The fiendsmith is gonna f*cking make me become a Yugi boomer. I just know it. Every time i see people play a list he's in i go "This isn't [deck this clearly is] this is just mooore Irae-nian bullsh*t."
Re: scythe to 1, I believe it’s a hit specifically geared towards the 3v3 events in the ocg, which work similar to Master Duel Worlds (ie the maximum number of copies you can play of a card is shared across each players’ deck). 1 Scythe means that only one of your team members can run the sucky floodgate, which is… better, I guess? It makes marginally more sense in that context, but that’s not saying a lot. Logically if the card is a known problem, you’d think the logical solution would be to ban it, but OCG gonna OCG.
@@Ragnarok540 I’m not completely sure tbh - the ocg is weird in the sense that most regional-level tournaments are (I think) just standard 1v1 BO3 matches á lá TCG, but iirc most of the premier events (YCS equivalents) are either BO1 (Swiss + top cut) or 3v3 team duels - possibly sometimes both at the same time? You’ll see decklists from tournaments using 3v3 rulesets fairly often when looking at OCG metagame reports (on Road Of The King and the like), but I have no idea how this corresponds to frequency.
An irrelevant question: is the background music in the first half composed by Kokyo Active NEETs? It sounds super familiar, but I can't quite place it.

Ah yes, of course, the one normal summon that’s stronger than Snake-Eye Ash
I'm starting to feel like a lot of decks are being minmaxed towards "how bad do you feel when you don't hard open engraver"
