    I have watched other channels use the same hatchet knot to tie their bags. In order to open you need a hatchet ( or knife). I just assumed that a shoe string knot didn't work to hold bag closed when transporting to car or campsite. Around me nobody uses bags. Great money saver for you and easier for the customer 👍

    Perhaps add a few sticks of kindling in each bag to make lighting the fire easy and convenient? You could also put in a simple flyer with details of your business, mentioning the bag recycling, the kindling etc (they can use the paper to light the fire too!)

    When I still did firewood, I had a place where I could buy used onion and potato bags real cheap. Never got many returns but my regulars would comment on the many different types of printing and artwork on the bags. Thay literally came all over North & South America. They made for good conversation starters, and I think helped sales.

    You could put a little mark on the bags somewhere with a sharpie so you could just see how many times you have reused the bag. That might be interesting over time. I bet it would be a lot of 2 times, and a couple of 3's, but rarely a 4.

  • @Dorchwoods
    @Dorchwoods 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I've been using an ez bagger for several years now and love it, but I'm thinking I may buy the wolf ridge bagger because I like the vertical orientation of it.
    My customers also return the bags and I love that. I've probably head several hundred bags returned and re-used this last summer alone.
    Also, the bags at GlobeBag are significantly cheaper than the northern woodsman bags. They don't have the firewood label but switching to them has not effected my sales in any way whatsoever
    Great tip with the tying btw, luckily that's how I was doing it anyway so that explains why I had so many returns, but I never thought of it!

    • @gavintaylor761
      @gavintaylor761 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did you notice the smaller bags from Globe affect the amount of wood per bundle? I get the yellow 18x25 .75 cubic foot bundle bags now from Northern woodsmen. Looks like the 1/2 bushel are 15x25 from globe.

    • @Dorchwoods
      @Dorchwoods 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gavintaylor761 the bags from globe are quite a bit bigger, and stretchier. 24x24 I believe. There's a bit of extra space and sag in the globe bags when adding the exact same amount of wood, but my sales were not affected whatsoever and customers love the bags just the same. Literally made no difference other than it costs me way less money per bag
