00 is more responsible.
But amazing video never hurts to keep learning

Maybe next u could show them how to stay off the centerline and how to not obstruct freedom? Thx
Can u make a video on the truck stop like this. Alot of them on a angle also
Your vids should be shown in every cdl class for trucking
I agree
I didn't know that truckers had an overhead view of their rig. That's easy. Anybody can drive a truck.
❤❤
😊😊
Can you make a video of a full tanker with tandems to the back?
6:30 If you can't get out of a parking space, just push the entire truck next to someone else's
I wish you would show spread axles
I learned it 😅took me 20 min
I would take the very last spot
Caso fosse 3 eixos atrás a manobra é a mesma?

Finally
As far as your trailer tail swing i need to keep the same gap from my door as the trailer tandems to the trailer door?

so you pulled out once, and you failed to get out.. im wondering now is the proper move to back out?? because it is the way you came in so...
Do they only run single trailers no doubles or tripples?
What is your simulator?
Very instructive, thank you
Should lady drive Truck ?I am Interesting to drive truck ,thank you for your youtube channel .

I am a truck driver, and I also make games. I would like to work with you on trucking game.
In the Mobil version there’s arrows pointing the wrong direction to pull in like this.
