Hey gents, I hope you liked this video on styling the puffer vest. A subscriber recently asked for this and so here it is. Which of these 5 fall looks is your kind of style? Also, can anyone see the live chat replay? I saw a few messages there during the premier, but when I check it now, nothing's there.
OK I need your opinion so my boyfriend he has a really puffy jacket with a hood that detaches and it turns into a vest he was trying to figure out what he could style with it he also recently got these really cute overalls they’re like a real urban hip-hop type overalls they’re not baggy but they just have more of an urban style to them do you think that that jacket/vest would be a good style combination with some Nike Air Force ones white of course because the overalls are black the puffy jacket is like A brownish color it’s not like an ugly brown it’s like a rich really pretty brown I may be wrong but I get this image in my head of what it would look like and in my head it looks amazing but I wanted to ask somebody who is more of a professional than me and I get what you’re saying about the whole Taylor thing but he’s more into the hip-hop fashion the more urban so I’m just curious because you’re way more of an expert than I am and he’s afraid to even try the combination because he’s like what if it looks goofy and I’m like nobody’s gonna see you you’re at home just try it on but I want your opinion so then I can show him that a professional said whatever they said but he also has this like camouflage printed best with a hood and I felt like that would look cute also just give me your opinion
since his style is more of the streetwear aesthetic, I could see that working. it's all about experimentation and not only how it looks, but how it makes one feel. if he's feelin' it and likes the look...wear it confidently and he can't go wrong.
I've been a big fan of how you style vests (and turtlenecks) for a few seasons now and yet I have not pulled the trigger on either. What am I waiting for? IDK!? For some ridiculous reason, I hold a lot of resentment towards coats with faux fleece or down puffer strip in the middle that's sometimes removable. I prefer to layer 2 separate and complete pieces. It's not too difficult and shows that I put some thought and effort into my outfit. Plus there's the huge versatility of wearing the mid layer separately.
This upcoming winter season is the perfect time to start experimenting! That's the beauty in the vest as a mid-layer. Form and function. I don't mind non-woolen fleece, in fact most fleece fabric out there is synthetic. The one in this vid is from uniqlo, super cheap, but been holding up well for 3 seasons running. What region are you from by the way?
Gentleman Within- I'm from the upper mid west (Great Lakes area). Hot humid summers, fantastic falls, windy winters, wet springs. Fall is definitely the best opportunity to show , experiment, and improve style for sure. I run hot so I love the cold and can layer w/ thin pieces and be fine. My Spring/Summer was all about Airism and linen as much as possible lol 😂
Nice alliteration...Ah, you get the beauty of all the season similar to my region. Fall is definitely the best time for sartorially inclined gents to style out. I'm hating the cold these days, want to get up 'n move out west eventually. Love Airism and linen for warm weather.
Gentleman Within - West coast winter is difficult to beat. I've spent a few yrs in California myself. I've enjoyed living in different regions and traveling. I hope you are able to make your travel goals a reality. Keep up the great work. 👍
The walker vest from JCF has served me well for several years and it's pretty lightweight. The UNIQLO ultra light down is a bit too light for down, but works great as a mid-layer.
