22 goals and assists is underrated for how in and out of the team he was. LW is his best position l, don’t know why we were so reluctant to play him there. Had a dip in form but was definitely not our worst attacker
Technically underrated, physically awkward for defenders - tall but good pace and good balance and a very determined mindset that’s why he is still integral for this team and will be part of the Dutch counterpart with Slot taking over. ALSO - WHERE IS THE JOE GOMEZ COMPILATION THAT MAN MADE IT TO THE EUROS AND HAS BEEN A STANDOUT PLAYER.
Can't believe the amount of chances Jota, Salah (the most in this clip, twice versus atalanta, and that match really frustrated me bcs if we scored 2 goals earlier we could have turned it around), darwin and Luis Diaz missed this whole season and these are only chances created by Gakpo. We really should start him and see if Slot can play him as a LW... bcs man he'd have like at least 18 assists this season or more if we net those chances he creates.
I know Cody is not the most sexy player to watch, because he is really tall and is not rapid or flashy, but honestly I think he can become one of the best in the world in his position. His intelligence, calmness and pragmatic style can make him extremely effective. If we use him right, I have no doubts he will hit double figures for goals and assists, like at least 30 goal contributions per season.
statistically hes better than diaz but diaz can dribble and does a lot which seems like hes good but hes really ineffective and has no end product. same goals and assists as gakpo w 1000 more mins

Played very good towards end of the season in his natural position

Him & Diaz can play together. They understand each other and able to exchange position seamlessly. Giving the sense of unpredictability to the attack.
