Sheldon is brilliant, but as Penny said: "You just suck at teaching!"
He sucks at being a human in general
He does suck at teaching !
George jr said it best to Sheldon as youngster “ you can’t teach ! “
He was decent when he explained fractions to Missy in "Young Sheldon".
Makes you wonder how he got hired as a professor at that university in the first place lol
It's amazing how he loves Feynman so much, yet he so nonchalantly violates Feynman's technique to sate his own ego.
Depends... Feynman evolved him too.. young Feynman mustve been quite normal with his ego as everyone who learnd
I like that Penny doesn't need a key to open the door but Sheldon need. 😂
Happens to me all the time, put the key in the hole, turn, it’s already unlocked. Roommates sometimes just don’t lock it if they’re expecting others.
I laughed at the electron joke.
This isn’t something you should admit to….

How did Sheldon even get hired in the first place you'd think as a professor he would be somewhat better at teaching lol
well, sometimes researcher working for a university teach as guest lecture because: they work at that university obviously, they might give insight about research and topic on their research to students
@@KakMugi I know that...what I mean is, if he's a full-time professor at that university with a full teaching load, he should be better at guest lecturing lol. You'd think he'd never taught before based on this clip hehe
@@lflagr His job title is a theoretical physicist in the university. My guess is he is a full time researcher/scientist and was not required to teach as a professor. Throughout the show his work is mainly in an office and was only shown to teach twice, the first time is the episode shown above and the second one was when he was forced to teach a class that only howard signed up for in order to change his field of study. He also always belittled teachers quoting hime “Those who can’t do, teach.”
The same reason why school or universities have bad science teachers. Seriously its always the science teachers
@@emmanpadre5547 Ah. I always assumed he was a professor lol. I didn't realize universities hire people to do research only, I assumed teaching is the main gig at any college.
“I was expecting applause”
Slap for his ego
He went in to the classroom with the intention of showing his intellect and ridiculing the students. He had no intention to teach them anything, In another episode, Howard accused him of wanting to fail students instead of teaching them. Howard was right.
Jim Parsons is so funny
he just needed to wait until he ended the lecture.
When you see Young Sheldon where he helps Georgie or Missy or Billy with school, you’d see that he is not equipped to teach
Sheldon's motivation isn't to teach, his motivation is to show how much smarter he is than everybody else.
The electron joke was funny
It didn't actually make sense.
Yes , but downright insulting to the students, that's probably the reason they started hating him .
Seriously, Sheldon took things out of context. He was told those are the most brilliant graduate students and he impulsively felt the need to compete with them. For Christ sake Sheldon is not a graduate students and should not have envied them being described as most brilliant graduate students, it was just for the moment.
Yeah, it was, but also a bit insulting to the students, certainly no joke to them
@@gorgolyt oh no, it does make sense
Years later, all bored students will tell his friends they attend a Nobel Prize class.
Nah. When I was in grad school, whenever we encountered a professor who suck at teaching we always joke that he or she is a Nobel Prize material
Who actually cares. Still a🎉piece of ass because he thought that he's better than everyone. Still doesn't make him a good teacher.
I think that getting a Nobel requires enough social skills that people don't want to sabotage your work or reputation.
@@theProntoHe did get one.
It almost makes me think back to my father when he wanted to be a biologist because if he wasn't so afraid of dissecting frogs he probably would have been known as Professor Eric Santana senior and I would also attend his lectures in other words I would have had a completely awesome father but despite the fact that he chose not to be a biologist he still does well at his job as a man who is married twice in a good father despite his views but I believe what gave him more peace in mind is being a grandfather
Haha too funny. But the Wi-Fi password tho hahaha

I totally agree, though. I'm a young actress myself, but I've never been such a moocher or used insecure needs to pay for my food, my elecricity, my Wi-Fi, let alone my rent.
@@NiVi192 but do you still expect the man to pay if you go out on a date?
@houchi69 I do not. I always expect and suggest that we share the bill, least of all that I cover the tip. Not that I would never let the man invite me because it's a nice gesture of him (plus, I'm self-actualized enough to not define my independence level over who's paying when 😉). Just two weeks ago, my date had already paid for dinner when I came back from the ladiesroom. So, when we headed to a rooftop bar later on, I took the check there. 🙂 Either way, I don't just "expect" my date to pay as a matter of course, but if he does, I always say thank you because appreciation is a two-way street.

Mine was Two and a Half Men and when I am stressed I use to see it because transports me to a good times.
Howard was sometimes a creep and a weirdo.
Such a shame that such revolting character was written for such a talented actor like Mr Simon Helberg.

Darth Vader: Yeah… I did say that (sigh breathing)
Darth Vader didn't build the Death Star. The Nerds in the Show should have known better
Do you notice that Sheldon doesn't know how to laugh.
He doesn't know how to act like a human being. Like the tin man with no heart or emotion. Just a PG Terminator.

Id have a fun day with him as my teacher 😂
Howard Darth Vader didn’t build the Death Star. It was Darth Sidious who built it. Get your Star Wars facts right!

Darth Vader didn’t say what Sheldon said, more like he showed up to a Jedi classroom and “showed us he didn’t want to teach them.”

And it wasn't even his idea it was Palpatine's
Yeah, then later tarkin and krenic had an argument on who built it.
I thought it's what he said after "dealing with" all the Jedi younglings.
Eigervalues? I think they mean Eigenvalues.
How did Sheldon get back without Leonard driving him?
Although Sheldon works at a university, he is not a teacher. He is considered research staff. He merely thinks that he is great at everything.
I think Darth Vader said the line before he killed the Younglings would be more accurate
Wow, sheldon has a tough crowd.

0:26 What is an eigervalue?
What the fuck was wrong with Tron 2?
3:22 fun fact Darth Vader was very against the death star being built. That is why he let the rebels get away with the death star plans.
He's probably building a deathstar or a mega giant fudge stripe swirly slide 🛝 that goes down forever, straight to hell.
I would have enjoyed Sheldon's lecture, but that's just me! Just like he said, "everyone is entitled to their own opinion!".
1:51 , being an Indian I get the Hindenburg reference now after the Adani Hindenburg case.
He may be a difficult person to get on with, but why be so cruel to him? I always had this problem with TBBT, Sheldon's friends seem to get off on humiliating him.. They probably think he doesn't care? Speaking as a person within the spectrum: you're wrong. We do care.
He does it too, and ten times harder and worse, and jis entitlement, arrogance, unpleasantness and rude obnoxious condescending ways makes it justified to DUMP on him, figuratively of course
although throw a deuce at Sheldon, after he says something rude and I've got it on camera, it'd be worth it,
all the while im beating to a near-death pulp
I disagree. It would be one thing if he only had social behavior struggles. But his narcissistic condescension towards everyone around him means he deserves many a good jab at his ego.
🎉Nah, his huge ego makes it justified 🎉
Spectrum forgivable. An ego bigger than Texas - less so.
He's condescending, narcisstic, and egotistical.
Darth Vader did not build the Death Star, it was mainly oversaw by Grand Moff Tarkin on orders from Emperor Palpatine.
And director krenic. Thrawn and vader hated the death star and thought it was a waste of money and resources.
Why young sheldon setup looks like in real life while in TBBT the setup looks like fake?
I never understood Sheldon's jokes when he's trying to be funny but when he's not trying to be funny, unintentionally it can look like having that one friend who might be on the spectrum (myself being one of them) makes me wonder how sheldon might handle being around other "special people"
I once had a chemistry prof so boring, so pedantic, that we attended lectures at nearby schools instead.
I had a C-language prof so hilarious that no one missed his 7 am class!
I know plenty of accomplished scientists; teaching is another matter entirely.
(35 year Math Tutor)
Excuse me Tron 2 was incredible
Im was in a internship and you learn how to teach them but it can frustrating
If the goal of lectures is to have fun and entertain the students, they would have them in nightclubs.
I know it's just a TV show, but if it were real then Sheldon would have had valuable information to share. If the students spent their whole time tweeting and thinking up mean things to say, then I suggest it was the students who were the terrible people at the lecture.
If Sheldon wasn’t so condescending and arrogant, he’d be a great teacher; I wouldn’t sign up for his class.
To be fair, Sheldon is teaching post grad students. They are all adults with full of ego, whoever the professor is not good teacher for them.
i honestly dont think he would be that bad of a teacher.
sure, his massive arrogance isnt helpful in that regard, but he is usually quite enthusiastically explaining things throughout the show.

For a show about nerds and/or geeks, they always managed to get the simplest nerd facts wrong. Vader building the death star? Yeah ok, writers here didn't even watch the movies
It's because the show isn't actually written by nerds, it isn't even written for nerds. It's written to make fun of them. If it actually was for nerds, they wouldn't be treating things like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings or Star Wars as these obscure things only nerds like. When in truth, they're some of the most popular and beloved franchises of all time.
@@TheIllusiveMan11 I've heard it being called "nerd blackface"
@@Toromboloize Ooo, that's a good way to describe it
@@TheIllusiveMan11 This is 100% true. It is mainstream television that is meant to laugh at nerds, not laugh with them. Consider the Time Machine episode, where Sheldon explains the whole plot of the Time Machine to the guys. Not because they don't know it, of course they do, but because the audience doesn't. It's horrible writing and only serves to get the audience "in the know" so they can laugh at the stupid jokes, meanwhile belittling one of the most important works of science fiction ever written.

Not very aware of how to relate with students.

Why so mean to him at the beginning of the lecture? Jerk students.
If he was teaching you and being condescending, how would you react?
I agree, he tried being nice and cracking jokes to break the ice, they kept staring at him like dumbos. They didn't show how the lecture went on, but the introduction sure showed he had a tough crowd.
He started with demonstrating his great ego, then made an offensive joke and after that began teaching subject everyone there knew.
@toobaaaapi Just because a student is smart enough to understand the material doesn't mean they're going to enjoy it. The reviews afterward make it pretty clear they didn't like the class even before Sheldon showed up.
I don't get it. It's a physics class it's suppose to be serious. Did they actually expect Sheldon to be a classroom clown?
Profs don't need to be good teachers
It's the student's responsibility to figure it out
Kindergarten teachers need serious pedagogical skills
@@user-rq5sj7td2r Yes, the difference is, to university you go by your own motivation, you don't go there to get motivated. That's why it should be easier to teach adults.
@@holger_p Yet, these writers do portray the students as immature. It's fine to criticise a lecturer's teaching style or tone. I'm doing a course at the moment and I've certainly felt it a few times with some lecturers and other students have done the same.
But we do not tweet mean and downright cruel things about the lecturer even if we disliked them. Unless they've really offended us or caused an issue we just get on with our work and take in the information they gave us. Because we're adults and we're not stuck with these lecturers all day like in school.
So I agree wholeheartedly with you on that it's self-motivation. Except these writers either haven't been to university past undergrad or have stereotypical assumptions about academia.
