    No-Go Zones - World’s Toughest Places - Detroit, USA: • No-Go Zones - World’s ...
Today Somewhere on Earth is headed for the West of America, a land where the pioneering spirit and dreams of fortune still lives on.
00:00 The deserted roads of Arizona
Al Foul is a musician. He plies the deserted roads of Arizona at the wheel of his old taxi. The concerts he gives in the little towns keep him in close contact with a slice of genuine America.
    18:05 The mountains of Wyoming
Richard Fox, who grew up in the mountains of Wyoming, has chosen to live close to Nature. By running the family ranch he's perpetuating the cowboy tradition of the American West.
30:42 The mountains and canyons of Utah
The mountains and canyons of Utah still echo with Indian chants. Steph Davis has made this her playground. Climbing, skydiving and base jumping, this is the daily bread of this enthusiastic woman in search of the extreme.

True that. I hear people saying all the time that "oh yeah, I've been to US, I visited NYC, it's a beautiful country" lol...!! As you said, there are like 50 different countries in the US. Each has its own culture (more or less), geography, nature etc. US has much more to offer than just NYC or LA. My favorite is New Orleans, it's so different compared to many other places or cities in America. I also love AZ & Phoenix where lived for a year. The desert is awesome in AZ.

Al I'm a 35 year cabbie here in Tucson, and I remember seeing your car go by the old greyhound stn. 0n 4th & Broadway all the time and on 4th av. and I always though what a cool name for a cab, well eventually I put out my own cab, a 55 chevy 210 which was my mom's 1st car and I restored it and turned into a cab, which I named Cassic Cab, as much as I liked Tequila Taxi, I did not want to invade your space even though yours is not a actual cab anymore, I assume it was back in the day before you got it, well I always wondered about the guy driving it as one does not see vehicles with such a wonderful petina and someone willing to drive it, I just love it and the name fits so well, and when I started watching this documentary and seen that car come around the corner of that little town, I knew exactly who it was and now I would finally find out about the owner, I was so pleased and captivated and love your story, you are a original and was sorry to find out about your health problem, I sure wish you all the best and hope to run into you some time in Tucson and say hi and have a drink.

Excellent documentary. My favorite part was the one about Mr. Fox in Wyoming, I had three uncles who worked in different ranches taking care of cattle, horses and sheep in winter time, year after year for decades, getting paid well, they would come home to our border town of Piedras Negras (across from Eagle Pass, Texas) and used their hard-earned money to pay debts, buying cars and help the rest of relatives who could use a certain amount of dollars. In those days a dollar would go a long way in mexican soil. They were the cowboys of old time that Mr Fox talks about, only my relatives didn't own the ranches. They told us their stories (and showed us pictures of them doing what we see here), I was a child of 8 or 9 years old then. I wished for a long time to live in a place like the one shown here, where there's no city lights or noise, no cars, no phones, just you and nature, solitude in a beautiful landscape.

I remember when I lived in Tucson back in the '60s when I was a hippie. Every few weeks or so in the paper you'd read about someone who was visiting the area. The story would tell how the person went out to explore the desert for just ONE DAY and died from exposure. It would get up to about 120 degrees out there in the summer and if you didn't have water you could easily die. Don't get stuck out there at night in the winter. It's very cold and that wind just slices right through you. Especially the elderly. But it certainly is beautiful. If you walk around the Sonora Desert for a few days you'll come to understand why it is so mysterious. Things happen that defy logic.

I love this video. I got a tour of the Desert Southwest in 1979/80. 29 Palms, Yuma, Fallon and Yuma again. I moved to Mesa, AZ. in 85. In Florida now and hate it. Added this to my "Slab City, Blythe, Needles Ca., Yuma" Playlist.
