I think Mojang has an issue with balancing new and past promised features. Instead of using the votes as to which gets updated next update and leave the rest for the update after, they're just forgotten about. And adding too little to stuff like the Wild Update. We got a swamp biome, chest boats, froglights, and finally finishing off the damn Cave update, a year and a half of waiting for such little.
I agree with you. The 2021 minecraft Live was good because they promised what seemed to be a good update, but then they didn't really deliver (fireflies were absent, but that's okay I guess. @@ImColombiaa_ Dude, they added a LOT of new features. Camels, Archaeology, Sniffer, Armor Trims, Bamboo Wood, Cherry Blossom Biome and Cherry Wood, Hanging Signs are pretty cool, and with Armor trims, almost every structure has another reason to be explored. If you don't like it, they are simpler things. Just don't use them. Don't complain that Cherry Wood looks bad, don't use it! If you don't like ANYTHING of the in depth features they added, be happy that this wasn't Caves and Cliffs or The Nether Update, something that heavily changed the game. And literally nobody understands how easy netherits armor was to get, and its still easy now. I never try to get netherite unless I'm in a hardcore world. I HATE netherite, so making it harder is a great feature in my opinion. But you can hate everything Mojang releases and continue to complain how "Minecraft is too easy," or "too simple," or "boring." If its not fun anymore for you, just play something else! Or be creative! Minecraft is the most customizable sandbox game in the world, do something new, something creative, and if you can't? NOBODy needs to hear complaining, because people love this game, even with its faults. You have your opinions, I'll respect them, and you can say them, but don't let it affect how you play Minecraft. Sorry for the essay lol
I feel like at the moment Minecraft is stuck at a complexity level not enjoyable anymore by casual players, and not complex enough to get people hooked and not be repetitive. The game needs to go to either direction, and as it seems now, it's getting complex.
I agree that the announcement was lackluster, but now we're 3 months into the future and I love the way they did this because now instead of disappointment (no birch forest or fireflies) we have surprises, I keep thinking they're done BUT THEY KEEP ADDING MORE WTF
2020 had to be the best year in Minecraft history. The game became popular again. Hermitcraft was at its peak. Pewdiepie started his let’s play. The Nether Update came and became Minecraft’s best update ever. Caves and Cliffs (And part of The Wild Update) was announced. Steve, Alex, Zombie & Enderman joined Smash Bros with Sakurai himself joining Minecraft Live to showcase them. There will never be another Minecraft year like 2020.
Okay, but if we don’t get a big update for another 2 years, it’s not like we’re going to suffer. The game is 12(?) years old and just recently got some of the biggest stuff.
Idk why everyone keeps forgetting that Minecraft said that they would work with the community, and add stuff along the way from what the community wanted ,or was either the only one who heard them saying that.😒
I think the end is the only big update left because it’s the only one that needs changes to the generation. They would probably split it into separate biomes but after that any future updates can be any size since all they all they need to do is update the individual biomes.
Community: “we need to keep our promises, so mojang should announce less. Also community: “they need to announce more”. Me: OH MY GOD YOU ASKED FOR THIS
No this aged like wine actually. The only good updates are the hanging signs. Everything else is superfluous. I do like the bamboo wood, though, somewhat.
@@Lotus77777 What the fuck is that opinion, yes hanging signs are nice but there are far better things in the update. Armor trims, nerfing netherite, archaeology releasing (better late than never)
To all of the people complaining about 1.20, shut up. People need to stop complaining about Minecraft live this year not showing tons of content. The Nether update was one of, if not the best update ever (imo the best), and a big part of that was how NOT EVERYTHING WAS SHOWN. Also, about the video, the announcement for 1.19 was uhh... no. That Minecon ACTUALLY sucked, and the update wasn't much better than 1.17. A big part of that was how Mojang didn't just delay the update, and rather made multiple half-baked ones, but we SHOULD NOT blame them for this. Minecraft is a game that is worked hard on. As a modder, I appreciate this, because it is incredibly time-consuming to come up with and produce content. A lot of players demand the frankly unsustainable cycle of yearly, big content, but it's not so simple. If large portions of content are to be added, like the scale of Caves and Cliffs, more than just one year is needed. This is clear. But, by pressuring Mojang into feeling like they have to release an update every year, pointless and half-baked updates like 1.17 and 1.18 appear, since preparing for release demands lots of work. This update is shaping up to be one of the best so far because there aren't any promises that are made for the toxic part of the fanbase constantly demanding more content in less time, and the content they do finish is a lot of small, cool additions that seem to be things that should've been added earlier, but weren't, due to said time constraints. While it is unreasonable to expect the original 3 mob vote losers to be added here, since they were totally deconfirmed, it is honestly reasonable and probable to expect some of the other mob/biome votes, since they were promised. This update is going to be great, and the part of the Minecraft community that's being obnoxious over how "this update sucks" are the same people causing mediocre updates like 1.17. To all those reading, be happy about this update, and look forward to the future knowing that there could be ANYTHING coming to this update!
Fellas, we are no longer allowed to enjoy whatever we want, we must enjoy that a multi-billion company with over 400 workers makes an entire half assed 3 hour livestream (which mostly isnt about the game itself) just to reveal 3 features and then go on to say that the update will add the most random shit imaginable. Buddy, i get where your coming from but even a small gmod team can make something more organized and well-presented than this
@@DrillThrill I'm literally a modder myself. Yes, they can make stuff like this, but the livestream wasn't all that there is for the update. Just because it didn't show everything doesn't mean that that's all the update is adding. Also, Mojang is somewhat stuck up their own asses about what they add like "oohhhh the frogs have to be this color or this has be be how it is in real life" and while I think that's stupid, they focus on that, which causes things to take longer. Also, their company isn't totally devoted to Minecraft the main game, there's other games, along with departments not even involved in gaming. I think that some of the best updates that weren't the cave update were ones like 1.12 that did add random shit, but it was cool random shit. And what this has been so far is cool random shit.
The bookshelf can be used with redstone, it’s not that useless. You can make secret library doors and such. Also the bundle is very cool, especially for exploring
I'm still salty about fireflies, "buh duh they're poisonous to frogs". I don't care just call them something else like flamebug or glowing beetle and make them as big as the bee or bat. And why is the bee so damn big, it's even bigger than bat and chicken.
They didn't add fireflies because they're poisonous to frogs, yet leave bones and dogs in, despite the numerous reasons you should never give a dog a bone.
i wouldnt even mind if they took two years to get a good update out with all the past stuff. i just want a full feeling update again, one that makes the minecraft fanbase go nuts with excitement again.
Mojang needs to focus on updating bland and boring parts to the game, so I think a revisit to those biomes is a great fix, also a revisit to pvp would be nice as in my opinion combat isnt very fun and pre 1.9 combat outshines it. Would also like to see a sky update where they maybe make some sort of sky villages in the clouds OR maybe the potential for some birds or something of the sort
Having faith in mojang is like believing you’ll fly one day. It’s 1.19 and I can’t believe I still need a mod like Essentials to play with my friend in his world. I bought this game in 2013…
play on bedrock then, i think bedrock has friend joinable worlds. minecraft didnt add that because hosting a server on your pc is very unreliable. people will start screaming at them even when they tried to make as reliable as possible.
The biggest disappointment for me was when they added the mangrove swamp. The mangrove swamp is really cool, but why did they not just replace the normal swamp with the mangrove swamp entirely? *they eat actual magma which is way more lethal than fireflies*
nah molten lava is much healthier than bugs
@@jetstarfish btw i bet that mojang removed fireflies not because they would be "poisonous to frogs" and therefore unrealistic (even though it's a game with floating islands and a DRAGONESS)
but because the idea of a mob that's just 2 pixels ended up being so embarrasing that they just killed the idea and pretended it was because frogs don't eat the light bugs
The editing in this video is crazy! Keep up the work🙏
Came here to see old opinions on 1.20... we were expecting so little and got so much as by now
Yeah, this video aged so bad, we are getting updates each 2 weeks and an lot of stuff that will actually be useful, both for exploring and decorating
Just dont have the frogs eat the fireflies.... I dont get how they even got away with that excuse lmao, like they didnt have a real reason so they made one up last second. Classic dog ate the homework
make firefly into a particle
@@First_Napkins particle would be nice but itd be cool if they were small entities like bats, and they just put in the frog coding that frogs wont eat them or will even run from them. Seems like such a simple solution I just dont get why removing the fireflies was what they chose
@@braydonattoe2078 i think firefly are too small and if we sleash them it will be weird because they ar mob

LETS GOOOO WEEZERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also nice video it was fire, this one is gonna get you to 100k subs
Instant joy when I recognized the Wall-E game music in the background
They barley announced anything, but now we have SO MANY FEATURES. This will be one of the best updates in Minecraft history. 1.20 will be amazing, maybe not the best, but incredible
Wtfdym
@@ImColombiaa_ what? 1.20 is amazing
@Metropisianity netherite armor sucks to get now and the shit they added wasn't even that good
@@ImColombiaa_ Dude, they added a LOT of new features.
Holy Jet Star Fish Two!
6:08 They now eat Magma cubes which is much healthier for a frog 👍🏼
Dude, the first part was so real. That entire 2 hours of them promoting their other games is exactly what made me hate those other games

I love how you edited it so we could see how everyone wasn't okay with the last minute changes for the fireflies. XD
I had never heard of Minecraft Legends tbh, looks cool actually :P
I mean right now 1.20 looks rlly small, but along the way we see new stuff at least every week
Edit: this guy thinks the same way as me
The Leftovers update idea is realllllyyyy great, too bad they’ll never do it because “the devs take time!!!”
Your editing is so good you deserve more
4:50 wall e ps2 song aaa nostalgia
I’d love them to add the old mob votes and biome votes because they seem like they could add lots more beyond the surface level
Why does the community always manage to vote for the worst mobs?
I feel like at the moment Minecraft is stuck at a complexity level not enjoyable anymore by casual players, and not complex enough to get people hooked and not be repetitive. The game needs to go to either direction, and as it seems now, it's getting complex.
Gotta respect the walle music
"And now DanTDM is talking to a banana" This is how random these updates feel
1.15 is underrated man
it rly optimized the game after 1.14 had major lag especially with teleporting
1.15 is the good quality of life update
Im so glad that they added more stuff
posted right when i woke up wow
I agree that the announcement was lackluster, but now we're 3 months into the future and I love the way they did this because now instead of disappointment (no birch forest or fireflies) we have surprises, I keep thinking they're done BUT THEY KEEP ADDING MORE WTF
Small updates aren't necessarily bad updates, it allows them to release them faster
This must be the only good thing that happened in 2020
Okay, but if we don’t get a big update for another 2 years, it’s not like we’re going to suffer. The game is 12(?) years old and just recently got some of the biggest stuff.
They need an update where it just adds more life into the game. Animals, bugs, etc.
air effects
Yeah but people will cry “oH nO iT iS nOt UsEfUl!!!” Like adding more life into the game isn’t immersive
I don’t mind adding extra ambience, but it at least should look good or make the game immersive. Polar Bears and Bats don’t do that.
Idk why everyone keeps forgetting that Minecraft said that they would work with the community, and add stuff along the way from what the community wanted ,or was either the only one who heard them saying that.😒
Armor trims.
Yea
I think the end is the only big update left because it’s the only one that needs changes to the generation. They would probably split it into separate biomes but after that any future updates can be any size since all they all they need to do is update the individual biomes.
Community: “we need to keep our promises, so mojang should announce less.
Also community: “they need to announce more”.
Me: OH MY GOD YOU ASKED FOR THIS
I love the idea of a leftovers update it is actually so good
Is that the freaking Wall-E Xbox 360 video game soundtrack in the background?!
The Wall E game background music has got me in a nostalgia induced trance
Boy did this age like milk, 1.20 is far from in need of saving as of commenting this.
No this aged like wine actually. The only good updates are the hanging signs. Everything else is superfluous. I do like the bamboo wood, though, somewhat.
@@Lotus77777 What the fuck is that opinion, yes hanging signs are nice but there are far better things in the update. Armor trims, nerfing netherite, archaeology releasing (better late than never)
@@Lotus77777bro are you a time traveler
@@Threepeater6447 I forgot to mention the cherry trees and pink petals tbh

Mad respect for using the (if I’m remembering correctly) Wall-E game music when talking about the discarded mobs
This video didn't age too well ain't it
Yeah. Man hating the update too early
Far too many people did that at the beginning, even if devs mentioned that there was a lot more to come. And what we have as of now is great!
Your vids are legit the funniest things I’ve heard in a while.
And why is the bee so damn big, it's even bigger than bat and chicken.
love the wallpaper king
This didn’t age well
Staying up untill 4am to make a video is the most relatable thing ever
im sure 1.20 will be good, u gotta let them start developing more stuff tho before u start to criticise
lmao that wallpaper gag was hilarious
They didn't add fireflies because they're poisonous to frogs, yet leave bones and dogs in, despite the numerous reasons you should never give a dog a bone.
I think you spoke too soon.

i wouldnt even mind if they took two years to get a good update out with all the past stuff. i just want a full feeling update again, one that makes the minecraft fanbase go nuts with excitement again.
Mojang: Frogs don't eat Fireflies, they're poisonous, and we wanna be realistic
Also Mojang: But they eat literal cubes of lava
I honestly just quit minecraft at this point. They have made the updates shorter , and every time they say it’s die the community😭😭
i agree so much love the content
Having faith in mojang is like believing you’ll fly one day. It’s 1.19 and I can’t believe I still need a mod like Essentials to play with my friend in his world.
I bought this game in 2013…
play on bedrock then, i think bedrock has friend joinable worlds.
minecraft didnt add that because hosting a server on your pc is very unreliable. people will start screaming at them even when they tried to make as reliable as possible.
People rlly seem to blank out “this isn’t everything in the update and we are going to reveal more content” huh?
Man, the opinions are so good (similar to mine :)
4:20 wow, it’s as if the african tree isn’t named by someone who speaks english 🤯🤯
The biggest disappointment for me was when they added the mangrove swamp. The mangrove swamp is really cool, but why did they not just replace the normal swamp with the mangrove swamp entirely? The normal swamp looks nothing like a real swamp and is probably the ugliest biome out of all of them. The mangrove swamp is so rare and I don't know why.
I actually agree. Normal swamps have no reason to exist at this point.
this aged like fine wine
