As a fellow crafter with a shed full of crap from charity shops, I really like what you did here. I am off to the charity shop to get some stacking cups. They will then join the growing pile of crap I am unlikely to ever get round to doing anything with. Thank you.
I would love to know what the companies that send products to the more sardonic UK creators think. Send it to a US one and its almost always "OMG! Watch us lose our shit so hard we have to mainline Thorazine to stop us" send to Dan "Its a 3D printer, it prints in 3D, also big"
It's nice to receive gifts, but also nice to have somewhere to put them in a cramped space and for the person sending said gift to understand THE PAIN OF LIMITED SPACE and just send a coupon or something instead.
Your assistant, after being told that there's no wrong way to apply the paint, puts an atom of paint on the tower, and you immediately yell "THAT'S WRONG!" at her - that made me laugh for an unhealthy length of time.
Thankyou for this new video Mister Does. I'm glad that you included railings on your model as I feel good health and safety practices should be encouraged more often in the minature wargaming world.
Fantastic build as always!! If that was in a game I'd think "oh I bet that has some fantastic loot!" Spectacular! Also I absolutely lost it when you showed your "boat" and threw it on the water (which actually floated quite well🤣).
I wasn't too sure about the color choice at first, but seeing how well it came out after the rust and grime was applied all I have to say is VERY NICE!
This was awesome Dan. Always a pleasure to see your unique spin on the crafting TH-cam staples. If you put transparent plastic in between the platform support struts it would make a good aircraft control tower.
I like the grip tape as a texture. I used old speaker grills for my 40k Grey Knight bases because i got them mainly to play Boarding Actions. Adds a nice weight to the model too. ( You could use them as the platform too if you want a perferated platform, they are quite robust if you know any installers )
I must say, I was very confused when this popped in my recommended. I'd swear you've got a twin at least i nvoice in Bill Makes Things. Dan Does and Bill Makes. Both capable of making miracles with children's toys.
Fantastic video as always Dan, one technique I use for creating a rusty metallic undercoat (especially on larger models) is a matt black followed by a light misting of medium brown spray paint and a light misting of silver spray paint. Crushed chalk pastels also help to add a caked on rust texture, although I think you've been doing that already. I'd like to add another like here for Beth for her contributions as well!
Dan! Your All New Dan Does Craft format looks A MAY ZING!!! Loving the editing style in the trailer!!!!! Now, excuse me, but I have an appointment with my therapist!!!!!!! New Kiddytek printer? That will give your Kiddy Slicer something else to do. What's that - Different type of slicer....? Oh.
Was just scrolling through videos glad your video came up, liked subscribed especially what you did to the building blocks will definitely be trying that, love the humor btw 😅
22:57 I made the exact same noise. Excellent build, as always. Something as simple as a tower, made detailed and interesting and still believable as a functional building.
When you were smiling, I physically felt your incredible strain. I'm even afraid to imagine the effort it took you to hide the pain from the existential horror of being.
That verdigris paint is used to give statues etc a 'verdigris patina'. Don't think it's meant to be used as a block colour! Great results in the end though!
Not to say anything bad about your blood but I found your channel through Bill and now I can’t really watch his stuff because it looks less “organized” by comparison (his music is fun though). I love the sculpts especially, it just gives your channel more variety. The MCK’s are a great series, can’t wait to see more! Nice job on this terrain. Wonderful marketing skills with that first print. Wishing you many more sponsorship deals based on how well this one was handled!
Rockin' that intro, Dan. Totally bitchin', as kids possibly said, at some point in history. I can't keep this up. Sorry. But yes, if you find some of those stacking cup things, do clean them well, to remove any anomalous materials that might cling to the inside. Be wary of piss, shit, and rags, is what I'm saying. Having found evidence of all three in an Action Man armoured car I was renovating once, it's not a pleasant surprise, and it remains with you for a long time afterwards. Seriously though, love that tower. It really has a darkness about it, like something that looms up out of the fog, on an otherwise empty moor. You have made a hauntological model, Dan. Be proud. And slightly afraid. 👍👍👍
Dan, this one was a lot of fun! LOL!!!!!
Oh and FANTASTIC result. Wonderful surface treatment!
You lads excel at this.
Praise from the master! Thanks so much, buddy!
Omg screaming "THATS WRONG!!"
Dying 😂😂😂
That took me back to art classes...
If you're looking to add to the team, I am also called Dan. That's my main qualification
That was enough to get me in the door
No one ever made making a tower so interesting. Amazing
Glad you think so!
@@Dan_Does Im glad your glad. Going to start using your videos to teach my highschool art students how to students scratch building
Glad I beep out the swear words now @MrJef_Paints

In Soviet Confectionery Crafting States of Dan Does, sinister tower watches you.
Any box that can fit a human head is a good box. Also nice printer.

Aw, good. She didn't find it as funny
"Or we'll make it up..." You sir just earned my sub!
(3d printing, mini painting, and war game crafting and reviews please)

Tower 'bout that, then.
Also the railing gluing fart noise was *chef's kiss*
Ha, glad you noticed
Thankyou for this new video Mister Does. I'm glad that you included railings on your model as I feel good health and safety practices should be encouraged more often in the minature wargaming world.
Agreed
Dan does it again.
Magnificent. I am put to mind also of "Look Around You"
Great inspiration

Looking forward to my new wargaming video 'zine.
Brilliant idea and execution! Thanks for sharing!

I've not seen a strut like that since John Travolta.
Bravo 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏

Dan Does is Dantastic. Errybody gather round/catch up.
I thought I was going to get motion sickness from that fancy intro. Can’t wait for the car tank the team makes.
I’m really digging the new crafting space, it looks really good!
Cheers!
Your opening was amazing
Thank you
Like BUTTERRRRRRR!
I found this video uncomfortably sincere
That's exceptional ❤
The sponsered bit was good, lol.
I'm not sure what they expected with only 20g of filament, either.
Your sense of humor is great. 😂
Thank you. I really do try 😉
Amazing Job!
Cheers, Dan.
Many thanks!

6:31 "Some people like feet, I like uniformness"
This is absolutely brilliant 😂
Might just be me but I swear I heard 'uniformed nurse' which I would agree is better than feet.
! have that bottle opener on my key ring ! gizza job

Always my favorite.. Nice bed pants... Best of luck..
Wearing them right now
Sublime and ridiculous and all the good things. lovely to see you Dan and thanks for the awesome tower build🤗
Glad you enjoyed it

I like that they stack so you can use them in more than just one configuration.

Oil washes really do tie everything together.
They do
A plastic bonding primer like car primer or that krylon stuff will sort the peeling problem if anyone is considering doing this project
A good sand would have sufficed. I got lazy
Struts ... struts! Real semi-professional popular (yet still relatable) middle-age wargame video impresario's would use buttresses.
Flying buttresses or gtfo.
