I have a fbo 2016 m235ixdrive running e30. Just went on the dyno and got 360whp and 398wtq.
“We’re in Mexico of course guys” 😂
lol!
Great video........ I'm getting my E20 tune for my AMG GTR as we speak can't wait
i just did this the other night and YES!! the Difference is Night and day! the car is scary quik with E30 mix and bm3
it really is a massive difference! 😄
Hope you are doing well. Been re watching your content lately considering how affordable euros are right now
Ive done the exact thing as you. Brought laptop to gas station. Made a hot spot. The OTS bm3 maps didnt agree with my car especially the e30 map. I highly recommend you go to a dyno and get a custom tune. My custom tune is smooth and head and shoulders above the off the shelf maps. I hesitated and didnt think getting a custom tune would fix the stutter issue i had with bm3. But the custom map brought more hp and tq. Super happy with it. Look into custom tune.
clean_ 335ix will do man! thanks for the tip! are you running meth?
@@SimplyCarThings no my next upgrade is meth and intake. I am running xdi 35 hpfp. The 365 was on a heartbreaker dyno too. The guys at ttfs that made the xdi hpfp dynoed and custom tuned it for me
Can’t you just download the map and flash it without a hotspot ?
The fact everyone slept on n55s
How so?
yes, i agree
I would highly recommend that you get an ethanol tester from amazon and check the ethanol content of the e85. The app e85Cal is great for calculating the mixture. The 91/93 oct fuel contains 10% ethanol, and you likely won’t be filling up from a completely empty tank very often, so a few more variables need to considered when doing the calculation.
I would recommend doing a custom e30 tune as well. You’ll see big gains over the OTS e30 tune. I’m currently working with Cary Jordan on a custom e30 tune for my F30 335i. The car absolutely rips, and we are only on the 3rd revision. I installed the XDI 35 HPFP since the stock HPFP is known to be the limiting factor on the n55s, especially when running an e85 mix.
thank you for your advice man, i really appreciate it. oh man, i can't imagine how fast your car is man. the xdi fuel pump is something id love to have but its pricey!
You also need to consider that the e85 is 85% ethanol not 100% when doing your calculation. There are many calculators online tho. Personally I do 25% e85 and 75% 91 on my 328i. Other than that, great video!
@@DaniSkander How did you know that e85 is 85% ethanol when it varies from gas station to station? He’s gotta test it.
He didn’t show you that here.
I had an n54 335i like yours, which I recently sold. Feel sad about selling it, and even some regret. Do you think the m235i or 435i would be a good upgrade? Which one would you go for?
M cars are out the question.
going through purchasing process through vroom for my 2016 235i. Glad i found your channel. My concern is its an east coast car.
i have a stock m235i can i run e30 just like yours with no isssues?
That sounds SOO good dude n55 definitely one of the sexiest sounding engines
thanks man! i totally agree!
Dude! You're car is starting to cross over into "Raging Maniac Mode" Lol. And you're right!, the exhaust note on the fly by is just as you said! The car sounds like it's totally pissed off! Beastin Bro!
thank you, Steven! Yes, the car is pretty crazy right now!
This is suuuuper helpful. Had no idea now I do
Wanna put my dct 135i on e30😮💨
Yoooo man. Hope your well. Love your videos. I hope you get back to making videos. You made good content. Have a 235i, 6 spd, bout to upgrade turbo, replace rod bearings, upgrade pumps, and run e85. Hoping to make 600 hp
Love your car build bro. Can’t wait to do this to my 335i 😭 e85 seems like the move to finally make n55 somewhat fast
it's worth it man! you'll really enjoy the car with E85 in it!
@@SimplyCarThings how’s the car holding up ? And how many miles it has ?
Are you using an Ethanol additive??
Is it true you can stress out your low pressure fuel pump tho from running e30 for up to 6 months??
Awesome video and congrats on the beautiful m235i. Would you say it's a big upgrade over the 335i you had? Such as reliability and power? I was looking at a '16 m235i and a '14 435i coupe.
thank you! yes in terms of reliability, its a HUGE upgrade. the overall chassis, suspension, handling, and power of this car is awesome. I love it
What tire setup were you running on your m235i?
Is it hard to figure out the mixture?
Running a E30 mix in my E90 N54 and its so good. Congrats the M235i sounds amazing!
thanks bro! im sure your N54 is quick!
Do you need to upgrade your fuel pump and injection when you use E85 or just stock?
you can do it on the stock fuel system!
Have u done the new transmission flash from bootmod3? I just did mine yesterday and dam what a difference
yep! i have! although the 235 gearbox software is pretty quick and the torque limiters are much higher than many other models from factory, so the difference wasnt as noticeable but its awesome
When you gonna line this thing up against something?
travis williams facts we need another racing video ASAP
travis williams hopefully soon man haha
I’ll be waiting to see. I thought I saw you the other day in Temecula
@@twilliamstile1 was probably me lol!
Simply Car Things I pretty sure it was. I was like damn I wish I was in my car lol
Get a ethanol blend app. Putting 30% E85 in the tank doesn’t mean you have an E30 mix. Remember than regular pump gas is considered E10 so you ha e to take that in to account as well
That being said. E30 with your tank capacity should be at 3.65 gallons of E85 and 10.05 gallons of 91 gasoline
This!!
@@d0mochi You also have to test the e85 to know exactly how much you can use/need for an e30 blend. Everyone forgets that.
@@mariomunoz7167 this is why my car is on flex fuel. I don’t like bothering with ethanol blend tunes unless it’s flex fuel
Omar great video as always your car is awesome what other mods are coming? Love this channel
thanks Paul! hopefully an intercooler soon, oil change kit, auto trans fluid, spark plugs & coils, and polyurethane transmission mounts
debating on putting a catless dp and bm3 on my n55 435i with 80,000km but i still have 2 years of warranty. opinions?
you'll honestly be fine i highly doubt youd have any issues, but you'd most likely void your warranty
Simply Car Things definitely will void warranty, but thanks man
Since most 91/93 contains 10% ethanol, does that mean for an E20 map you just need to put 10% E85? Also what do you do if you are running out of fuel? Do you switch to 93 gas map?
Itsmrmoe In theory, yes, although with my E30 map i didn’t account for that & the car has ran flawlessly. It’s recommended to get an ethanol content tester just to be extra precise but not necessary. when im running low on fuel i just find an E85 station to fill up again, or you can always flash back to Stage 2 91
E85 is only 85% ethanol. If you wanted to run a 20% ethanol mixture, you would need to do some algebra. Assuming you’d only need 10% e85 is saying it’s e100.
Loved the video, i have 16’ m235i same color and about to buy all the bolt ons and bm3 ! Question when you run e30 can you go back to the gas you were using before without having to clean anything up?
thanks man! & yes, you can. just reflash back to the pump gas map
@@SimplyCarThingscan you not have a couple of maps like 91 map and also e30 map and be able to switch it on the fly without having to reflash ?
I want one so bad, i have a n54 335i
same bud, just dont have the money
@Ari Awan what made you wanna go from v10 to inline 6?
ces573 2013 M5 has a Twin Turbo V8 not a V10 model years 2006-2010 had V10s
so worth it man! i love mine!
I drive an n54 but had an m235i. I wanna get it again and put a 2jz on it
Hey man. Question. Im f30 n55. I cant decide on an intake. What made you choose bms intake? The cheaper more affordable intakes are open intakes. Please offer insight so i can make a decision. Btw im 365 hp 440 tq. Im tuned and have fbo and basically am getting methanol to max this stock turbo. But before that id like to get an intake. Thanks man love the car.
clean_ 335ix I chose BMS cause of their reputation in the N5X community. There are plenty of EWG N55’s running over 500whp with the BMS intake and it holds up solid. it’s designed to be paired with a tune of course, but i havent had any problems or dislikes with mine
@@SimplyCarThings thanks for the reply
Whats your favourite E92 or the 2 series?
in terms of looks, i'll always love the E92 more, but as an overall car the 2 series is so much better
What’s max HP stock turbo
Omg yay an upload 😍
it was about time haha
What's your 0-60 mph?
have you done any modifications ? intake , exhaust or downpipe ?
yep, bms intake, fabspeed exhaust & downpipe
This may have been said already... but my 91 octane here has 10% ethanol in it. So that has to be factored in as well, my dude! You're not hitting full 30% if you have ethanol in your octane already. That would be slightly more ethanol than you may expect.
thats a great point i was running more like an E40 blend tbh
What spark plugs and what gap was it set to?
OEM plugs!
@@SimplyCarThings Hmm? I always heard some people do this, but don’t you need one step colder plugs for bolts on & e85?
Do you get a check engine light when first doing it ?
ivan jimenez nope!
I got once , but solved with simply disconnect battery
I've got this car but am in the UK, they don't sell E85 anywhere in the UK.
Why have we been denied E85?
All we have is 99 octane Shell VPower which I use in my M235i and BP 101 octane but no E85.
hmm i'm not sure, there must be some sort of economic reason for not having it available
You're probably right.
We are taxed really high on fuel it's £4.62 for a gallon of 4 star unleaded, £5.13 for a gallon of Shell VPower, if they introduced a biofuel I suppose they'd not be able to tax it coz there's not the excuse of pollution etc...
Did you ever ever dyno the car while on e30?
i never did unfortunately :/
Holy FUCK the sound clip at 7:54 ! Your car sounds like thunder! ⚡️
Here in philly last time I went to the e85 tank it was under construction so idk honestly.
When was Philly not under construction?
Chris Garret you got tht right 😂🤣😂🤣
You still have the bimmer?
I have an M4 now
I did the same thing with my n55 stage 2 was like meh then e30 i was like damn!! With ya on the burble too that shit just gets annoying and sounds artificial af
In Sweden the lowest octane we can get is 95, we also have the option to get 98 octane (we could get 99 octane before, but they removed it), and of course etanol 85. Many ppl mixing 98 and E85 here lol.
Love your videos (also ridning BMW m235i 👍)
Different octane rating system in Europe than in the US. Your 95 (RON) is our 90 (AKI), 98 (RON) is like our 93 (AKI).
Glad you got rid of the burble tune. Personally, I hate it on every car. Lol
Okay? Maybe he likes it
@@rayraycarter04 He said he didn't which is why he removed it.
Didn’t know you could do this without a fuel system. Does it hurt the car over time to do E30?
yes you can! i have a few friends who have done it for a while now (40k miles or so) with no issues
Any reason you didn't go mhd?
Bootmod3 is a better platform
I just picked up a white 15 m235i xdrive. Kinda high miles but was a good deal. Do you have any tcu tune?
congrats! yes the zf8 is trans is flashed for the torque limiter removal to optimize for the tune
Also check out a xhp tuner, not sure if they make it for that car but you can flash it to rwd whenever you want
@@SimplyCarThings what tune did you go with for the trans?
I assume on my n55 335i with just a BMS stage 1 tune (stock BMS map) it's not a good idea to mix in e85? I already only ever put in 93 octane plus off the shelf octane booster. Your car sounds amazing btw.
thanks man! you can mix e85 with the stage 1 flash but I believe you would need to flash to take advantage of the increased octane
@@SimplyCarThings I see, that makes sense. I may give it a shot. Thanks.
The black plastic bumper kills it for me
gotta get that rear diffuser
You need to get some races in!! Would be dope to see how it does vs the competition man, keep up the good videos ✊🏼
AntSkrt thanks brotha! trying to get some runs in but we’ll see!
sorry to be offtopic but does someone know a way to get back into an instagram account?
I was stupid forgot my account password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
@Edgar Benson instablaster =)
@Danny Albert I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now.
Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Danny Albert it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
There an app called E85 and it takes all the math out of running a mix
If I go fbo can I run e85 on my 2011 335i?
yea bro that’s all you need just fill it up with 100% e85 no need for anything else
yes, you can run E85 on it
@@TCON42499 You cannot run full E. Stop with the bs.
@@mariomunoz7167 you can bro go fill up your car and see for yourself. Let me know how it goes
I am in new jersey I wish I had E85 :(
@spare Newark is a 45min drive from me lol. gotta go on RT 4 than stay on 17
@spare are you from north jersey?
@spare oh come on now. you know there is no such thing as central jersey LMFAO
@spare lol nice, I am in Bergen county. literally about 20 mins from the big meet this sunday at garden state plaza
@spare same it was a fun day
Anyone know if the n26 can run e85 with just jb4?
No you need to upgrade you fuel pump
When it comes to filling up your tank... is it a pain having to figure out how much E85 to add each time or do you wait until the car is pretty much on E every time ?
Go download e85 calculator on App Store
You really cant daily a 235i?? Come on man...
Hes saving it for the next guy...
of course i can daily it lol. but my commute to school is a 60 mile trip, 4 days a week and that doesnt account for any driving i do outside of that. so it doesnt make sense to rack up so many miles on the car. Id rather drive/cherish it when I want to, and plus it makes it more fun.
@@SimplyCarThings 60 miles 4 days a week? thats rough.. how long is the drive
@@dsm2906 it sucks man, it's about 40min one way with no traffic
@@SimplyCarThings fuck that dont use your m235i for boring drives, like you say you only rack up tons of miles for no reason.
Just get the app - E85 Blend 👍
You know its bad when you get drone in your headphones lmao
the racecar sound this car makes outweighs the drone for me all day long
@@SimplyCarThings ohh im sure in person it's fine lol just threw headphones we don't get a lot of the racecar sound lmao
E85 thins out your oil over time so make sure to change the oil at least every 4,000 miles
interesting! i change my oil every 5k miles anyway, and this is a relatively light blend so im sure ill be fine
Can you do a more an in depth video on the E30 tune? I think that would be really nice and plus you can put out more content
of course man! will do
That’s a lot of work for some fuel
Once you learn it it's not hard. Also the power gains are worth it
Yeeeeeeeaaaaahhh boiiiiii
My '07 335i needs this kicker!
Joseph Catalano i got a 08, might try running e30 with 93 tune mhd stage 2
Can i just pump it at the gas station. I really suck at Math
You should be past 400whp on a setup like that you are probably sitting around 450
You should checkout the new XHP launch control feature!
Your math is slightly flawed since cali gas’s already contains %10 e85. Our N55s can run full e85 on stock fuel system, don’t recommend it but you can. MHD offers an OTS full e85 map for stock hardware.
damn no way? Full E85 on the stock system? ive heard a few others say that, but i was skeptical
Simply Car Things yea, but its for convenience mainly. E30 runs more boost and is more powerful than full E85 to keep the stock pumps from crashing. But if you want more boost/power you need port injection or upgraded HPFP
jerry juarez ahh that makes sense. thanks for explaining. my friend has an F80 M3 running full E85 on the stock fuel system, and it’s a monster. I assume the fuel system on the S55 platform is more robust?
Simply Car while we have single pumps s55 have dual pumps. I have heard of people retrofitting s55 pumps to n55 but not sure if it actually works. Ive also heard B58 pumps retrofitted to n55, but the gains are minimal. N55 community is still looking for a solution to our fueling that doesn’t involve spending $2k (XDI-36)
@@crazylunitic1 yea that XDI is just too expensive unfortunately
Simlpy Car things - Do yo u live in Temecula area. i do as well.
lets run em?
i dont have this car anymore haha
thats not how you calculate 30% e85....fuck sake
Bro your car isn’t that fast. My 350z will walk you
Trueeeeeeeeeee
No it won't stock the 350z is nearly a whole second slower at 5.6 seconds 0-60mph.
A stock M235i is 4.7 seconds 0-60mph, so you're quite a lot wrong.
So even if you have modded it the M235i is naturally going to be the easiest to mod higher hp and quicker 0-60 as it starts off higher than a 350z as stock.
Simples!
Why Notagain 😂😂😂😂😂 you’re a nerd bruh
@@Thewinnerscircle_
Nah the video maker is a nerd working out all that cack just to put some fuel in the car.
I just know my car's bruv, what we term in the UK as a petrolhead. By no means a nerd, quite the opposite.
Why Notagain naw I’m saying you’re a nerd because you actually thought I was serious.... 😂😂😂😂
Homie still don’t have an intercooler
It’s Ripped surprised he hasn’t seen any issues with cooling system
This should’ve been done. The stock intercooler is so small and not as dense
lmfao yea im getting one soon, but surprisingly my IAT's stay fairly consistent, and if i drive the car hard its mostly during the evening when outside temps are way cooler
E85 burns cooler anyways so he shouldn't have any cooling issues driving hard on the street.
I’m sure all that tunning bullshit is going to take a toll on the car.
Drrrrrrrrr.....
#clickbait
this video is really helpful information and I gained more knowledge
glad to hear that, thanks for watching!
