Aspect is purely a bonus for more stealth steps, not really necessary! Taking it to level two is pretty fast, so I would do that at least for the one extra step.
question on the codex/aspect: aren't all benefits from them immediately turned off once you start entering any pvp activity? does going grey from stealing count toward that? i see that you still get benefit from it for preparing to steal, but after stealing it does not help?

I've still been playing my bare bones pre patch thief so I'm about to echo my backstabber into this build to take advantage of high shadow. Since making this video have you found any improvements to the build?
Latest patch disabled that functionality unfortunately! Once I'm back from my vacation in a couple weeks I'll make an updated video on my strategy for getting past stacked pouches.

Out of curiosity, does the stolen gold reduce the output on the body for the other person ?

That's stealing from an NPC. The thieves codex has a perk that keeps you in stealth.

that final script doesn't seem to work. Keep getting a script error: dclick - invalid serial [line:1] when I try to hotkey for Bag1

Recent patch made smoke bombs no longer usable after stealing, but you could break LoS that way to hide normally!
How do I get more info on smokebombs? like how to get them etc.?
