I live in Arkansas and plan to fly to Los Angeles California to buy wholesale from the fashion district. Now my question is, do I need my sellers permit from California or from Arkansas? You need the permit from the state your business is established in. So if you are starting your business in your home state of Arkansas and the primary address for your business is in Arkansas, get your permit in Arkansas. When you travel to Los Angeles to buy wholesale, you can show your Arkansas permit and it will be accepted given you show the correct document. In Arkansas, it should be your sales and use permit provided by Atap (Arkansas Taxpayer Access Point). This document shows that you are registered to collect taxes from your customers. Therefore, wholesalers can sell to you without collecting taxes from you since the end customer will be paying the taxes to you for the product. Hope this helps! ❤️
