Tipografilor is a neighborhood located in the central area of the city, in a quiet area with lots of greenery, near the Botanical Park. It is delimited by Take Ionescu Boulevard to the south, Popa Șapcă Street to the west, the main railway line CFR 900 Timișoara north-Bucharest north to north and Baader Street to the east.
The Fountain of Cardinal Points is one of the representative fountains of the city of Timișoara, being located near Ion I.C. Square. Brătianu, at the intersection of Oituz Street and Take Ionescu Boulevard. Designed at IPROTIM, the fountain was built in 1978. What characterizes this fountain are the decorative letters that mark the four cardinal points (N, E, S and V) and the four intercardinal points (NE, SE, SV and NV). It is considered the most famous artesian well in Timisoara and a symbol of Timisoara.
In 1978, when it was built at the head of Leontin Sălăjan Boulevard (today Take Ionescu), it was painted orange.
In 2012, the year in which Aquatim celebrated 100 years since the commissioning of the treatment plant in Timișoara, a rehabilitation took place, when the fountain was repainted, changing its colors to white and blue. This color scheme was possible because it went from water supply from a borehole to water from the public network, recirculated. The water in the borehole was rich in salts that left a brown tint, the colors having to mask this effect. The water in the network leaves no traces, and the color scheme adopted gives a feeling of freshness.
