Biden won the 2020 Primary because the Elites hated Bernie Sanders (the most popular politician in America). That's why they cancelled 2024 primaries because they can't trust voters to choose a corporate Democrat. It's also why they have to delay Biden's departure long enough to make sure there isn't time for a fair race so they can anoint a candidate. More importantly, ensure that no progressive wins like what just happened in France. Besides, when Trump wins the donors will get tax breaks, deregulation & they can wash their hands of Ukraine and Gaza while still enriching the military industrial complex.

James Carville's point about the German chancellor is a good one. When Biden's folks say he just needs to get more rest and was exhausted during the debate, that's not helping him the way they think it is. If Biden or his staff are having to compensate for his age in any way for him to do the job, then that's game over. I know he wants to be given credit for what he has done (and he does deserve credit), but that doesn't help when we're talking about a 4 year commitment for an 81 year old man. People just don't see it as viable. The ONLY reason he wasn't dismissed a long time ago, was because of trump. People are so terrified of trump being president again they were afraid to take any risk on a different candidate. And that was fine as long as Biden seemed with it. But that's not where we are now.

There's an assumption that people can't think for themselves. I watched that debate and I am concerned. A loss will be catastrophic for this country and for me as an Black person. The threat to my life and those who look like me is real. Biden wasn't winning prior to the debate debacle. He brought this on himself. We can clearly see that this administration has been hiding his condition. It's not the media. It's Biden. Furthermore, I know enough about the disease to understand that you can't assign it to someone without having a diagnosis from a qualified medical professional. All it took was a few seats to go Republican, he folded like a cheap suit. Had he looked harder at those seats, he would have realized all of them were expected to go Republican. @CNN: Do we not need to understand and appreciate that because our country is not a dictatorship, one solitary individual does not run the country. That one solitary individual assembles a Cabinet and advisors and a ton of folks whose daily activities and decisions DO run the country. It's not just the President -- it's the talent he surrounds himself or herself with. It may seem that the candidate is the most important element, but that's a facade. We need to champion the whole package and all of the downstream elements which come with it.

I disagree. The other party is the "fall in line without a spine" group. Democrats need an open, honest discussion. A fresh candidate could generate needed enthusiasm, with all the risk. A candidate who can pin Trump's ears back in a debate.

@t.tenney3470 it's not JUST Biden as the nominee. I see its merrits. It's the "just do the best we can" messaging, the disorganization, the avoiding the problem. Highlighting Project 2025 has been really good, but the Dems are coming across as between uninspiring and disingenuous. I'm all in for Biden if that's our man, but I'm not the crowd who needs convincing. Dem leadership needs a winning STRAT, not just a good platform.
