I thought you might like a look at this nicely restored 1951 Pontiac sedan. It's still powered by the original flathead straight 8. The paint is slick, the chrome looks great, and the interior is looking nice as well. This is a well-preserved car, that is ready to cruise. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for watching!

Thank you
Been a while since I've seen something with an oil-bath air cleaner.
Nice car.
que lindo ! its an beautful
I never saw a straight 8 before. I assume it's a flat head but I can't find what size the engine is. I love looking under the hood of old cars. Things were SO much less complicated back then. Beautiful car.
1951 ~ Lord I love those early 50's cars. And this Pontiac is such a perfect example. Such a simple yet elegant ride for the common man. GM, please bring the Pontiac back... with modern safety and retro styling.

NICE
Wow, I drove one of those to Stratford High School, Very nice at the drive in movie
Back in the day when they really new how to make great looking cars with lots of room in them!!!!!
Sweet looking 51 Pontiac Sedan. I love the condition. I also love the visor just above the windscreen. :)
Ll
That's a cool car sir!
Very appealing exterior styling with a similarly beautiful and well laid out metal instrument panel. The heater controls especially seem easy to understand and operate.
A nice example of Pontiac from the year before I was born. This was Pontiac's silver anniversary so they went all out on that Chieftain De Luxe 4 Door Sedan interior.
Pontiac in 1951 offered only this one 4 door sedan. They offered six closed 2 door models plus a 2 door convertible. The top of the line was the Super De Luxe Catalina hardtop. They also offered a 4 door station wagon and a 2 door "Sedan Delivery" (panel wagon).
Pontiac? RACIST!
Wow......Had one of those back in 1974. What a beast!
LoL.
My grandfather had one like this during the early/mid 1950's. I got to drive it several times under his watchful eye and what a great road car. Made several road trips on US 90 in NW FLA. Equipped with a Hydramatic and the straight 8 engine it was smooth and reliable. IMHO, if GM or anyone built a car like this, with the advantage of modern engine management technology, disc brakes, and a 12V alternator, they would not be able to build enough of them to keep up with demand. I would gladly buy one.
Very nice car and a great price too!
It is a nice solid car for the money. Thanks for taking a look!
I took my first road trip in my grandfather's Pontiac,I still remember it,I was 3 years old,69 years ago,I bunked out on the package tray, the good old days 😁
My godfather had a '51 Pontiac sedan, same shade of green. Looks just like his car. As a little kid (in the early '50s) I loved how the Indian head would light up when the headlights were on.

Meu pai teve um aqui no Brasil nos anos 70 andei neste carro pesado e poderoso muito bom
I call it Green Beauty. Could not cry over a car that good. Honor Chief Pontiac!
Love that color and hood ornament.
I like this car Sand to information
That’s an excellent car with many options. The price is very reasonable and would make a great daily driver. Nice…..
My father had a two-tone green '53 Chieftain that I remember from my childhood. Straight 8, Hydramatic, always started no matter how cold it got. He sold it to a co-worker when we moved in 1967.
Those G.M. cars for '49 had really nice proportions ; in my opinion they started looking a bit overweight from 1950 for a few years . Nice that this car was well cared for , hope it goes to someone who appreciates it .
Spectacular --
My mom took her driving test on this when it was new.
No idea how a skinny 19-yr old young lady managed the manual steering of a truck. But it lasted us till '63 ...... an eternity for cars, back then.
The 1951 Pontiac straight 8 4 door was the first family car I remember from my childhood (it was a lonnnng time ago) and from another video from this same shed you showed a 1948 Plymouth coupe which was our second car that my mom drove. All while my dad worked for Ford.
Beautiful car.
Thanks for taking a look!
Very beautiful amazing colour beautiful looking car wow just love the look beautiful
Not a bad price on this one..
My dad had one of these. His was a brown color. That sucker was a running fool. Like Olds Starfires, pass everything but a gas station. This one here is super sharp. Keep it in the garage guys.
My first car was a 52 that looked just like this one. I thought that the tail lights on the 52 were on the ridge of the fender like this one's are and the 51's tail lights were inboard of that?
One great thing was the instrument lights were a deep blue that I'd love to have these days. Another fun feature was the vacuum wipers that went crazy when you backed off and slowed to almost nothing when accelerating.
My dad drove one when we lived In Toronto I remember a family next door could not get their car started & asked my day for a push, all he said is " get in & hold on" Did the job.
Beautyfull car inside absolut gourgeus must be powerglide 51 is a year where they made awsome cars
Thanks for taking a look Tom!
If my memory is correct Pontiac, Oldsmobile, and Cadillac used the Hydramatic. Chevy used the Powerglide and Buick used the Dynaflow. The Powerglide and Dynaflow were similar.

Another oldie but goodie from back in my childhood days when my interest in cars was no less than it is today.
Wonderful old Pontiac! This is an ultra rare automobile and in great condition for it's age. Do you know how many miles are on this old girl? Keep up the good work.

That color green is nice. The car has lots of charm. That's the Pontiac I want to remember.
If not mistaken, the hood ornament with the amber colored plastic, also lights up at night.
I had a two door black one in 1959. It blew a rod.
I had one in light green, but no visor. 3 speed straight 8

that thing is all kinds of cool even though i think this is when pontiac was considered a slow old people car according to that show american muscle car.
It's definitely not fast, but it sure is cool.
The Pontiac straight 8 engine in this car was rated at 116 hp. Pontiac was proud of its performance at the time. It was paired with the Hydra-matic transmission which was probably the best fully automatic 4 speed transmission you could get in 1951.
